Chapter 1115 Inspector Megure: I've found the pattern!

After understanding the general outline of the case, Inspector Megure nodded knowingly.

He asked:

"So the victim isn't dead yet, right?"

Nodding, Kwangyu replied:

"That should be the case now."

He should be receiving emergency treatment at a nearby hospital.

"I see."

Just as he was about to ask the next question, Inspector Megure suddenly remembered something.

He pinched his chin with his hand and muttered to himself:

"Brother Mori didn't come along today."

"Professor Agasa isn't here either."

"There are only these few children."

"Although the victim was seriously injured, he did not die."

He felt he had discovered some kind of pattern.

Before he could think about it further, Takagi Wataru came to report on the investigation.

He flipped through the small notebook filled with information and said:

"The man who was attacked by the murderer was named Tokumasa Furumura."

"I'm thirty-nine years old this year."

"I work at the Dongdu Photo Studio across from this apartment."

"..."

After Takagi finished his report, Inspector Megure turned his attention to the sofa beside him.

There was a thin blanket and a knife on the sofa.

There were obvious bloodstains on the thin blanket.

This was already placed on the ancient village of Dechang.

"It seems to be to prevent blood from splattering on himself," Inspector Megure guessed.

While Inspector Megure was observing, Wataru Takagi took out Tokumasa Furumura's identification and looked at it.

He then said to Inspector Megure:

"Inspector, based on the victim's driver's license..."

"His family should be in Beika Town."

“Beihu Town?” Inspector Megure raised an eyebrow. “But this is Toriya Town.”

Suijima Akira, who was standing nearby, quickly stepped forward to explain:

"Gu Cun came to my apartment to rest for a while."

"We were supposed to play mahjong all night tonight to celebrate after finishing the movie."

"So I let him rest here for a while."

"This happens all the time."

"A movie?" Inspector Megure asked. "What movie? Kamen Rider?"

When asked, Akira Hojima answered honestly:

"Yes, it's the second Kamen Rider movie."

"Because the test screening of this movie was postponed to 11 p.m.."

"So he and those other kids came here to rest for a bit."

"I understand," Inspector Megure nodded in response.

He already knew the general outline of the matter from Guangyou.

What I don't know are all trivial details.

Then, Inspector Megure turned to look at Kousuke and asked:

"Guangyou, you said this might be an inside job, right?"

"I think it's possible," Guangyou said, not making any absolute statements.

But Conan confidently stated:

"It must have been someone we knew who committed the crime."

"It's almost certainly true."

"Conan, what evidence do you have to prove it?"

It wasn't that Inspector Megure suspected Conan.

We must rely on evidence to speak for ourselves.

If this could be proven, he would have the officers investigate from that angle.

"Because the murderer didn't make a sound."

To emphasize, Conan repeated it again with a stronger tone:

"Absolutely not!"

This alone is not enough to prove anything, so Takagi Wataru made a guess:

"Maybe you were all asleep, that's why you didn't hear it."

As soon as he finished speaking, Conan immediately retorted:

"I'm referring to the sound of not hitting anything after Mr. Komura was assassinated."

"Generally, once a murderer is discovered, he will either kill the witness to silence them."

"Either turn around and run away immediately."

"The murderer in this case is the latter."

"Strangely enough, the murderer didn't bump into anything in the house when he escaped."

"You should know that the apartment lights were off at that time."

Then, Kōyū chimed in, echoing:

"When I caught up with him, I saw the murderer escape without pausing for a moment."

"This means he must be very familiar with or know the layout of the room."

"Otherwise, I would definitely have caught up with him."

If it weren't for the fact that this room is so cluttered...

Things were piled up everywhere.

There were also CDs and many boxes on the floor.

This affected his movements to some extent.

Otherwise, the murderer would be handcuffed right now.

However, this is not Akira Hojima's fault.

Personal placement habits.

Some people might just like having everything laid out so they can take what they need when they want it.

After all, no one expected this to happen.

After listening to Kousuke's words, Inspector Megure first gave Kousuke a serious reminder:

"Kuangyou, don't do such dangerous things next time."

"I know you want to catch the murderer, but safety comes first."

"I see."

That being said, Guangyou would still do it if he encountered such a situation in the future.

Then, Inspector Megure returned to the main topic:

"In that case, the murderer is most likely someone who knows the apartment layout well."

Suddenly remembering something, Inspector Megure asked Akira Hojima;

"Mr. Suijima, was the door locked before you went to rest, or...?"

“I remember it was locked,” Akira Hojima quickly replied.

At this moment, a police officer came over to report on the inspection at the apartment entrance:

"Inspector, we found no useful clues at the entrance."

"There were no signs of forced entry on the apartment door."

"I see."
