Chapter 1259 Meeting you was my greatest fortune (Final Chapter)

With two days left until the final operation, Guangyou canceled his daily exercise and chose to rest and recuperate.

The injuries sustained during Gin's capture have not healed, but they should have little impact.

In this limited time, Guangyou prepared everything he could think of that would facilitate the action.

On the evening before the operation, he went to Dr. Agasa's house to check on the situation for the following Friday.

Besides gathering information, Friday also uses the internet to grow himself.

It's quite different now compared to when Guangyou first installed it on the server.

Therefore, Ai tried to give it some research and development work.

As it turned out, Friday's work went very well.

Not only did they not make any mistakes, but they also solved many problems that were originally unsolvable.

This significantly reduced Ai's workload and also accelerated the development of the antidote.

"I hope it can be developed soon." Guangyou sat in front of the computer, looking at the screen, and muttered to himself.

"Don't worry, things are going pretty well right now." Ai's voice came from behind to Kouyu's ears. "If nothing unexpected happens, you should be able to see the first generation antidote in the next few months."

"So fast?" Kōyū looked up at Ai, who had walked up to him, a hint of surprise in his eyes.

"However, even if we manage to make it, there's no guarantee that the antidote will be effective or safe, so we still need to continue improving it," Ai explained.

"That's still amazing," Guangyou exclaimed.

"Oh, right, I have something for you." Ai seemed to suddenly remember something, said it to Kouyu, and then turned and left the research lab.

When she returned a while later, she was holding a small box that looked like a jewelry box.

"What's this?" Guangyou raised an eyebrow, looked at her, and asked, "A ring?"

"You'll know once you open it," Ai said, handing the box to Kousuke and keeping him in suspense.

Upon opening the box, a necklace shaped like the letter "H" caught Guangyou's eye.

"A necklace?" Kōyū looked up at Ai.

"Hmm." Ai pointed to the necklace around her neck and said, "Consider it a return gift."

After carefully examining the necklace, Kōyū handed the box to Ai and said:

"Then can you help me put it on?"

"good."

As Ai helped him put on the necklace, Kōyū's lips curled up slightly, and he asked knowingly:

"By the way, what does that 'H' mean?"

Ai didn't hide anything from this, and she replied:

"Doesn't your name start with 'H'?"

"Oh, that's true." Kōyū chuckled, then asked, "Is that all you mean?"

"And another one, that's my name too." After saying that, Ai added, "My current name is Haibara Ai."

After helping Kōyū put on the necklace, Ai took two steps back, looked him over, and said:

"It's pretty good, it suits you quite well."

"I trust your judgment," Guangyou said, glancing down at the table.

The "H" on the necklace has been designed and decorated.

Although the design is simple, it doesn't look cheap.

Even disregarding the fact that it was a gift from Ai, Kousuke clearly liked the necklace itself.

“What a coincidence,” Guangyou said, putting the necklace inside his clothes. “The first letter of our names is ‘H’.”

"Are you trying to say this is fate?" Having been with Kōyū for so long, Ai immediately understood the other meaning behind Kōyū's words.

“That’s right.” Kōyū nodded in agreement with a smile.

But as soon as he finished speaking, he realized something and added:

"It's not just fate, it's a real miracle."

"A miracle?" Ai sat down next to Kousuke and looked at him.

"Yes, a miracle." Kōyū smiled and nodded seriously to Ai.

He also emphasized:

"I'm not exaggerating."

"Alright, alright." Ai teased, a hint of amusement in her eyes, "But I didn't exaggerate, are you feeling guilty?"

“How could that be?” Kōyū put away his smile, put on a serious face, and said, “This is an emphasis.”

"I'll trust you for now."

That's what she said, but there was a faint smile on Ai's face, which was obviously not what she meant by "to believe for now".

She shifted her gaze to the computer screen and began to examine and categorize the data she had collected on Friday, as well as the results of her calculations.

During the examination, she said to Guangyou:

"If I had had an AI like Friday to help me when I was researching APTX4869, I might have actually succeeded."

"Fortunately, they didn't, and that drug wasn't successfully developed." Guangyou imagined that situation and said, "Otherwise, everything would have been different."

"Um."

Ai, who was checking the documents, didn't turn around. She said:

"Those deaths caused by this drug that were actually attributed to sudden illness will likely remain unsolved cases."

"winery..."

Ai paused for a moment at this point.

Upon hearing this nickname from Ai, Kōyū smiled silently.

After giving Kōyū a disapproving look, Ai continued:

"The distillery can use this drug to control some greedy members of parliament, and finally use the members' status and the drug to expand its influence."

"How many of those aging politicians who want to live a few more years can resist the temptation of rejuvenation?"

"They may not be able to control this already corrupt country, but they can use these relationships to expand rapidly."
