"What was that cringeworthy line from just now?"
After listening to Kouyu's Team Rocket-style self-introduction, this was the thought that came to Rena Mizunashi's mind.
However, her attention was quickly drawn to the words on the document.
After confirming that the ID was genuine, Rena Mizunashi suddenly looked up at Kousuke.
She asked:
"Are you with the FBI?"
At this moment, a hint of joy inadvertently appeared in Rena Mizunashi's eyes.
"I'm not an FBI agent..." Kōyū prepared to tell Rena Mizunashi his true identity.
Upon hearing the first part of those words, the joy in Rena Mizunashi's eyes was replaced by disappointment.
But then she thought something was wrong, glanced at the documents again, and finally turned her suspicious gaze to Guangyou.
The documents are genuine, but the person in question is not.
Guangyou calmly said:
"I'm just a temporary worker passing by."
"Ah, no, calling him a temporary worker is more like calling him a collaborator."
"Cooperation?" Rena Mizunashi frowned slightly.
How could the FBI team cooperate with someone like that?
Sensing her distrust, Guangyou explained:
"Yes, cooperation."
“I am a free man, and my situation is rather special.”
"It would be difficult for me to accomplish that on my own."
"Of course we need to seek cooperation."
"But because I am a free man, what I say is not as convincing as what those people say."
"So I asked them for an ID."
These words did not completely dispel Rena Mizunashi's doubts.
Her gaze towards Guangyou still held distrust, but outwardly she nodded and said:
"I see."
This point was brought to the forefront by Guangyou:
"I know you don't trust me."
"So, to show my sincerity, I took off this black robe."
If they join forces, Rena Mizunashi will eventually see his true colors.
Since that's the case, he'll use this to gain Rena Mizunashi's trust.
Rena Mizunashi did not react to Kōyū's actions.
She remained alert, watching Kwang-woo.
"I'm going to the bathroom to change my clothes."
After saying that, Guangyou turned and walked towards the bathroom.
The black robe provides good concealment, but it is indeed more troublesome to put on and take off.
There's no way around it; you can't gain something by giving up something else.
While Kōyū was changing clothes, Rena Mizunashi was inspecting her apartment.
She was worried that Guangyou had installed listening devices in the room.
But this was simply her being overly cautious.
However, being cautious is never wrong.
But she was destined to find nothing.
After changing his clothes and tidying himself up in front of the mirror, Guangyou pushed open the bathroom door and went out.
"I thought you'd run away..."
Hearing the door open, Rena Mizunashi, who was sitting on the sofa, turned her head to look.
She was stunned.
Ignoring Rena Mizunashi's surprised gaze, Kōyū sat down on the sofa opposite her and smiled:
"How could he possibly escape?"
"You haven't given me an answer yet."
Recovering from her surprise, Rena Mizunashi looked at Kousuke and asked:
"What do you want to do together?"
"Is there even a need to ask?"
After asking a question in return, Kwangyu said:
"Our goal is the same as yours: to destroy that organization."
"Since the FBI agents' identities were exposed, there has been a gap in intelligence."
“You’re still in that organization, so you’re definitely the best person to fill that gap.”
"Besides, your strength is not weak either."
"The more people we get on board, the more certain we are to succeed."
“We can join forces,” Rena Mizunashi readily agreed.
Destroying the organization was indeed Rena Mizunashi's goal.
It started as just a task.
Since that incident happened back then, this mission has taken on an emotional dimension.
Emotions are naturally negative.
But Rena Mizunashi also has conditions.
She looked at Guangyou and asked with some doubt:
"Do you have influence within the FBI?"
"Regarding the witness protection program."
"Yes, one spot shouldn't be a problem," Guangyou replied quickly.
He agreed almost as soon as Rena Mizunashi asked the question.
He himself naturally had no say.
After all, he was at most a temporary worker.
With Shuichi Akai around, securing a spot in the witness protection program shouldn't be a problem.
He also guessed who Rena Mizunashi would give the spot to.
As expected, after seeing Kōyū nod, Mizunashi Rena uttered that name.
“I want my younger brother, Hondo Eisuke, to participate in the witness protection program.”
"In exchange, I can agree to join forces."
"Then I hope we can have a pleasant collaboration," Kōyū said to Rena Mizunashi with a smile.
Now all that's missing is the Japanese Public Security Bureau, represented by Amuro Tooru.
Besides this condition, there's something else that Rena Mizunashi needs to say.
She poured herself a glass of water, took a small sip, and said:
"Furthermore, under no circumstances will I prioritize the CIA's mission."
"Even if it does anything to your plans, you can't blame me."
"Yes." Kōyū nodded, indicating his understanding. "That's natural."
Although the two organizations belong to the same country.
However, there is a gap between the two.
Generally, the tasks of one's own organization are given priority.
He had already thought of this.
Although he doesn't represent the FBI and has no say in the matter, Shuichi Akai would probably understand.
