Chapter 25 The Diplomat Murder Case (Opening)

"Sachiko Katsuragi, 24 years old this year, graduated first in her class from both Mitsuba Junior High and Mitsuba High School." Uncle Mori exclaimed upon seeing this, "What a top student!"

Kimie Tsujimura, the woman in the brown coat, said to Uncle Mori, "I'd like to ask you to investigate this girl's character for me. She's my son's girlfriend."

Uncle Mori nodded and continued, "Sachiko Katsuragi is currently studying at Toto Medical College, and her ambition is to become a female doctor who saves lives."

Uncle Maoli looked up and asked in confusion, because doctors are a profession that parents all over the world hope their children will become in the future, of course, this refers to a legitimate doctor who is not corrupt.

In Japan, doctors have a very high status. Doctors, teachers, lawyers, and politicians at the level of parliament are all called "Mr." However, doctors are more special than parliamentarians. For example, if a member of parliament loses the election and goes into business, people will not call him "Mr." but "President." Doctors are different; they are called "Mr." for life.

To put it simply, doctors are like fighter jets among airplanes. With such excellent grades and such a respected profession, Uncle Mori couldn't understand what Tsujimura Kimie was dissatisfied with, so he asked, "Excuse me, is there anything you're unhappy about with her?"

Kimie Tsujimura shook her head and said, "No, it's just..."

Kimie Tsujimura didn't dare say what she was going to say next, but Heiji Hattori, who was standing next to her, explained for her, saying, "It's just because she's too perfect, that's why she can't stand her, right? Humans are inherently suspicious and jealous creatures~"

Heiji paused, then said with a hint of regret, "People, when they see someone so perfect, will unconsciously want to find fault with her."

Kimie Tsujimura's expression was somewhat grim, as if there was something hidden behind it. She stood up and said to Uncle Mori, "In short, you'll know the details when you get to my house and talk to my husband about it."

Uncle Mori was a little confused. He leaned on the table and asked, "Since you're asking your husband, why didn't the two of you come together?"

Kimie Tsujimura, somewhat impatient, said, "My husband is a diplomat!"

“Because if others find out that a diplomat is here, it could cause a scandal.” Hattori Heiji slammed his hand on the table and said, “Fine, I’ll go with you all!”

Before Uncle Mori could even refuse, a bewildered Uncle Mori watched as an impatient Kimie Tsujimura walked out of the office.

Heiji Hattori beckoned to Ran to come along, but Ran honestly thought it wouldn't be very interesting. However, when she heard Heiji Hattori mention that Shinichi might also show up, she immediately changed her mind.

If Conan goes there, someone will die; this is a consensus shared by Kōyū and many of his fans from his previous life.

Conan tugged at Ran's hand and said, "Ran-neechan, I want to go too!"

Ran was actually fine; she had nothing to do at home anyway, and she didn't like reading mystery novels, so she just went along. However, Conan had a cold, so she asked, "Are you really okay with your cold? Should I take you to the hospital?"

Judging from his interaction with Heiji earlier, Conan knew that although Heiji was feeling unwell and didn't want to go, he was worried about what Heiji might say. So, Conan suppressed his discomfort and pretended to be fine, saying, "That brother's medicine has cured me!"

Hearing this, Ran didn't think too much about it. After all, she was just a child. Although she was curious, she wouldn't force herself to go with the investigation if she wasn't feeling well. However, Ran never expected that Conan was the Shinichi Kudo she had been longing for.

Looking at Hattori Heiji's smiling face, Conan muttered something like "that damn charcoal head."

However, Heiji definitely didn't hear any of this, otherwise he would have been beaten up.

Upon arriving at Tsujimura Kimie's house, they were greeted by a young and beautiful woman.

Uncle Mori clearly recognized her as the woman in the photo named Sachiko Katsuragi.

Thankfully, Heiji shut up Uncle Mori's big mouth, otherwise it would have been troublesome.

Sachiko was very direct; she immediately called Tsujimura Kimie "Mom."

Kimie Tsujimura seemed somewhat displeased and asked, "What are you doing here?"

Tsujimura Takayoshi was the son of Tsujimura Kimie.

He walked up behind Sachiko, put his right hand on her shoulder, and said, "I asked Sachiko to come. I forced Dad to agree to this meeting."

Takayoshi Tsujimura said to everyone, "Speaking of which, Dad hasn't left the study since just now!"

Sachiko was very kind. Seeing the crowd behind her, she politely asked, "Are all these people in the back your friends, Mom?"

On the contrary, Kimie Tsujimura's tone was not very pleasant. She said, "Whether it's true or not is none of your business! Besides, I don't think you have any right to talk to my mother like that!"

Sachiko was embarrassed to be spoken to like that by her boyfriend's mother in front of everyone, but given her good manners and current situation, she could only lower her head and apologize.

Watching the group go upstairs, Tsujimura Takayoshi looked somewhat displeased. After all, it's not pleasant for anyone to lose face in front of strangers. Looking at their retreating figures, he said, "What? What's so great about being a second wife?"

Here's an explanation: "续弦" simply means stepmother. In ancient times, the zither and lute were used as metaphors for husband and wife. After the death of the first wife, it was called "断弦" (broken string), and marrying another wife was called "续弦".

As they went upstairs, they encountered an old man named Toshimitsu Tsujimura, who was Tsujimura Akira's grandfather. Kimie Tsujimura instinctively asked, "Hey, Dad, you haven't gone out yet?"
