Chapter 218 My kidneys!

Under the robbers' direction, the car slowly started moving. The original sign on the car had been replaced with a sign indicating that it was on its way back, so that the car could legitimately not stop at the station.

After dealing with the car, another robber pointed a gun at the passengers inside and sneered, "Now, anyone with a mobile phone, hand it over obediently."

The car slowly came to a stop. The reason was simple: the light had turned red. The driver contacted the bus station as the robbers had requested. It was the first time he had been involved in something like this, and the driver was clearly at a loss, but he still calmly contacted the bus station.

Seemingly impatient, another man wearing a blue knitted hat snatched the walkie-talkie and shouted, "We have hijacked your company's bus. We have only one demand: the immediate release of Kunio Yajima, who is currently in jail. If you do not agree, we will shoot one passenger every hour. If you understand, contact the police immediately. I will contact you again in 20 minutes. You'd better be prepared before then."

After he finished speaking, the green light came on, and without waiting for a reply, he hung up the walkie-talkie.

"Yajima Kunio is one of the robbers who attacked the jewelry store with a bomb last month, right?" Kōsuke thought for a moment, vaguely remembering that Conan had mentioned this case to him once last month.

"However, the fact that this escaped prisoner would risk so much to come back and save Yajima makes one wonder if it's out of loyalty or because Yajima has something on him?"

Guangyou leaned towards the latter, after all, in this era, once they successfully robbed a group, they could basically live a carefree life after escaping abroad after a period of time.

"But it's said that three people escaped, only two of them are here. I can't remember who the last one was." Kōyū pondered, rubbing his chin. "I remember Conan saying that Yajima is a jewel broker, so I guessed right. These people didn't really want to save them. Either they didn't have a way to sell the stolen goods, or they didn't even know the location of the jewels."

A broker (桮客) is someone who introduces buyers and sellers and earns a commission in return; another way to describe them is an intermediary.

After thinking about all this, Guangyou suddenly felt like laughing at the man's actions.

He pointed the gun at Akai and shouted, "What are you doing? Take it out now!"

What made Guangyou even chuckle was that his brother-in-law coughed a few times and said apologetically, "Sorry, sorry, I didn't bring my cell phone."

"So he's just a poor kid." Robber A curled his lip in disdain. He hadn't expected the poor kid's true identity. He just thought that with his gun still in his hand, the poor kid couldn't cause much trouble.

Robber A turned to look at the old man sitting next to Akai, whom Conan mistook for one of the men in black, and frowned: "Hey, old man, what's that thing on your ear?"

"This is a hearing aid. My hearing wasn't very good when I was young, so I..."

"Woman, your banging is so noisy!" Robber A shouted angrily at a slightly overweight woman sitting on the far side.

The woman continued chewing her gum, her tone full of impatience: "Is that even a question? That's how chewing gum is. I advise you to stop now. You'll get caught eventually anyway. It's better to find a place to hide."

Upon hearing this, robber A fired a shot directly into the gap between the woman and the old man. Sure enough, shooting was more effective. The woman replied tremblingly, "I understand, I'll obey."

"Seriously, you made me waste a bullet." Robber A looked at the woman and walked towards the car. "Why didn't you just listen to me from the beginning?"

For some unknown reason, the man suddenly let out a strange scream and fell face-first into the feces, a move that terrified everyone present, especially after the shooting that had just taken place.

"Are you alright?" asked B, the robber who was controlling the driver in front, turning around.

Robber A, who had gotten up from the ground, rubbed his head and turned to look at the culprit who had caused all this, gritting his teeth and looking very angry.

Judy, the culprit, seemed unaware of what had happened. Only after being reminded by Shinichi did she realize what had happened. She clasped her hands together, her face full of grievance and apology: "I'm sorry."

As she spoke, Judy stood up and grabbed the other hand of the robber A that was holding the gun. Under the robber A's bewildered gaze, she apologized, "My God, what did I do? Are you alright? I didn't mean it that way. I just like to cross my legs."

"You! Forget it! Go back and do your job!" Robber A paused for a moment, looking at the exquisite face with exotic features so close to him, and then, considering his current situation, shook off Judy's hand and walked straight to the car.

As Judy returned to her seat, she turned to Mitsuyu and Conan and whispered, "This is exciting!"

Conan, unaware of the truth, rubbed his forehead, slightly surprised by the English teacher's nonchalant attitude. Could someone like that really be a teacher?

Even Guangyou thought Judy was very brave and decisive, and she had a firm grasp on the robber's psychology. If there was the slightest mistake, the robber would shoot her. Being shot at such close range would be difficult to save even for a celestial being.

Of course, she could subdue robber A immediately, but it would be much more difficult to subdue robber B who was controlling the driver. In this situation, she still dared to deliberately trip the robber and then deliberately go up to achieve her goal without being noticed. One has to say that she is highly skilled and daring.

Because of their concern for the passengers ahead, none of the capable people present, except for the bold Judy, took any action.

Vermouth, however, didn't care; she didn't have time to concern herself with passersby.

Guangyou didn't make a move for a reason, and of course, there was also a selfish reason: he was afraid that it would be even more difficult to deal with if it were exposed.

Moreover, the people present were not to be trifled with. His task today was not with these petty robbers, but with the girl sitting next to him who dared not even lift her head.

Conan had just taken out his earring-shaped cell phone and was about to dial Inspector Megure's number when he suddenly realized something. He slowly looked up and saw the robber A staring at him.

"Would you believe me if I said this was an MP3?"

Robber A sneered, grabbed Conan by the collar, and lifted him up: "Kid, what are you doing!"

At that moment, robber A was standing right next to Kōyū. Kōyū slowly flicked his sleeve, and a silver glint seemed to flash in the sunlight. Robber A cried out in pain, his hand loosened, and Conan fell directly to the ground.

Robber A, clutching his kidney, looked at the trembling Guangyou beside him and angrily shouted at the passengers, "Don't you dare try anything funny, or if I see you, bullets don't have eyes!"

After saying that, he walked towards the front of the car, supporting his kidney area. After taking a few steps, he remembered something, walked back, and picked up the earring-shaped mobile phone that had fallen to the ground: "I'll keep this for now."
