Chapter 26 The Diplomat Murder Case (Part Two)

"The deceased was named Tsujimura Akira, 54 years old, a diplomat, and there was a detective at the scene where the body was found," Inspector Megure said, looking at Tsujimura Akira's body. (PS: In the manga, the victim is called "Ikemura Isao," in the Japanese-subtitled anime, he is called "Tsujimura Akira," and in the Chinese-dubbed anime, he is called "Tatsumura Isao." Here, we use Tsujimura Akira as the reference.)

"Yes, that's right, Inspector Megure, it's me, Kogoro Mouri!" Uncle Mouri looked at Inspector Megure with a smile.

Inspector Megure was also thinking to himself, "Why does this guy named Kogoro Mouri always cause people to die wherever he goes?!"

Unfortunately, Kōsuke didn't hear it, otherwise he would definitely have told Inspector Megure that the kid with glasses was the culprit behind the situation.

"So, this time it's a murder case?"

Uncle Mori scratched his head, looking embarrassed, and said, "Well, I don't see any obvious external injuries on him, so maybe..."

"Can you take a closer look at the body? This is obviously..." Conan said, pointing at Tsujimura's corpse.

“Poison them,” Heiji chimed in from the side.

"That's right, that's right, it was poisoning." Conan didn't react immediately and subconsciously answered, but after saying that, he suddenly felt something was wrong and looked at Hattori Heiji.

While looking at the corpse, Heiji said to everyone, "This person was poisoned to death by someone. Look, there is a red dot at the root of his hair, and there is a needle that looks like the murder weapon lying next to the body. Although he died with his hand on his face, I think he was poisoned and then deliberately arranged like this."

Uncle Mori, not wanting to lose face, said, "This might also be his own fault..."

Heiji was a little confused because he had inquired about Uncle Mori's reputation before coming, and was told that he was "Sleeping Kogoro." Heiji thought to himself: Wait, sleeping? Surely that can't be too far-fetched.

Heiji turned to look at Uncle Mori and continued, "Don't you understand yet? Look at this body. The deceased's lips and the tips of his hands and feet have turned purple, and there are bleeding spots on his conjunctiva. These all indicate that he died of suffocation. But strangely, there are no signs of strangulation or drowning here, so the most likely cause is poisoning. Moreover, judging from the fact that the body still has body temperature and there is no rigor mortis or mortis on the body, he was probably poisoned about 30 minutes before we entered the study, and the murderer lives nearby."

Upon hearing this, Inspector Megure's first reaction was, "Who is this guy?"

Heiji took off his hat and said, "My name is Hattori Heiji, and like that guy Kudo, I'm a detective!"

Inspector Megure clearly recognized the name and said, "Oh, so you're Hattori Heiji!"

Inspector Megure immediately explained to the group, "You must be the high school son of Heizo Hattori, the current chief of the Osaka Police Department!"

Inspector Megure was already having a headache. He could tolerate Shinichi Kudo and Kogoro Mouri being one of his own before, but now that another detective has appeared, what about the dignity of the Japanese police?

However, upon hearing the name, he breathed a sigh of relief. Come to think of it, he was one of his own. Although they were from different regions, he was, after all, the director's son. Well, that made him feel even closer to him.

Uncle Mori's eyes widened: "He's the son of the Osaka Police Chief!"

Ran, watching Hattori Heiji's deductions, couldn't help but sigh: This guy named Hattori Heiji looks just like Shinichi!

Conan's cold was getting worse. Kōyū handed Conan a piece of paper he always carried with him. Conan took it, thanked him, and then looked at the dark-skinned guy who had given him the liquor earlier. His dissatisfaction with the guy grew even stronger.

"Yes, all the windows in the study are closed and locked from the inside, so it's practically impossible for someone to get in from the outside."

Inspector Megure paced back and forth in front of everyone, then made his judgment: "So, that means the suspect is the person who has the key to this room."

Megure turned to Tsujimura Kimie and asked, "Madam, how many keys are there to this room?"

Kimie Tsujimura took her keys out of her bag and said, "There are only two in total. One is mine, and the other is with my husband. He usually keeps his keys in his trouser pocket."

Megure said "No offense intended," and then reached into Tsujimura's pants pocket. Inside, it was indeed bulging, and the contents of the pocket slipped out.

What sent a chill down everyone's spine was that there were only two keys, one of which was in Tsujimura Kimie's bag, and the other was in Tsujimura Toru's pocket!

That's not the point. The point is, the door was locked at first!

Heiji's face darkened: "This is a perfect impossible crime! A locked-room murder? Ha, this is quite a challenge!"

Seeing the middle-aged man's bewildered expression, Heiji sneered inwardly: Sure enough, the reasoning in the newspaper was something he couldn't possibly come up with!

Guangyou shook his head, thinking to himself: There is no such thing as perfection in this world. Even the most impossible crime can eventually be solved by finding a clue.

However, Guangyou seemed to realize something, and his expression relaxed a lot. He muttered to himself, "That's right, what does it have to do with me? I'm not a detective. Let's leave this question to the two great detectives."

Heiji's inner thoughts were unknown to anyone. Looking at Inspector Megure, who was discussing things with Uncle Mori, he said with some displeasure, "What are you two still doing? The incident happened between 3:30 and 4:00. Instead of investigating the alibis of potential perpetrators, what are you standing here for? Watching a show?"
