Chapter 1019 A Completely Different Attitude

The first step of the "slacking off plan" was to establish connections with the FBI.

He has already found a way.

Shuichi Akai, an FBI investigator, is the best breakthrough point.

With the "brother-in-law" relationship, plus the fact that he was willing but unable to save Mingmei at the time, the success rate was as high as 1,000%.

If he arranges for Shuichi Akai and Akemi to meet, then he can consider his mission a success.

Arranging for the two to meet wouldn't be difficult; he's now thinking about how to persecute them...

No, how should it be arranged?

Even now, Mingmei hasn't given him a definite answer.

Is it a performance, or just a simple meal?

He will probably contact Shuichi Akai within the next two weeks to arrange a meeting between the two of them.

It would be best if Mingmei gave him an answer tomorrow.

To be honest, he'd rather stir up some trouble.

For example, what he said before:

He made Shuichi Akai witness Akemi being "killed" by him, rubbing salt into his already unhealed wounds.

or...

To let Shuichi Akai see Akemi's "body".

The former is anger plus guilt, while the latter is all guilt.

The effects are largely the same.

He wasn't exactly a model student to begin with, otherwise he wouldn't have ended up in this line of work.

Give him some time, and you can be even harsher on him.

However, there's no need for that.

This scene is mainly meant to make Shuichi Akai realize how dangerous his actions were for Akemi.

If it goes on too long, it will just become a pure joke.

No need.

A simple meeting is fine too; that would be more heartwarming.

Withdrawing his gaze from the starry sky, Guangyou turned his head and glanced at the tightly closed bedroom door, thinking to himself:

"I wonder how Akemi-nee made her choice."

...

At this moment, Kōyū is thinking about Akemi and Akai Shuichi.

However, the person involved, Mingmei, did not think about this issue.

She went into the room, placed the roses on the bedside table, and said to Ai:

"Shiho, Kousuke said I should give this to you."

Guangyou is right.

But Akemi added a sentence without permission:

He told you not to be angry.

"I'm not angry," Ai said calmly.

That's what she said, but considering her reaction just now, Akemi still felt that her younger sister was throwing a tantrum at Kōyū.

So arrogant.

Seeing through it all but saying nothing, Akemi spoke well of Kōyū:

"He just felt that I would have to wash it again later, and the sofa is more comfortable, so he said there was no need to put it on."

Ai simply responded with a "hmm" after hearing such a long sentence.

Seeing Ai's reaction, "Know-it-all" Akemi understood again:

"I think I've figured it out."

"You just want to hear Guangyou say these things."

"Mmm," Ai replied to Akemi in the same way.

"You two should sort out your own problems."

Mingmei, having given up on speaking well of Guangyou, hugged her laptop on the table, lay down in bed, and started watching a movie on her own.

"It's not that I don't want to help, it's that I simply can't."

After muttering that to herself, she settled down to watch the movie.

Just as she started watching the movie, Ai received the explanatory text message from Kōyū.

She wasn't really angry; she didn't even show a hint of temper.

What bothers me is that Guangyou has a bed but doesn't sleep there, insisting on sleeping on the small sofa instead, using the excuse that he finds it troublesome, and he won't even let me make the bed for him.

After reading Kousuke's explanation text message, Ai also edited a message and sent it to Kousuke:

"Be careful tonight, don't roll off the bed."

It appears to be concern for Guangyou, but a hint of dissatisfaction still shines through in that concern:

"If you had let me lay it, this wouldn't have happened."

Clearly, Kwangyu sensed this hint of dissatisfaction and replied playfully:

"I'll definitely do it next time."

Looking at the text message, Ai couldn't help but let out a soft "humph" and mutter to herself:

"next time?"

"That's wishful thinking."

But she replied to Guangyou very honestly:

"Um."

He also added a casual remark of concern:

Go to bed early tonight.

Guangyou replied very quickly:

"The same to you."

Ai sent Guangyou another text message saying "Goodnight." Sitting on the edge of the bed next to the bedside table, she turned her gaze to the bouquet of roses.

When I first bought them, there were still glistening water droplets on the rose petals.

Now they're all gone.

It doesn't look as vibrant as it did when I first bought it.

But in her eyes, these roses were still so beautiful.

Especially when she thought of the meaning of these twelve roses, her heart felt as sweet as if she had eaten honey.

"love letter..."

Just as she was thinking about the love letter, Akemi invited her to go see a movie together:

"Shiho, wanna go to the movies?"

She's currently thinking about the contents of the love letter and has no interest in watching the movie.

But since it was her older sister who said that, Ai temporarily put aside the matter of the love letter and asked:

What movie?

After pressing the pause button, Akemi looked up at Ai and replied:

"It's called 'Annie Hall'."

"It's a romantic comedy film that was released more than ten years ago."

"It won an Oscar, so it's pretty good."

"A romance film?"

She had planned that if it wasn't a very good movie, she would think about how to write the love letter while watching it.

But after hearing the genre of the movie, she changed her mind.

"How is it? What do you think?" Akemi asked again.

"Look." Ai nodded, lay down next to Akemi, and looked at the paused scene on the screen. She added, "Look."
