"Bang!"
To Conan's surprise, the gun fired not bullets, but many flowers.
"Huh?"
Conan's serious expression immediately crumbled, and he stared at Ai with a completely bewildered look.
Conan, still sweating profusely, looked at Ai and asked, "What are you doing? Where's Mitsuyu?"
Just then, the ward door opened, and a head peeked out from the crack. Who else could it be but Guangyou?
Guangyou pushed open the door with a grin and walked to the bedside: "Surprised? Unexpected?"
"What exactly do you want?" With the crisis averted, Conan breathed a sigh of relief and glared at the two men with resentment. "Did you just come here to scare me?"
Ai took the flower from the muzzle of the gun and calmly said, "Yes and no, scaring you was just a side effect. The scene between me and Kyou was just to let you know that if you don't keep your guard up, then this scene might really happen, but that person is definitely not me."
“That’s right!” Kōyū added with a smile, “Although you’ve been trying to tone it down, there are still many cases where you appear as Shinichi Kudo. If the organization happens to overhear you, you’ll be in big trouble.”
Changing the subject, Kōyū's face was full of smugness: "However, the organization can't do anything to me. I can protect Ai, and I can also help you. But I am still just one person. As for Ran, Uncle Mori, Professor Agasa, Sonoko, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko, Genta, and all the other people you know, I might still be a bit short of resources."
The organization really couldn't do anything about Kōyū. His high level of skill was one thing, but more importantly, Kōyū knew that the people in the organization were either undercover agents or useless. Apart from Gin and Vermouth, Kōyū didn't really take the rest of the organization seriously.
Vermouth doesn't seem to have any intention of killing Conan or Ran, but she does have a strange urge to kill Ai.
Conan remained silent, pondering for a long time before finally speaking, "I understand."
Guangyou stood up and said, "Okay, we'll be going now. I'll give you the antidote later."
Then, Kōyū and Ai left the hospital and returned to Professor Agasa's house.
After returning to Professor Agasa's house, the two sat on the sofa to rest.
"Will Conan be able to resist?"
Guangyou just shook his head and said helplessly, "It's hard to suppress instincts. Maybe he'll restrain himself and work behind the scenes, but you know, if he can control himself, he won't shrink at all."
If Conan were to use his father's connections, this organization would be quite simple to manage. However, the organization involves too many people, so the time required cannot be described in just one or two days.
Especially in a small country like Japan, how many members of parliament are on the periphery of an organization? This organization has the ability to infiltrate the upper echelons of the police force. If they act rashly, it will cause public panic, which is something the country does not want to see.
The organization is aware of its own limitations; they are not stupid, and they will not cross the line. It is precisely because of this that the organization has survived to this day.
But Conan didn't use his father's connections, or rather, he didn't want to, because his competitive spirit was aroused. To put it nicely, it was youthful impetuosity; to put it bluntly, he was just a hothead.
His father understood this as well. In their family, education was generally based on self-development, with parents providing guidance. Since his father could guarantee Conan's safety, he let him continue to fight against the organization.
"Seriously, is it really okay to let him appear as Shinichi?" Ai was puzzled by Kouyu's decision. It meant that Conan had to be hidden, but at the same time, he had to let him appear openly as Shinichi.
Guangyou's expression was calm, as if he had already thought of this problem: "There's nothing we can do about it, it's his decision, and besides, the organization hasn't recruited many people in high school yet."
Xiao Ai nodded: "The organization certainly wouldn't waste manpower to infiltrate an ordinary high school; it's not worth it."
However, Kouyu didn't explicitly say that Vermouth had infiltrated Teitan High School and become a school doctor.
...
The day of the garden party arrived quickly.
Ran and Sonoko peeked out from backstage, looking at the packed audience from behind the curtain, their faces flushing slightly: "Wow, is this for real? How come there are so many people here!"
Sonoko exclaimed excitedly, "It seems everyone has high expectations for this play!"
She had participated in karate competitions in front of many audiences, but this was her first time acting, so she was inevitably a little nervous.
On the contrary, Sonoko's face was also a little flushed, but it was from excitement. She was more looking forward to the audience's admiration after seeing the performance, especially since it was a script she wrote.
At that moment, a girl named Xiaolan appeared behind them.
Ran turned around and looked at the other person, then called out their name in surprise: "Kazuha!"
Kazuha smiled and said, "I still decided to come. Even though Heiji said my coming would be a hassle for you, I still came."
"How could that be? I'm so happy you could come, Kazuha!" Ran quickly waved her hand. "By the way, where's Hattori?"
Sonoko sighed, "Honestly, and I admired him so much."
This statement caused Kazuha to misunderstand.
Ran quickly explained, "She was joking. Actually, Sonoko likes someone else."
With the misunderstanding cleared up, Kazuha felt relieved; she had thought Sonoko was going to compete with her for Hattori's affections.
Kazuha looked around backstage but couldn't find Shinichi. She asked, "Ran, where is Shinichi Kudo? You must have invited him, right?"
To Kazuha's surprise, Ran said she hadn't invited Shinichi.
Sonoko, unaware of the truth, squinted at Ran and said, "Honestly, you've brought friends you haven't seen in ages and neighbors, but why didn't you invite your husband?"
In Sonoko's eyes, Ran and Shinichi are definitely a couple. Although they keep trying to deny it, their credibility is really low. Almost everyone in the high school knows that high school detective Shinichi Kudo has a childhood friend named Ran Mouri.
"So, you didn't just invite me alone," Conan said, looking up at Ran while wearing a mask.
Ran turned around in surprise and said, "Conan, you're here too!"
After speaking with Conan, Ran said to Kouyu, who was standing next to Conan, "Kouyu, I'm also very happy that you came."
Guangyou stood to the side and smiled in response, thinking to himself, "So he knew after all."
From Ran's two simple sentences, Mitsuyu clearly noticed the difference in tone. Ran's tone was more like an older sister's concern for her younger brother, while her tone towards Conan showed a hint of affection.
Uncle Mori rubbed Conan's head and said, "This kid's still sick from a cold, but he insisted on coming. I can't stand it."
Hearing this, Ran was visibly even happier, but she still asked with concern, "Conan, are you alright? Why don't you go back and rest?"
"I'm fine."
Conan's voice was slightly hoarse, and it was clear that he still had a cold.
"Xiao Lan, could you come over here for a moment? I'd like to discuss the opening lines with you."
Not far away, Shinichi Araide's voice came from nearby. Seeing that Conan insisted on staying, Ran nodded in agreement and ran to Shinichi Araide's side, ready to discuss the lines with him.
