Chapter 1154 Exposure

At that moment, Conan was looking at the invitation.

After hanging up the phone, Professor Agasa walked back to Conan's side and asked:

"Shinichi, you'll probably be going to that ghost ship for the party too, right?"

After carefully examining the invitation in his hand, Conan said:

"Yes, we do have that plan."

"But I feel there's something wrong with the sender's name."

He looked up at Ai, who was sitting next to Kōyū, and said:

"I think Haibara should know better than I do."

"Because vermouth, gin, and vodka are all names of a type of alcohol."

Ai Haibara didn't react to this. She said:

"Unfortunately, I've never heard of that name."

"Besides, I don't know much about alcohol."

Although Conan doesn't drink alcohol and doesn't drink, he has learned some about alcohol in order to expand his knowledge base.

As he looked at the invitation, he explained the information to everyone:

Vermouth is a flavored wine made by using aromatic plants as a base of wine.

It is generally believed that vermouth originated in Italy.

"It remains the most famous vermouth produced in Italy to this day."

"Vermouth is the English name for this type of liquor."

"Due to some special reasons, Vermouth is also translated as bittersweet wine in some places."

"These are two completely different types of wine."

Absinthe is a strong spirit with an anise flavor.

"The alcohol content is at least 45 percent and can be as high as 89.9 percent."

"And Vermouth has another name in Japan."

After explaining a bunch of irrelevant facts, Conan finally got to the point.

After glancing at the two of them, he said another way of addressing them:

"In Japan, Vermouth is usually called 'Vermouth'."

"Now you know, right?"

Upon hearing this name, Ai's pupils constricted sharply.

It was as if I had heard something incredibly terrifying.

She instinctively moved closer to Guangyou, gripping his hand tightly without any sense of force.

Feeling the strength in his hand, Kōyū raised his hand and put his arm around Ai's shoulder.

Then he rolled his eyes at Conan.

Ignoring Kou's eye roll, Conan chuckled and continued looking down at the invitation.

He then spoke up:

"Indeed, it seems you should recognize this name."

"That means the person who sent this invitation is also a member of that organization."

Upon hearing this, Professor Agasa became somewhat nervous:

"So, in that case, this invitation to the party..."

"yes."

After nodding in agreement, Conan said in a relaxed tone:

"This party is probably a trap set by Vermouth."

"I don't know if they were fully prepared or if they simply didn't want to wait any longer."

"If you don't go, you'll never know."

At that moment, Ai suddenly spoke up and asked:

"You've decided to go?"

"You know, if you go there, you might never come back."

"This is a trap they set, just waiting for you to have this thought and jump in yourself."

Conan certainly knows these things.

But he still didn't change his mind.

He explained:

"Yes, that's possible."

"And the possibility is quite high."

“But if I don’t go, I’ll never make any progress.”

"So, I'm still going to the party this time."

Even knowing it's a trap.

"Then you shouldn't have gone." Ai didn't want to drag others down with you.

She took a deep breath, as if she had made a decision, and proposed:

"Let me attend this party."

"Since I developed the drug, let me handle it."

"You should stay here."

After saying that, Conan and Mitsuyu exchanged a glance.

Immediately afterwards, Kōyū tugged at Ai's sleeve, indicating that he wanted to say a few words to her.

After glancing at the two of them, Ai didn't say anything more, got up and walked out with Kōyū.

...

Upon entering the courtyard, where there were no listening devices, Guangyou spoke up:

"Ai, don't try to persuade him anymore."

"He won't change his mind."

“If I weren’t here, I would even think he would use a tranquilizer gun.”

Upon hearing this, Ai shared her thoughts with Kousuke:

"I just don't want people who have nothing to do with these things to get involved in them again."

"And it was at the risk of his life."

Even if she didn't say it, Kwang-yu knew very well.

But he still said to Ai:

"He is ready."

"Besides, we won't be that reckless."

After saying that, he gave a meaningful smile.

Seeing that smile, Ai frowned slightly, a sense of doubt creeping into her heart.

She asked softly:

"Could it be that you already have...?"

"Shh." Kwang-woo put his finger to his lips, making a shushing gesture.

This action is also telling Ai that she was right.

Remembering Ai's reaction when she heard 'Vermouth' earlier, Kōyū suddenly stepped forward and hugged Ai.

Before Ai could ask why, he said:

“You reacted strongly when you heard that name just now.”

"I think she really wants to kill you."

"But it didn't work out for various reasons, and you were a little afraid of her because of it."
