Chapter 201 Goodbye, Judy

"If you can find this, that will be fine too." Guangyou quickly pointed to the machine that Kengo used and said to the man, "Please check the coin insertion records of that machine."

Although the man had doubts, he obediently went to check after Guangyou said it was the police's request. While he was checking, Guangyou paced back and forth.

After waiting for a while, the screen lit up and displayed a few lines of English. The man connected a tool he carried with him to the game console, pressed a few buttons, and a long string of English words flashed across the screen.

After a while, the man pointed at the screen and said to Guangyou, "This is the coin insertion record."

Fortunately, the machine clears the record every time a coin is taken out, so it's not difficult for Guangyou to find it; there are only three short lines.

Ai said, "Shouldn't there only be two records left?"

Guangyou nodded gravely: "Yes, the clerk took the coins before I started playing. I got one, and the deceased got one. There should only be two pairs."

He then asked the man, "Uncle, can I take a look at the coin box?"

Upon hearing this, the man handed the coin box he had just taken out to Guangyou. Guangyou looked closely and, sure enough, there were three coins in the box, one more than he remembered.

At this moment, Conan and his friends returned to the hall. Conan saw Kousuke with a smile on his face and asked, "What? You found out?"

Guangyou nodded and then shook his head: "I don't know, but I know it now."

"What do you mean?" Conan was completely confused by the conversation. What did it mean to know something yet not know it?

Guangyou pointed to the coin box in his hand: "I played it once, the deceased played it once, and there is one extra one in here. It is most likely the evidence that proves that the murderer is guilty. I have seen it. There are some sweat stains on the coin. There should be the murderer's fingerprints or palm prints on it."

Conan didn't react much at this point, and nodded: "I didn't expect you to not know that even the murderer could find crucial evidence."

Kōyū looked at Conan and suddenly smiled: "Anyway, as long as the case is solved, why care so much?"

Then, Mitsuyu said to Inspector Megure, "Inspector Megure, I think we know who the culprit is."

Upon hearing this, Inspector Megure looked at Kōyū seriously and said, "Kōyū, I hope you won't make fun of me, this is a very serious matter."

Despite Inspector Megure's distrust, Kousuke didn't care. He picked up the coin box and said, "I was playing before Mr. Oto died. Before I put in the coin, the clerk, Mr. Izushima, had already taken the coins. After he took them, I put in one coin, and then Mr. Oto put in one. Now there are three coins in the coin box, one extra. I think one of these three coins was definitely put in by the murderer."

Inspector Megure looked at the three coins in the coin box and nodded: "Why are you so sure?"

"Because this coin was one of the key tools he used to deceive everyone."

Kōyū smiled. After learning the truth from Conan, the extra coin he found had become irrefutable evidence.

"After the murderer found an opportunity to inject the poison into Mr. Oto's body, because these machines are fixed, no one would actually notice anything unusual. Taking advantage of this time, the murderer reselected the character that Mr. Oto was playing by inserting a coin to start a new game, in order to make everyone think that Mr. Oto was the one controlling the other character."

Kōyū paused, recalling the moment when even he subconsciously thought that the character was being controlled by Kengo himself.

He explained, "Because the two sides would naturally choose the characters they are most familiar with to compete, all the audience thought that Mr. Oto was playing Caesar and Mr. Shimizu was playing Lucas."

Inspector Megure wasn't stupid. He frowned and guessed, "So, the culprit is actually Mr. Shimizu Takaho? After poisoning Mr. Obō, he switched their roles, and then Mr. Shimizu controlled Caesar to attack Mr. Obō's Lucas? But why didn't he finish him off in the end?"

“Because if you defeat him, someone will definitely notice that Mr. Oto’s screen shows ‘you lost,’ and then his plan will be exposed.” Kōyū grinned, looking at Takaho meaningfully. “You still don’t want to admit it?”

Inspector Megure also turned to look at Takaho, who suddenly sighed: "It was indeed me who did it, but do you know why I killed him?"

"I don't know, and I don't want to know," Guangyou said quietly from the side.

Gao Bao completely ignored Guangyou's words: "Because my sister almost went blind, the reason was actually due to vitamin E deficiency caused by malnutrition."

As he spoke, he sneered: "It's ridiculous that people still suffer from malnutrition in this day and age. My silly sister is like this because she has been working hard to pay off that scumbag's gambling debts and hasn't been eating properly herself. Even so, my sister says she doesn't want to break up with him."

"That scumbag said he would cut ties with my sister if I beat him in the game even once. I worked hard to improve my skills, but I still couldn't beat him. However, I regret it because when I came here, I heard that he was defeated by a little kid. After I took a look, I found that his skills had declined a lot. I could have beaten him fair and square this time, but I still did some wrong things."

He suddenly turned to look at Guangyou: "You're the one who defeated him, right? Little brother."

Guangyou smiled, neither confirming nor denying, and said, "Actually, his skills are very poor."
