Chapter 1240 Behind the Colors

After breakfast, the three of them set off for school.

On the way, I met up with Sonoko and picked up Ai.

The five people were divided into three groups.

One of the groups was a best friend group consisting of Xiaolan and Yuanzi.

The two of them would get together and chat about what happened to them on the weekend, the TV series or variety shows they both watched, or something else.

...

The other group is a group of single guys that Conan makes all by himself.

Although Conan's older version is Shinichi Kudo, and Ran likes him, he also likes Ran.

However, the two of them haven't confessed their feelings yet, and haven't broken through that barrier.

Therefore, Conan is still single.

Conan said he was already used to this situation.

He walked down the street with his hands in his pockets, his eyes scanning the passersby, trying to guess their professions and their current moods.

The purpose of doing this is to keep the mind active and to practice observing details.

On the other hand, he was also a little bored, so he found something to do.

...

As for the last group, it is of course the couple consisting of Kousuke and Ai.

The two were talking about dresses.

On the main road, Xiaolan and Yuanzi were still walking ahead, but they weren't holding hands; they were just walking together.

Walking beside Ai, Kōyū was showing off his tuxedo to her, saying:

"Although there isn't anything particularly fancy about the pattern, and you haven't worn it before, I feel that the dress would definitely suit you."

"Besides you, no one else is suitable."

"Is it already finished?" Ai was really looking forward to the dress.

"Okay." Guangyou nodded and said, "I'll show it to you when we get to school."

"Okay." Ai nodded in agreement.

Seeing that Ran and Sonoko were walking ahead and not paying attention to them, Kōyū lowered his voice and asked Ai:

Did you wear that thing?

While they were outside, Guangyou didn't directly ask, "Did you wear the diamond ring?"

"I'm wearing it." Ai pointed to her neck.

Upon hearing this answer, Guangyou's expectant expression turned into a smile, and he said:

"Just wear it."

“I don’t usually pick them,” Ai said to Kousuke, knowing what he was thinking.

"Mm." Kōyū turned his head and nodded with a smile to Ai.

...

Upon entering the classroom, Mitsuyoshi and Ai greeted Ayumi and the others with "Good morning," and then sat down in their respective seats.

A while ago, Kōyū specially moved his seat next to Ai Haibara.

So now he and Ai are deskmates.

"Eat quickly, it should still be warm." Guangyou placed the bento box containing xiaolongbao on Xiaoai's table.

"Um."

After receiving Ai's response, Kōyū sat down in his seat and took out the notebook with the dress he had drawn on it, as well as drawing tools such as pens and erasers, from his bag.

When they turned to that page, Kōyū tugged at Ai and pushed the notebook in front of her.

He asked Ai:

"It's not colored yet, just looking at the line art, Ai, what do you think?"

After looking at it carefully, Ai nodded and replied:

"I think it's pretty good, but I don't know how it will look after coloring."

I showed the line art to Ai Haibara so I could get her opinion first.

If possible, he would proceed to the next step; if Ai had other ideas, he would discuss them with her and make modifications.

Since Ai thought it was good, he colored the line art.

"You eat first, I'll add some color."

"Um."

He picked out a light purple one from the many colored pencils, told Ai, and then started coloring the line drawing.

Ai sat next to Kousuke, eating her breakfast while watching him color.

The dress is not complicated; it only comes in a few colors.

Once the line art is finalized, the rest is just filling in the colors.

Aside from the fact that the texture of the black lace dress requires a certain level of drawing skill to capture, the rest of the coloring work is really easy for anyone with a hand.

This is true; it's not something Guangyou made up.

It took Guangyou nearly ten minutes to finish coloring the dress and other accessories, such as the shoes and the lace decorations on the head, before the first class started.

After taking a look at the results, Guangyou is quite satisfied.

It was no different from what he had in mind.

It can be said that he perfectly expressed the ideas in his mind on paper in the visual way of drawing.

I wonder what Ai Haibara thinks of this dress.

By now, Ai had already finished eating the xiaolongbao and was sitting next to Guangyou watching him color the dumplings.

She saw the final design of the dress immediately.

Before Kwang-woo could ask, she took the initiative to express her opinion on the dress, saying:

"I quite like this dress."

"It's very simple, and quite low-key."

She really liked the dress, but not because of Kōyū.

However, she also had some questions.

After expressing her opinion, Ai asked Kousuke:

Why did you choose light purple?

She was simply curious; she didn't have any objection to the color Guangyou had chosen.

"I actually wanted white, but white..."

Halfway through his explanation, Kōyū glanced meaningfully at Ai, suppressed a smile, and continued explaining:

"It's not time to use white yet."

Feeling Kōyū's gaze, connecting it to the word "white," and recalling some events from the day she first asked Kōyū out on a date, Ai suddenly understood the meaning behind Kōyū's words.
