Chapter 1250 The Moonlight Is Beautiful Tonight

"It's settled!" Guangyou's face cleared of worry, and he smiled, saying, "Then let's just leave it at that."

He was worried about Ai's health.

Staying up late can cause many health problems.

Sudden cardiac death is one of them.

He didn't need to explain to Ai the dangers of staying up late.

Ai Haibara definitely knows more about this than he does, after all, she's a professional.

He didn't want to keep nagging about it, and Ai had her reasons for staying up late.

Since Ai has already agreed to his request, let's put this matter behind us.

"Mm." Ai nodded, a smile hidden in her beautiful eyes.

"Speaking of which, Ai, were you worried that I would be angry about this?" Kōyū asked Ai in a teasing tone.

He said:

"You seemed eager to explain to me just now."

"You...you're mistaken." Ai blushed slightly, though it wasn't very noticeable in the darkness.

She denied it:

"I'm not worried."

"You're a grown man, why would I worry about you?"

"Oh?" Kōyū raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you worried at all?"

"Yes," Ai emphasized repeatedly, "I'm not worried."

You misheard me.

“I’m not worried.”

"Absolutely not."

“...”

If Ai had only denied it once, coupled with the calm expression on her face, it would have been somewhat convincing.

But after she said it so many times, even that last bit of persuasiveness disappeared.

In Guangyou's eyes, this wasn't a denial, but rather an embarrassment at admitting it; it was a display of pride.

This girl is so arrogant.

"Really?" Kōyū leaned closer and asked Ai again.

"Just a little bit worried." Ai avoided Kousuke's gaze, her voice slightly weaker than before, sounding less confident.

"Just a little bit?" Guangyou pretended to clutch his chest and said, "I don't know why, but my chest suddenly hurts a little."

His acting was so exaggerated, how could Ai not see that Kousuke was faking it?

Even though she knew it was fake, after hesitating for a moment, she still went along with Guangyou's idea and admitted it, saying:

"Okay, I was just a little...very...worried that you were angry."

"Hehe..." Guangyou laughed out with great satisfaction.

"Are you satisfied now?" Ai's expression was a little unnatural, but her tone was no weaker.

"Satisfied, very satisfied!" Guangyou nodded with a smile.

He especially liked Ai's tsundere demeanor, and her shy expression when he indirectly acknowledged her tsundere nature.

That's really cute.

"Honestly," Ai pouted, "I just can't do anything with you."

Her tone sounded like she was helpless towards Guangyou, but the slight upturn of her lips, which quickly returned to calm, betrayed her true feelings.

The two sat in the courtyard, enjoying the night view and chatting.

As they were talking, Kōyū suddenly heard Ai say to him:

"Kuangyou, the wind seems a bit strong, I... I feel a little cold."

If someone doesn't know how to seize an opportunity, they'll probably immediately say:

"Then let's go inside."

Of course, there is nothing wrong with the statement itself.

But if it's possible to distinguish whether the girl is genuinely cold or just pretending, then there's another option.

His gaze swept over Ai, and Kōyū immediately discerned the truth from the falsehood.

He then opened his arms and said to Ai:

"Well, if you don't mind, why don't you lie in my arms for a while?"

"I think it should be quite warm."

Instead of immediately agreeing, Ai first looked Kousuke up and down, then shifted her gaze elsewhere, answering with a hint of disdain:

"So-so."

"So, are you going to lie down or not?" Guangyou took her hand and pulled her into his arms with little force, embracing her gently.

"Just for a little while." Ai shifted her body, finding a more comfortable angle to lie down in Kouyu's arms.

"How are you feeling?" Guangyou asked, then lowered his head. A strand of fragrant hair brushed against his nose, tickling him.

"So-so," Ai replied.

"Is it really just average?" Kōyū asked, looking down at Ai.

"Hmm..." Ai responded softly, but quickly changed her mind, "Actually, it's alright."

She said softly:

"It gives me a sense of security."

In the past, she would have been ashamed to say such things.

However, after dating for so long, and having said "I like you" many times, this statement is naturally nothing special.

"Holding you, I feel completely calm down," Kōyū said, pulling Ai closer to him.

"Mmm." Ai hugged Kousuke tighter, resting her head against his chest, and responded softly.

"The moonlight is so beautiful tonight." Guangyou looked up at the night sky, then looked down at the soft, fragrant body in his arms, and couldn't help but sigh.

A crescent moon hangs alone in the deep night sky, surrounded by a few twinkling stars.

The soft, silvery moonlight bathed the entire courtyard, making everything in the courtyard, from the cement path and gate to the grass and leaves, look as if it were coated with a layer of silver powder.

The moonlight was indeed beautiful.

"The wind is gentle too." Ai's eyelashes trembled slightly. After saying this, she buried her head in Kouyu's arms and didn't say anything more.

Upon hearing this, Guangyou paused for a moment, then a smile appeared on his face.

No one dared to break the quiet and peaceful atmosphere.
