The next day arrived in the blink of an eye. That morning, Uncle Mori got up unusually early. He was determined to find some clues and solve the case.
After Kōyū repeatedly assured Uncle Mori that he would be going as a junior assistant, Uncle Mori reluctantly agreed to let Kōyū go with him.
Ran had made plans to go out with Sonoko, so she didn't go with them. As for Zen Kōgen himself, he had already been sent to another house by Uncle Mori in order not to ruin the scene.
Before this, Takahara Zen had contacted the police, but after several days of investigation, they found no clues. So the police recommended Uncle Mori to him, claiming that there was no case that Uncle Mori couldn't solve. Only after hearing this did Takahara Zen go to see Uncle Mori.
Uncle Mori decided to start looking for suspicious footprints or anything like that from the outer yard. Although he had checked yesterday, who could guarantee that he hadn't missed anything?
Guangyou started searching from the first floor. The two had different tasks, and the first room Guangyou checked was the reception room.
After entering the reception room wearing white gloves, Kwang-woo first carefully observed the general situation of the reception room. There was a wooden table in the center of the reception room with rounded corners. Because it was a tatami room, it was not very high. There were a total of six fabric cushions around the table.
Start by investigating the most obvious ones. The fabric mats are exquisitely made, and after checking two, no problems were found. However, on the third mat, Guangyou could see signs of damage. Guangyou was able to find some traces on the next few mats.
Guangyou secretly noted this point in his mind. Although it might not be useful, he couldn't let go of any detail. The round-cornered wooden table looked okay, but upon closer inspection, Guangyou could see white marks from knife cuts on the corners and legs of the table. The wooden table was made of green sandalwood, which is quite hard.
Guangyou didn't even miss the lights in the meeting room, but unfortunately, he didn't find any clues. In addition, Guangyou also ruled out the possibility of a locked room. Guangyou also felt that he might be overthinking things, but adhering to the principle of being meticulous and not letting anything go, Guangyou carefully checked every corner of the meeting room and found no problems.
Next, Kōyū checked the other rooms, and there were no problems with them. There weren't many rooms on the first floor, and Kōyū even checked the toilets on the first floor. As a result, apart from a few items showing signs of damage, he didn't find any other suspicious points.
The room on the right side of the second-floor staircase has the best natural light in the entire house; even the bedroom of Zen Kōgen has less natural light than Nanako's art studio.
Upon entering Nanako's studio, Kouyu immediately notices Nanako's easel placed in the center of the room. The entire studio is decorated with an artistic flair, and there are also green plants throughout, creating a warm and artistic atmosphere as soon as you step inside.
Guangyou walked to one of the sculptures in the studio, reached out and gently touched it. The sculpture was covered with a thin layer of dust, just like the floor.
“No one has come in for a while,” Guangyou deduced, lightly dusting off his fingers.
Apart from the messy footprints left by Uncle Mori when he entered the studio yesterday, there was nothing else on the floor: "The owner of this studio must be very clean."
Unlike other art studios, there wasn't a single trace of paint spilled on Nanako's studio floor.
After a careful inspection, apart from signs that the door had been forcibly opened, there was nothing else that caught Kōyū's attention. Kōyū then went to Kōgen Zen's bedroom, where he discovered something different.
Opening the bedroom wardrobe, Guangyou found several sets of women's clothing lying there with signs of use. The photo of the two of them on the wall above the bed also showed signs of being moved, as if the frame had been moved counterclockwise, which looked very unnatural.
Guangyou also rotated the picture frame counterclockwise, and when he saw the wall behind it, his eyes narrowed: "Interesting?"
Within the frame, there is a barely visible line at the boundary. Uncle Mori probably flipped the frame over, but he seems to have mistaken the line for dust that had accumulated on the wall.
Under Guangyou's inspection, he discovered that there was indeed a hidden secret behind the wall. Guangyou first placed his hand on the wall and pressed down hard, and instantly a square indentation appeared on the wall. Then Guangyou could push this piece of wall to the left.
After pushing it over, a space appeared on the wall where items could be stored. In this space, there was a box and an envelope.
Guangyou placed these things on the desk in his bedroom. Then he opened the envelope, which contained ten sheets of paper with various colored blocks drawn on them.
These colored blocks made Guangyou dizzy, but he subconsciously felt that these colored blocks could bring him closer to the truth.
Kōyū used the landline at the Tōkō Zen family's house to call Ai. The call was quickly connected, and Ai's calm voice came through the receiver to Kōyū's ears.
Kōyū asked, "Ai, I have a few pieces of paper here made up of various colored blocks. I have a feeling they might be some kind of code, but I'm not sure. I came to ask you about it."
"Tell me, what kind of color blocks are they?"
"Each sheet is composed of a number of color blocks, in different orders. There are two types: one is black, white and gray, and the other is composed of the six colors: green, yellow, red, blue, cyan and purple."
Ai, on the other end of the phone, fell into deep thought. After a while, she finally spoke, "I seem to remember something. This thing is called Hexahue color block code."
Do you know how to solve it?
Guangyou felt that these pictures looked a lot like the one about the TV having no signal, which made him feel dizzy and lightheaded.
