Chapter 20 The Kidnapping of Conan Edogawa (Part 1)

Mari looked at Kōyū, who was wolfing down his food, and then glanced through him at Tatsuya, who was sitting in a wheelchair. A satisfied smile appeared on her face. Tatsuya, who was sitting in a wheelchair and thinking about something, seemed to sense Mari's gaze. He turned around and looked at Mari, and a smile appeared on his face as well.

Guangyou swallowed the last mouthful of rice, rolled the rice grains around his mouth into his mouth with his tongue, looked at the two people in front of him, and said, "Thank you for the treat!"

Mari and Tatsuya shook their heads with smiles. Tatsuya said, "I should thank you! Kouyu, if it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't be able to be with Mari."

At this moment, Kōyū touched his slightly protruding belly and said earnestly, "This time, thankfully, it was a close call. You two need to be careful. Although it's true that couples need some space, you still need to discuss these things with each other. Mari-neechan, you had the biggest problem..."

Tatsuya looked at Mari with a slight smile, but Kouyu immediately said, "What are you laughing at? Tatsuya-nii, you have a problem too. You said you didn't like her changing her appearance for you, you should have said that. No matter how much she likes you, she can't read minds. You didn't say anything, and you even did this kind of thing. You deserve it! This time, I'll teach you a lesson."

When it was Mari's turn to look at Tatsuya, Kōyū jumped off his chair and said, "Alright, I'm leaving now. You guys think it over carefully."

With that, Kōyū walked to the door, pushed it open, and went out. But then, holding onto the door, he poked his head into the room and said to the two of them with a grin, "Wishing Mari-neechan and Tatsuya-nii a long and happy marriage and many children!"

After saying that, he ran out in a flash. Although he didn't see it, Guangyou could imagine the two of them blushing, and couldn't help but laugh.

The incident can be traced back to the karaoke murder a few days ago. After Tatsuya received some emergency treatment from Mitsuyu, he was rushed to the hospital and survived. Mari, who was originally convicted of attempted murder, was exempted from punishment at Tatsuya's insistence. With Mitsuyu's encouragement, the two got together. After discussing it, they treated Mitsuyu to a big meal, which led to today's incident.

Back at the office, Kousuke looked around the room and asked Ran, "Hey, Ran-neechan, where's Conan?"

Ran seemed to remember something and handed a game console to Kouyu, saying, "Conan and his mother left. Before they left, Conan said he wanted to give this to you as a keepsake. It seems you and Conan have gotten along quite well lately; Conan is even a little reluctant to part with you."

Kōyū took the game console and sat on the sofa, a slightly uneasy look on his face. He knew Conan's identity; Conan was a name he made up, so how could he have a mother? He recalled the plot he had seen before and realized that this part of the plot seemed to actually exist, but he couldn't remember the specifics.

Guangyou carefully examined the game console in his hand and found that no game cartridge was inserted. With some doubt, he pressed the power button on the game console. Sure enough, after turning it on, what appeared in his eyes was not the game interface, but a map with flashing dots on it. Each flash would move him a certain distance.

Kōyū greeted Ran and said he was going to the professor's house to play and wouldn't be back to sleep. He then ran out of the office and followed the light spot. After running for a while, he found the map somewhat familiar and realized that he was near the Kudo family's house.

When Kouyu ran to the vicinity of the light spot, Conan, who was standing at the corner, seemed to have spotted Kouyu. He then tried to call out Kouyu's name, but before he could finish, his voice was cut off.

There was no one else on the street, and it was unusually quiet. Suddenly, a sound caught Guangyou's attention. He walked over to the sound and looked at the dent in the ground. Guangyou concluded that it must have been left by Conan. He then looked at the game console, and sure enough, the light on the game console started moving rapidly.

Guangyou cursed under his breath and chased after him, unaware that there was a figure with an umbrella watching him from behind.

Following the light, Guangyou arrived at a house. Based on his experience, Conan should be tied up on the second floor. Looking at the second-floor window and then at his surroundings, he felt helpless, as there was nowhere to hold onto except for the edge of the window.

However, Guangyou smiled and thought to himself that it was fortunate that he was prepared. He then took out two super-strong suction toilet plungers that he had bought on the way from his backpack. Of course, it was only the front part of the toilet plunger. Fortunately, it was a child's body, and the suction was barely enough to support Guangyou's weight.

After more than ten minutes, Kōyū finally managed to grab the edge of the window. Conan, who had just heard a faint sound, suddenly woke up and looked back nervously at the window. However, to his relief, it was Kōyū who came up.

Kōyū opened the window and carefully walked to Conan's side. Conan gestured to Kōyū with his bound hands, and Kōyū put his hand to his mouth, signaling for quiet.

Then he walked to a hole in front of the door, pointed, and Conan saw through the hole that there was a slightly overweight woman and a man wearing a black robe and a black hat.

Conan recognized the woman as Edogawa Fumiyo, who had brought him there. As for the man, Conan had no recollection of him. Without thinking too much about it, the voices of the two people outside reached the ears of the two people inside the room.

“My superiors said that its drug side effects were an exception, so I have to bring it back to the organization to study it carefully,” the obese woman began.

The man didn't respond. As if sensing something, he turned to look at the door of the room. Conan was startled when he saw the man's face: the man was wearing a mask. The mask didn't have many decorations, but the sinister smile on the mask and the narrow eyes on the mask made people feel a chill down their spines.
