This was just a sweet little episode.
On the way to the study, Yukiko Kudo asked Eri Kisaki what she meant by what she had just said.
Eri Kisaki didn't hide anything and told Yukiko Kudo everything.
The enormous debt of eight million yen truly shocked Yukiko Kudo.
She blurted out involuntarily:
"Huh? No way?"
"He's already spent eight million?"
"Shh!" Eri Kisaki quickly gestured to Yukiko Kudo.
After Yukiko Kudo stopped talking, she said helplessly:
"That's why I came as an agent."
After hearing the whole story, Yukiko Kudo looked at Eri Kisaki with a hint of sympathy.
She nodded and said softly:
"So that's how it is."
The two spoke softly.
However, Guangyou and the others walking beside the two of them could hear it very clearly.
Xiaolan felt a little embarrassed when the topic came up.
How could his father be so smug and complacent?
I spent the money before I even received the commission.
I didn't tell them beforehand.
She followed behind the group, her face slightly flushed.
"Where is Kogoro now?" Yukiko Kudo changed the subject.
He was dead drunk and sleeping on the sofa in the office.
Recalling the arrangements she made before leaving, Eri Kisaki smiled, and her anger subsided considerably.
She didn't explain, but said rather mysteriously:
"However, even if he remembers now, he probably won't be able to get up."
Guangyou, who was standing to the side, raised an eyebrow after hearing this.
He also participated in the setup.
Indeed, even if the uncle remembered, he couldn't get up.
...
The scene changes.
The office was very quiet with the lights off.
The quiet atmosphere didn't last long, as a somewhat flustered male voice broke the silence:
"Um?"
"What happened?"
"Hey! Wait a minute! What's going on?"
"Ran, Kouyu, Conan, where are you all?!"
"Hey! Come help me!"
On the sofa in the office, there is a person who is tied to the sofa.
This person was none other than Kogoro Mouri.
After sleeping all afternoon, he was almost sober.
The moment he opened his eyes, he found himself tied to the sofa with ropes.
He tried calling for help, but no one responded.
So he decided to save himself.
He shifted his body and struggled a few times.
However, because the rope was tied quite tightly, his struggling movements were restricted, and the rope remained motionless.
It's like a fish tied to a box with a rope, waiting for a customer to buy it.
They wanted to escape, but they lacked the ability.
Just as he was about to try again, he saw a note with writing on it on the coffee table in front of him.
By the light streaming in from the window, he could make out the words on the note:
"Don't do anything unnecessary before I get back, Eri."
Upon seeing the note, Uncle Mori's body went limp, and he collapsed onto the sofa.
They practically had "I'm hopeless" written all over their faces.
This setup has a name that perfectly matches the background:
The Kidnapping of Kogoro Mouri
The name was of course chosen by Guangyou.
However, these Mori uncles certainly didn't know that.
...
Kōyū, who had given this name, had already followed Fujieda Shigeru back to the study.
After examining the three pieces of evidence currently known, Yukiko Kudo also believes that this is not a simple prank.
Eri Kisaki, who was standing nearby, also pointed out the current difficulties:
"These are the only three things that can be used as evidence right now."
"If we can catch suspects with these methods, that would truly be a miracle."
The commission made no progress, but Yukiko Kudo was not worried.
She knelt down and hugged Conan, saying with a big smile:
"But as long as this child is here, maybe a miracle will happen."
Conan being hugged:
(?_?)?
Seeing this, Eri Kisaki suddenly remembered something and said:
"I remember you solved the last case together with Conan."
“Yes.” Yukiko Kudo nodded, quite proudly, “This child’s reasoning is almost never wrong.”
"Truly worthy of being mine..."
She almost blurted out, "He truly is my son."
Upon hearing the first part of that sentence, Conan's expression changed drastically.
Fortunately, Yukiko Kudo realized at that moment that she had almost let something slip.
He stopped the car in time and didn't finish his sentence.
"Yours what?" Eri asked, puzzled.
Although he hasn't acted for many years, his acting skills haven't declined.
"Truly worthy of being mine..."
She still had that smiling expression, paused for a moment, thought through her lines, and then spoke at a slightly faster pace:
"The grandson of my grandfather's brother's daughter's cousin's uncle!"
This long list of names is a bit confusing and difficult to sort out in a short time.
Moreover, it wasn't anything important, so Eri didn't press the matter.
She nodded, then asked in confusion:
Is that so?
The more you explain, the more wrong it becomes; Yukiko Kudo understood this principle very well.
She released Conan, stood up, and said to Eri Kisaki:
"In short, let's meet with Mr. Gan Xiong and ask him if he has any clues that we can use for reference."
"For example, is there anyone you think is the most suspicious?"
"Otherwise, I really wouldn't know where to start."
