Chapter 318 The Unearthing of the Dream of the Red Chamber Treasure

The underground of the Red Mansion.

Xiang Shanhe slid down the cable to a depth of more than 20 meters, where dozens of miner lamps illuminated the damp concrete structure below.

Around the dark blue earthen wall, some grayish-black moss-like substances remained.

More than a dozen soldiers were using steel bars to pry open a rusty iron door. The door was very large, measuring six to seven meters in length and width. Water droplets seeping from the cracks in the door shimmered with an eerie green light under the lamp.

"Get out of the way!"

Xiang Shanhe took an entrenching tool and shoveled it into the crack in the door. As he exerted force with his shoulder, the muscles under his black clothes bulged and bulged.

The iron gate creaked loudly, and a cold wind carrying a mixture of musty and metallic smells rushed in.

A cold wind whistled through their collars, and everyone present couldn't help but shiver.

Hiss~

This place is a bit strange; cold air is actually seeping out from underground.

Thirty minutes later, the rusty iron gate was completely opened.

The first thing to fall was half a skeleton, with pieces of rotting Japanese military uniforms hanging from it.

The soldiers gasped.

As the miner's lamp swept across the area, crates of gold bars spilled from the collapsed wooden frames, forming a dazzling golden river in the puddles of water in the central passageway...

Xiang Shanhe waited outside the door for a full half hour, until most of the putrid smell inside had dissipated, before daring to put on a gas mask and lead the way into the treasure vault.

The treasure trove is very large; under the illumination of a flashlight, the total area is estimated to exceed 5,000 square meters.

Walking through the gate, you see wooden crates filled with gold and large gold bars scattered on the ground on both sides.

Along the way, the sheer number of gold bars exposed was staggering.

What's hidden beneath the Red Mansion is definitely a gold mine!

......

Deeper inside the door, there were hundreds of camphor wood boxes sealed with tung oil, the words "Special Supplies of the Kwantung Army, 17th Year of Showa" faintly visible on the lids.

"Don't move!"

Xiang Shanhe stopped the soldiers who were about to advance.

He drew his dagger and pried open the lead seal on the nearest wooden box.

Under the flashlight beam, a jade Guanyin statue, entirely emerald green, emerged from the dust and mist, its base bearing a line of small inscriptions:

“Enshrined in Huguo Temple in Beiping”.

Even a rough man like Xiang Shanhe knew that this was no ordinary item; it was definitely a national treasure.

Xiang Shanhe suppressed his excitement and continued his investigation.

Next to the Guanyin statue are hundreds of boxes, neatly stacked with countless bronze artifacts.

Under the lamplight, the patina on the bronze artifacts was as thick as congealed animal blood.

"Damn it... this son of a bitch actually hid so many treasures?" a young soldier blurted out.

"Yeah, how many golden treasures must be hidden underground? Captain, should we continue investigating?"

Xiang Shanhe nodded: "Keep going in."

After walking about 100 meters further in, we finally reached the end of the treasure vault.

The terrain here is more open, but the bone-chilling cold is even stronger...

As the powerful flashlights and headlamps swept across the cave ceiling, everyone froze instantly.

The dome, more than ten meters high, is covered with the skeletons of Japanese soldiers, some of whom are still in the posture of raising their knives to disembowel themselves.

At their feet, amidst a pile of treasure chests and gold bricks, lay a half-buried skeleton wearing a general's hat, its right skeletal hand tightly clutching a roll of yellowed parchment.

As Xiang Shanhe approached, stepping on the gold bricks, the tips of his boots kicked away a few scattered gold ingots.

The parchment features a map of Myanmar drawn in vermilion on the front, with key locations such as Shan State, Kachin State, Kokang, and Lashio marked with a blood-red chrysanthemum pattern.

The most striking feature is the black dragon totem painted on the outskirts of Taunggyi, Shan State, with the words ";黑龙の目は月を喰らう" (Black dragon's eye devours the moon) written in haste next to it.

On the reverse side of the parchment is a more expansive map of South and Southeast Asia, with six black dragon totems marked in different locations...

This picture is not simple!

"I'll inform Boss Lin right away!"

Xiang Shanhe pulled the walkie-talkie from his waist:

"Notify the Dragon Gang to impose martial law at all its branches in Kokang, and immediately reinforce the Red Mansion with additional guards!"

"The stuff unearthed underground is enough to buy most of northern Myanmar!"

...............................................

Evening, top floor of the Dragon Building.

Lin Dong was carefully examining a tattered piece of parchment, the white smoke from his cigarette drifting quietly in the air.

Three hours ago, Lin Dong personally entered the treasure vault beneath the Red Mansion.

Although he had already seen the general outline of this treasure trove, he was still truly shocked when he saw so much gold and treasures with his own eyes.

Damn it, you really went all out!

It's hard to imagine the sensation this treasure trove would cause if it were made public.

Fortunately, Lin Dong ordered a strict news blackout immediately after the excavation, and all those working on site were members of the Dragon Gang.

With 100% loyalty, these subordinates will keep their mouths very tightly shut.

After inspecting the underground area, Lin Dong sent the others to wait on the surface and continued to seal off the area around the Red Building and the entrance to the underground garage.

He himself stayed behind and stored all the gold artifacts and treasures in the vault into his system space.

So many things, yet they only occupy a small corner of the vast space.

The space is just too big; it can't possibly be filled...
