Chapter 238 Autumn Pear Syrup, Give Me an Invitation!

Speak of the devil, and he appears. No sooner had the words left his mouth than Conan pushed open the door and walked in. After seeing Kouyu sitting on the sofa, he said, "Perfectly resolved. The ending this time is alright; no one was injured."

"And then what did the police say?" Guangyou asked.

"There were no casualties this time, but they'll have to stay at the Metropolitan Police Department for a while." Conan shrugged; this was a pretty good outcome.

Guangyou stretched and asked, "Where are my uncles?"

"He went to check in the wine." Conan said helplessly, "He went to the market this morning and bought a lot of local specialty wines, but it's definitely impossible for us to bring them back, so we can only check them in."

After waiting for a while, Uncle Mori, beaming, pushed open the door and walked in: "Yoshi, come on in. I'll take you guys out for a nice meal today. Shinjo Maki's parents came by earlier and said they'd like to invite us out for a meal as an apology."

It was already 7 p.m. when they finished eating. Uncle Mori's steps were a little unsteady, and his face had a flush from being drunk.

After drinking some hangover soup, Uncle Mori felt better and was at least able to walk on his own.

After arriving at the station and buying tickets, Xiaolan looked at the time on the tickets and smiled, "We can go back to Tokyo tonight!"

Uncle Mori shook his head violently: "Hey, not bad, but my head is still a little dizzy."

Conan suddenly smiled and said to Uncle Mori, "Uncle, open your mouth."

"Huh?" Uncle Mori opened his mouth in bewilderment and asked, "Why?"

Before he could even say it, Conan quickly peeled off a double-sour plum candy and threw it into Uncle Mori's mouth.

The moment it entered his mouth, Uncle Mori instinctively put the sour plum in his mouth. A sour taste rushed straight to his brain. Instantly, Uncle Mori pouted, his eyes almost rolled to the sky, and his eyebrows seemed to be dancing.

"It's so sour!"

When Kōyū returned to the office after taking Ai back to Professor Agasa's house, Uncle Mori stood with his hands on his hips, his mouth tightly shut. He felt like his teeth would fall out if he opened his mouth.

Sitting next to Uncle Mori was Conan, whose face was already red from being pinched and who had a large pagoda-shaped bump on his head.

"Alright, kid, you better watch yourself next time, ugh..." Uncle Mori glanced at Conan and said with a frown.

Conan pushed open the door to the room, and what came into view was Kōyū's ambiguous smile. Somewhat annoyed, Conan shouted at him, "Hey, what's with that expression on your face?"

"Conan, you really know how to get yourself killed." Even Kōyū couldn't help but sigh. If it were just ordinary sour plum candy at that moment, it would be fine, as it was quite sweet.

But Conan got the double acidity version, so the sweetness was mostly masked by the sourness, which explains why Uncle Mori got angry.

...

The following afternoon, Guangyou looked at the news in the newspaper and blinked: "Three sports stars are coming to Japan to open a store? And this is making such a big deal out of it."

"You saw it too?" Conan replied, looking at his book. "That Hattori guy invited us over earlier, saying his parents had a cold and that's why he invited us. I refused immediately. Those kinds of parties are pointless, and it's in Osaka, so I'm not going. Going there would be a waste of time. What's the point of traveling so far just for a meal?"

"Professional boxer Ricardo Barre, MLB's McNaughton, and Steel Fortress Rekatis." Kōyū closed the newspaper, winked at Conan, and asked, "You're really not going?"

"What? Rekatis?" Conan's excitement was palpable upon hearing the name. "No, I have to go!"

"Didn't you say you were just there to make a quick buck?" Guangyou joked.

Conan coughed a few times and said awkwardly, "Compared to being a loser, it's more important to go see Rekatis."

After saying that, he picked up the phone and called Heiji.

"Hey, Hattori, I think it would be better if you went over there."

Heiji rolled his eyes on the other end of the phone: "Didn't you say you weren't coming? I can only invite three people: that confused old man, your girlfriend, and that... that Kōyū. Yes, that's the three. Go ask them for it."

"That's it, I'm hanging up."

Heiji felt a surge of secret satisfaction after hanging up the phone.

Now it's my turn to hang up on you, Kudo. You should go and beg someone else.

Conan put down the phone, looked at Kouyu beside him, and suddenly his face was full of smiles: "Hehehe, Kouyu, can you give me the invitation to the banquet? I really want to go and see it."

"Look at Rekatis?" Kouyu turned his head and looked at Conan with a smile. "No."

After saying that, Guangyou turned his head and focused on watching TV. The content on TV was not very good, and it was so boring that Guangyou started to yawn. It's a kind of success that a comedy show can put you to sleep.

"Guangyou~"

Kōyū shuddered, slapped Conan's hand off his shoulder, and sat a little to the side: "I like women, you're likely to misunderstand."

"Give it to me~" Conan stared intently at Kōyū, "I'll trade you something good."

Upon hearing that there was something good, Kōyū turned to look at Conan and held out his hand: "Let me see, what's this good stuff?"

Wait a minute.

Conan, hearing that things seemed promising, quickly jumped off the sofa and went out the door.

Kōyū turned back to watch the boring hypnosis program, wanting to see what Conan meant by "good stuff".

After a while, Conan pushed open the door and walked in carrying a box: "Here, for you."

Guangyou took the box, opened it, and nodded in realization: "Oh, it's a game console."

Conan nodded and explained, "My mom bought this in America and sent it to me. I just received it and haven't played with it yet."

Looking at the beautifully packaged game console, Guangyou nodded: "Okay, you can go get it later."

"marvelous!"

When Conan heard that Mitsuyu had agreed, he was so excited that he almost jumped up, leaving Uncle Mori completely bewildered.

"Did I make him stupid by disciplining him yesterday?"

...

"Uncle, let's go to Osaka tomorrow night for the opening banquet of the K3 International Hotel. I have an invitation!" Conan took a bite of rice and took the opportunity to tell Uncle Mori his request.

Uncle Mori picked up a piece of food and put it in his mouth: "Hmm? A banquet? Sure, where is it?"

"Osaka."

"Osaka?" Uncle Mori put down his chopsticks and frowned. "No, it's too far."

"You'll see three very famous celebrities," Conan tempted.

Uncle Mori became interested again when he heard that there was a celebrity involved: "What celebrity?"

“There’s professional boxer Ricardo Barre, MLB’s McNaughton, and Steel Fortress Rekatis,” Conan said excitedly.

Uncle Mori had absolutely no interest in the celebrities Conan mentioned and said without the slightest hesitation, "I'm not going."

Conan was at a loss. Even though he liked Rekatis, Uncle Mori didn't like him, and he had never even heard of the other celebrities.

Having exhausted all other options, Conan turned to look at Kōyū and gave him a few meaningful glances.
