The person standing by the iron gate of the prison cell was Xue Jingqiu.
The warehouse door opened, and Xue Jingqiu walked in.
"Director Xue, may I leave now?"
Lin Dong suddenly opened his eyes and asked with a smile.
How did you know?
Xue Jingqiu was quite surprised and paused for a moment.
“It’s simple. Isn’t that a release notice? Or is it a death sentence? Besides, I’ve been making arrangements outside for a day now. It’s time for you to go out.”
Lin Dong grinned, moved off the bed, straightened his clothes, and urged:
"Director Xue, let's go. Take me to complete the formalities. Uh, you came to see me alone. Is there something you want to say?"
"Mr. Lin, it's like this. First of all, thank you for reminding me. After I finish arranging your release from prison today, you will be hospitalized for gallbladder stone surgery."
Xue Jingqiu lowered his posture and said in a low voice:
"With Mr. Lin's abilities, it's only a matter of time before he leaves. However... I hope Mr. Lin can keep the matter of arranging for outsiders to meet you a secret, after all, I don't want to offend the Cloud Shadow Society."
"Director Xue, please rest assured, I know the rules. As for the Cloud Shadow Society, they won't be able to show off for long."
Lin Dong patted Xue Jingqiu on the shoulder and smiled.
Xue Jingqiu's heart skipped a beat. Damn, really? This guy isn't willing to suffer even the slightest loss?
You want revenge after you get out? That's the Cloud Shadow Society, after all!
Fifteen minutes later, Lin Dong, wearing his signature black suit, slowly stepped out of the detention center.
The lazy afternoon sun shone on his bald head, making it sparkle and adding a touch of coldness to his already roguish good looks.
Lin Dong took out his phone and dialed Niu Defa's number:
"Old Niu, I'm out. Come pick me up in your car."
"Great! Wait for me, I'll be there in half an hour."
Lin Dong hung up the phone and was about to take out a cigarette when he suddenly felt a burning sensation between his eyebrows.
Danger!
Since gaining his third eye, Lin Dong has discovered that his sense of unknown dangers has become exceptionally acute.
In that instant, he sensed the danger approaching.
Without hesitation, he dodged to the side.
"puff!"
A soft sound of a bullet hitting the ground.
A bullet, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, embedded itself in the wall next to the gate of the detention center.
Holy crap, who's so bold as to attempt an assassination in front of the detention center?
Lin Dong's face was ashen. It seemed that some people really didn't want to see him get out of prison alive.
In just one second, Lin Dong determined that this was a professional assassin using a sniper rifle with a range of less than 1,000 meters.
The sniper's approximate location was on a small hill opposite the detention center.
It's about 800 meters from here to the hillside.
Lin Dong narrowly dodged the first shot, but instead of staying in place, he flashed and rushed towards the opposite hillside.
With Lin Dong's current freakish speed, he can cover 800 meters in just 19 seconds.
In such a short time, even the most skilled assassin can only fire five more shots.
Moreover, you can't aim.
How can you aim at a target moving at such a high speed?
Distance is a sniper's greatest advantage; if the distance is shortened, the sniper is left helpless.
The assassin, who was lying in ambush beside a blue stone on the hillside, was about to fire a second shot when he froze.
He noticed that the target in the scope had suddenly disappeared. Actually, it wasn't that the person had truly disappeared; it was just that the person was moving too fast.
The scope couldn't even capture that person, let alone keep up with his ghostly figure.
Left with no other option, the assassin could only pull the trigger by instinct.
"bump!"
The muffled gunshots swept through the chilly air, stirring up a gentle breeze.
The assassin scrambled to his feet, not even bothering to gather the sniper rifle on the ground, turned around, and ran silently toward the mountaintop.
This target is too abnormal; not only can he sense in advance that someone is going to snipe him, but he also has superhuman speed.
Damn it, which bastard took the order? How come they didn't even find out the target's background?
When I get back, I'll kill the guy who took the order to vent my anger...
It's just a pity that he can't go back.
Before the assassin could reach the mountaintop, Lin Dong's figure had already appeared behind him.
The assassin was shocked and quickened his pace, extending his right hand to pull back the trigger of his pistol.
"Bang bang bang!"
Three shots were fired in quick succession.
It stirred up three invisible ripples in the air.
The assassin didn't see his target get shot; he only felt a sharp pain in his right hand, and his pistol was taken from him.
Immediately afterwards, he felt a piercing, agonizing pain in his legs as he ran.
Ah~
Amidst screams, the assassin's tall body tumbled forward, landing face-first on a clump of weeds.
"Brother, spare my life! I was just following orders!"
The overconfident assassin, enduring excruciating pain, immediately begged for mercy.
"It's too late, I don't need to know why."
Lin Dong's icy voice, like the death knell of a messenger from hell, terrified the assassin, turning his face ashen. The shadow of death loomed over him like a mountain.
"No! Listen to me..."
"Bang!"
A gunshot rang out.
The assassin, lying in the grass, had a deep bullet hole in the center of his forehead, from which bright red blood gushed out.
Even in his final moments, the killer was still reeling from the overwhelming shock and terror.
On a deserted hillside, a flock of sparrows that had come to spend the winter took flight.
