The roar of the aircraft's engines tore through the clouds as a silver-white luxury Airbus A280 slowly landed at the airport on the western outskirts of Kokang, the gambling capital.
Looking out the porthole, Lin Dong saw the wide runway receding behind him amidst streaks of light and shadow.
The airport's silhouette, outlined by the night lights, resembled a steel behemoth, while the neon lights of the Kokang gambling city in the distance shimmered with iridescent colors in the night.
Before even disembarking from the plane, Lin Dong was already captivated by the bustling atmosphere of this newly emerging gambling city.
Today, Kokang Old Street, adjacent to the gambling city, has doubled in size.
It is incredibly attractive, drawing hundreds of thousands of gamblers and millionaires from all over the world every day.
Nowadays, there are even more tourists visiting Las Vegas than locals visiting the old town.
The prosperity of a place often benefits from a particular pillar industry; the more people from outside the area it attracts, the more developed its economy becomes.
As the saying goes:
"The neon lights of Las Vegas never sleep, a place of extravagance and debauchery where no one returns home."
......
The moment the hatch opened, a cool night breeze, carrying the smell of cooking, rushed in.
Below the gangway, besides Kun Sheng, the God of War, and Hawkeye standing at the very front, there were three others.
On either side of the red carpet, twenty sixteen- or seventeen-year-old boys dressed in black, holding AK-47s, stood tall and proud. Their youthful faces, covered in camouflage paint, gleamed coldly under the searchlights.
The leader was a boy who looked no more than fifteen years old.
He was wearing camouflage clothing, a black headscarf, and a dragon tattoo around his neck.
Seeing Lin Dong step out of the cabin door
The teenagers immediately took the lead in shouting, "Welcome back, Boss!"
"Welcome back, Boss!"
The other teenagers joined in the shouts, and the crisp sound of gun butts hitting the ground startled a flock of night birds in the distance from the airport.
Lin Dong walked down the gangway on the red carpet.
He hugged each of the three men, Kun Sheng and his companion.
"Welcome back to Kokang, Boss Lin!" Kun Sheng said excitedly.
"Boss Kun, you've worked hard." Lin Dong responded warmly, then shifted his gaze to the faces of the two, "You two have gotten a tan."
"Of course, the boss has to make it up to us. We've been working so hard training the youth corps, our skin's practically peeling off three layers from the sun..."
"Your Junior Army?" Lin Dong looked at the boys lined up with guns, and he immediately recognized the small, military-uniformed boy standing at the far end: "Xiao Yi?!"
"Greetings, Boss!" The young man in military uniform gave a crisp salute. "Xiao Yi, Commander of the First Division of the Kokang Youth Army, respectfully welcomes Boss Lin back!"
"Welcome back, Boss Lin!"
Two rows of boys in black shouted their slogans in a loud and clear voice once again.
Lin Dong's eyes gleamed with admiration as he walked up to Xiao Yi: "Xiao Yi, it's only been a year, and you've already become a division commander? A division commander at fifteen? Impressive!"
"You've grown taller."
"Reporting to Boss Lin, Xiao Yi leads the training every day and never slacks off in the slightest. It's normal for him to have grown taller."
"Hahaha... Not bad, not bad, you've gotten quite a bit stronger." Lin Dong patted Xiao Yi's arm affectionately. "Are these all your men?"
"Yes, boss! They are directly under the guard company of the 1st Division of the Dragon Gang Youth Army in northern Myanmar."
"Hmm, very good! You've worked hard, both of you, War God and Hawkeye." Lin Dong was in a good mood. "Didn't Angduk come to pick us up?"
“Boss, Aungduk returned to Kachin State after the special training program for the youth corps ended last month.”
Hawkeye explained:
"Judging from General Ang's words, his Mountain Eagle Special Forces team is going to expand again?"
"We need to expand our forces because we will soon have a tough battle to fight." Lin Dong nodded.
"A tough battle?" Xiao Yi's face stiffened. "Boss, can our youth army participate in this battle?"
"Have you finished your training?"
"Report: All 7,365 personnel in the army, from officers to cooks, have completed their training!"
"Very good, Hawkeye, how are their training results?"
"Excellent!" the taciturn military genius exclaimed. "They train incredibly hard."
“These little guys are really working hard.” Hawkeye nodded in agreement.
"Yes, I, Kun Sheng, can testify that in the past three months, I had Xiang Shanhe's guard regiment conduct four live-fire combat exercises with the youth army in batches, and the guard regiment was defeated every time..."
"So powerful?" Lin Dong laughed. "Such extraordinary combat strength at such a young age!"
"That's right, look who trained him!" Hawkeye smirked, quite pleased with himself.
"General Angduk also deserves credit," the war god added honestly.
"Yes, yes, yes, you, Military God, have also made many contributions. At least these kids are incredibly skilled now, proficient in all kinds of firearms and demolitions..."
Look at all that praise!
Xiao Yi's face turned bright red instantly, not from shyness, but from excitement.
The two rows of armed teenagers behind him stood tall and proud, their eyes gleaming, their hearts pounding with excitement.
Judging from what Boss Lin said, the youth army will soon be deployed to the battlefield with real guns and ammunition.
For some reason, war is not actually scary in the minds of these young people.
Instead, they took pride in achieving military merit.
A fierce and warlike nature seemed to be etched into the bones of these young men who grew up in this war-torn land.
The Dragon Gang has strict rules, but rewards and punishments are clearly defined.
No matter who you are, as long as you make contributions, the guild will never be stingy with rewards.
Because the Dragon Gang has no shortage of people, and even less shortage of money.
......
"Eagle Eye Military God, Xiao Yi, give the order that starting tomorrow, all youth soldiers will upgrade their training intensity and officially transition to wartime military training."
