"He's just like you."
A casual remark stunned Conan. After a long while, Conan stared at Mitsuyu: "Can you tell me the truth?"
Kōyū nodded and then "honestly" told Conan about Senma Kyōsuke's situation, of course concealing the matter of the artwork.
What if Conan gets carried away with his sense of justice and tells the Japanese authorities about the artwork? It's not about money; it's about the ultimate ownership of those treasures.
After hearing everything, Conan lowered his head and said, "Was that the original drug? Those crows are despicable! They used so many people as test subjects?"
Guangyou understood his feelings at that moment, patted him on the shoulder, and then climbed into bed, closed his eyes, and went to sleep.
Conan sat on the bed for a long time before finally letting out a long sigh and lying down to sleep.
Nothing happened that night. The two of them got up very early that day because the holiday was over and it was time to go back to school.
...
"Ai, want to go out for dinner together tonight?" Kōyū asked, approaching Ai as soon as get out of class ended.
Ai picked up the book, turned to him and smiled, "No."
Seeing Ai's smile, Kōyū thought they had all agreed, and he was ready to show off his culinary skills tonight. But this was completely unpredictable.
"Ai-chan~~" Kōyū stared wide-eyed at Ai, practically begging for her hand.
Ai trembled slightly at being called "Ai-chan" in that tone. It wasn't that no one called her "Ai-chan"; Ran and Ayumi sometimes did too. But this was the first time a boy had called her that in such a sweet and coquettish tone.
She turned to look at Guangyou and said, "No! I have something to do, I have to go!"
Kōyū scratched his head, wondering what was wrong with Ai. He began to reflect on whether he had done something wrong.
The first rule of Guangyou: Regardless of right or wrong, reflect first, then discuss.
"Well, Conan, you can manage, but walking alone is really..."
"No, I'm leaving now, bye-bye." Before Kōyū could finish speaking, Conan got up, slung his backpack over his shoulder, and left.
Kōyū, who was left standing there, was completely bewildered. He then prepared to go find Ayumi and the others, but before he could even speak, Ayumi, Mitsuta, and Mitsuhiko scurried away as if they had seen a ghost.
What's going on?
Everyone else is awake but I am drunk; this is what Guangyou is thinking at this moment.
who I am?
Where am I?
What am I supposed to do?
Kwangwoo, his hair disheveled in the wind, froze for a long time. After a while, he straightened his wind-blown hair, took a breath, and started walking forward.
To ease his somewhat heavy mood, Kwangwoo put his hands to the corners of his mouth, pulled them up into a smile, and began to sing: "If you're going to do something, do it the best you can. Don't wait until tomorrow to say it's a real shame. I know I can do it, and that's to keep working hard, keep working hard, keep working hard, keep working hard, keep working hard!..."
To match the song "I'm Really Great," Kwang-woo even made some gestures. A high school girl passing by saw this, covered her mouth, and laughed as she left.
As he was making his movements, Kwang-woo suddenly paused, stood up, looked around, coughed a few times, and continued walking towards the office.
Kōyū arrived at Professor Agasa's house, pushed open the door, and called out, "Professor! Are you there? I want to try out your new game software!"
After calling out several times without receiving a response from the doctor, Kōyū searched Ai's room and the laboratory, only to find that he seemed to be the only living person in the entire house.
"What's wrong with everyone today?" Guangyou was confused about what had happened. He felt that everyone was acting strangely, as if they were hiding something from him.
So he had no choice but to go back to the agency. On the way back, Kwangyu bought a lollipop.
...
Kwang-yu pushed open the door to the agency, but it was still empty. Kwang-yu, who was already prepared, sat on the sofa, turned on the TV, and plugged in the game software.
As the game started, instead of a game screen, the TV displayed "Happy Birthday."
"Huh?" Kwang-woo's eyes widened into beady pupils. "What's this?"
"Happy birthday, Guangyou!" Xiaolan and the others suddenly appeared from behind the sofa, each carrying a large cake.
Immediately, Kōyū's eyes welled up with tears. He pulled Conan close, buried his head in Conan's shoulder, and his body trembled from time to time. His sobs only made everyone's smiles widen.
Thinking of this, Conan's smile never stopped; he was already looking forward to the scene of Kouyu hugging him and crying with emotion.
"Da da da"
Suddenly, the sound of someone going up the stairs came from behind. Conan turned around, made a few hand gestures, and quickly hid to the side.
Kwang-woo pushed open the door to the office, looked at the empty room, pursed his lips, walked to the sofa and sat down, turned on the TV, plugged in the software, and prepared to continue conquering his Super Cat Mario.
As the familiar background music played, the words "Happy Birthday" appeared on the television screen.
"Happy birthday, Guangyou!" Xiaolan and the others appeared out of nowhere with a cake, just as they had planned.
Everything was proceeding as planned, but something changed with Guangyou's involvement.
Kwang-woo calmly turned around and glanced at them before biting into the lollipop in his mouth: "I see."
This reaction left everyone somewhat disappointed, especially Conan, who had prepared this whole thing on purpose, only to receive no response at all.
Guangyou took the stick out of his mouth, smiled and nodded at the group, "Thank you everyone, I'm very touched."
This is the first time someone has remembered his birthday and even prepared something special for him. Whether in his past life or now, this is the first time. It would be a lie to say he wasn't moved.
Seeing Guangyou's smile, they felt a little better. At least the preparations had worked, hadn't they?
"Then hurry up and make a wish!" Ran looked at Guangyou expectantly, holding the cake.
Guangyou smiled in response, then clasped his hands together in front of his chest, closed his eyes, and silently recited his wish.
After a while, Kwang-woo opened his eyes and blew out the candles on the cake.
Ayumi Mitsuhiko Genta stepped forward, handed a gift to Kōyū, and said, "Kōyū, this is what we prepared for you!"
"Kuangyu, you have to treat me to eel rice later!" Genta leaned forward and said earnestly to Kuangyu, "We prepared this gift with great care!"
"Thank you." Guangyou reached out and took the gifts, then placed them aside.
Conan also handed a gift to Kōyū: "Happy birthday, thank you for helping me before."
Guangyou smiled and punched him in the chest: "Of course, we're like brothers."
He then took the gift and placed it aside as well.
Uncle Mori stepped forward, looked at Kōyū with satisfaction, and patted his head: "Kōyū has grown another year older. I hope your uncle can see you on your wedding day."
Guangyou felt a warmth in his heart, but he didn't shake off the hand on his head. His smile became even brighter: "Of course! That day will come."
Sonoko was also there. She squatted down, her face unusually serious: "Kuyou, don't forget your big sister in the future!"
"What are you saying, Sonoko-neechan? We're all family, aren't we?" Kōyū said to Sonoko with a smile.
