Chapter 151 Amnesia: A Good Thing or a Bad Thing?

The group left the room, and Guangyou told the others to go to the office to watch TV while he finished his big meal.

After the group went downstairs, Guangyou opened the refrigerator to check the ingredients. After making sure there were enough ingredients, Guangyou smiled and said, "Looks like I need to get serious."

Guangyou put on an apron, which was a size too big for Xiaolan's style, but that didn't stop him from standing on a small stool and using a square kitchen knife that was much bigger than his palm to cut ingredients.

After Guangyou cooked a meal once, Xiaolan specially equipped her home with a square kitchen knife. The square kitchen knife was quite heavy, and an ordinary child could probably lift it, but it would be very difficult to use.

But these were no problem for Guangyou. Although the potato was a bit heavy, it didn't affect his performance. Guangyou tossed a potato into the air, and several flashes of knife light appeared in the kitchen. The potato landed on the cutting board without moving. Then Guangyou wiped the knife with his hand and blew on it: "Showing off complete."

"I thought you could slice the ingredients neatly in the air with a few 'swish swish swish' cuts like in the movies?" Conan said, leaning against the kitchen door.

Guangyou didn't even turn his head: "This isn't a movie, you're overthinking it!"

"Then what's the point of you making this?"

"Life needs a sense of ritual!"

In just a few words, Kōyū had broken a potato into several slices. Conan curiously picked up a slice and exclaimed, "Wow, it's translucent! That's pretty strong!"

Guangyou scoffed, "What's the big deal? Once you see someone in China who can cut tofu into hair-thin strands, you'll realize that what I'm showing you now is just the basics."

Conan couldn't even imagine what it would be like to cut soft, mushy tofu into hair-thick strands. He sighed, fretting over his own lack of culinary talent, and then left the kitchen.

Guangyou smiled and continued his "great undertaking of conquering vegetables".

Soon, the aroma of food wafting from the kitchen reached the noses of the people downstairs. Everyone who had been focused on the TV swallowed hard, and Uncle Mori's stomach even started to rumble in protest.

For the next while, everyone kept glancing upstairs. Eri was a little better; her good manners allowed her to keep her eyes on the television. Uncle Mori muttered, "How much longer...?"

"Alright, you can come up and eat now!"

After some time, Kōyū's words made the Mori uncle, who had been waiting for a long time, salivate. However, he suppressed his desire and went upstairs with Ran and the others.

As soon as the door upstairs was opened, the enticing aroma made everyone's stomachs rumble in protest.

The group sat cross-legged at the dining table, which was already laden with food. The aroma of numerous dishes wafted into their nostrils.

"I'm starting!"

After everyone agreed, they picked up their chopsticks and started eating. Even Conan and Uncle Mori managed to suppress their gaping mouths when faced with the delicious food.

Guangyou went into the kitchen with a bento box, greeted the others, and then left.

Upon arriving downstairs, Kōyū immediately spotted Chiba observing from a car parked by the roadside. Chiba was holding a hamburger and a Coke, staring intently at the agency.

Kōyū stepped forward and handed the bento box into the car, saying, "Officer Chiba, this is a bento box I specially made for you. I hope you like it."

Chiba was stunned, but under Kōyū's insistence, he accepted the bento. After seeing Chiba accept the bento, Kōyū went upstairs. He hadn't eaten anything yet, and his stomach was still empty.

Chiba watched Guangyou's small figure, and the bento box in his hand felt heavy. The aroma of the food after opening the bento box made him unable to resist, and he immediately began to eat it in big bites.

When Guangyou came up, he was surprised to find that part of the table was already empty. He quickly called out, "Wait a minute, leave me some!"

...

It was late at night. Conan pushed open the door to his room to go to the bathroom. He glanced around and saw that Ran's room was still open. Conan went in and looked through the crack into the room. He saw Ran sitting blankly by the window, staring at the ground in a daze. The confusion on her face made Conan feel a little sorry for her.

...

The next day in front of the office

Ran seemed a little surprised when she heard the detective team of children offer to protect her, but the children's idea made her happy, and she said, "Thank you all, I feel much more at ease with you protecting me."

A simple thank you brought a flush of excitement to the faces of the three girls, including Ayumi. They enjoyed the feeling of being affirmed, after all, they were just a group of elementary school students.

Ai walked past Conan and asked, "How is it? Has she remembered anything yet?"

After receiving Conan's affirmative answer, Ai chuckled: "Isn't it more convenient for you if she forgets the past? That way you won't get exposed."

"Do you have any humanity?" Conan's reaction was intense. He had struggled with the question, but in the end, he felt that even if Ran knew her identity, it was better than losing her memory.

"If it were me, I'd rather lose my memory and forget that I joined the organization to work in narcotics..."

Before Ai could finish speaking, Kousuke took her hand but didn't say anything. Ai's eyes flickered slightly, and she smiled, "Detective, just take it as a joke."

"Hey, Guangyou, and that little guy with glasses over there!"

Sonoko's carefree voice came from not far away. Sonoko walked in and saw Kouyu holding Ai's hand. She raised her eyebrows and said, "Oh my, Kouyu has a girlfriend now!"

After greeting Sonoko, Kōyū led Ai, whose face was slightly flushed, upstairs.
