On the opposite well wall, Guangyou saw a pattern corresponding to the tiger, which was a dragon-shaped pattern.
It's not a carving, just a pattern that resembles a dragon.
"Down here?"
Guangyou had some doubts.
“Didn’t someone go down to check the gold that Toyotomi Hideyoshi threw down before? If there was any, they should have found it.”
Osaka officials would never ignore gold thrown into a well; unless they were out of their minds, they would definitely go into the water to check it.
"It won't be like that again, will it?"
Guangyou touched his forehead with his hand, looking helpless.
He stepped on the tiger-shaped stone and pushed it inwards.
Thankfully, no stones were pushed in, otherwise he would have been speechless with frustration.
"If it's a mechanism, how do you trigger it?"
Guangyou calmed down and thought about a solution.
Perhaps he was overthinking things, but giving up so easily was something he absolutely didn't want to happen.
What if we press them together?
As soon as the idea came to mind, Guangyou ruled it out.
"If it were really that simple, those who came down to check but didn't find anything must be idiots."
"But let's try again, just in case."
Guangyou comforted himself with this thought.
"But how do I press it?"
He looked at the distance between them with a sense of helplessness.
"Take a gamble and your bicycle might turn into a motorcycle."
Guangyou sighed. The rope was already tied around his waist, so he wasn't afraid of falling directly.
After much effort, Guangyou managed to place his foot on the tiger and his hand on the dragon.
"So close!"
Guangyou could feel that his hand was almost at its limit.
Just as he was about to go up to find tools for personal reasons, his feet and hands suddenly felt empty.
This delighted him. After straightening up, Guangyou turned to look at Long and Hu, who were now sinking even deeper.
After waiting for a long time, Guangyou still hadn't seen the entrance. He blinked in confusion, "Damn, is there no entrance?"
"Or perhaps, underwater?"
Guangyou's heart sank; he didn't want to get his clothes wet yet.
However, he had no other choice now. He tugged on the rope to make sure it was long enough, and then felt a little relieved.
Imagination is beautiful, but reality is cruel.
He discovered that there was indeed a passage below, and the water in the well was flowing because of this passage.
The watch-shaped flashlight on my hand flickered, then went completely dark.
Guangyou didn't mind. He was going to go up anyway to prepare, just to get an extra underwater flashlight.
Just as I was about to go up, a childish voice suddenly came from the wellhead.
Is anyone down there?
Guangyou initially didn't intend to pay attention, but then he noticed that the child seemed to want to untie the rope.
The child was muttering something about how the rope tied here was unsightly.
That's why Guangyou could only shout back, "There's someone here!"
The child peered into the dark well through the opening, hesitated for a moment, and then said in a trembling voice, "You're definitely a water ghost! My mom says that water ghosts like to trick cute kids like me!"
"Hey! Am I even human?!"
"I don't believe it!"
The child pouted, his hands moving without stopping, and untied the rope. "Goodbye, Mr. Water Ghost."
The moment the rope was untied, a multitude of thoughts flooded Guangyou's mind.
"@!#$%^&*(!@#$%^^&!"
The instant he fell into the water, he had an epiphany, and only one sentence remained in his mind.
"Kid, your mom always raises the price of groceries, and she'll even double it!"
But what can you do if you fall into the water?
Guangyou held his breath and swam toward the passage.
Fortunately, the passageway was not completely submerged, and there was still a small open space above it, allowing Guangyou to catch his breath.
After drifting along the passage for nearly half a minute, Guangyou arrived at a very large space.
The space had been enclosed for a long time, so the air quality was not good.
The vast space was completely dark, but Guangyou could still tell that the entire space was made of stacked stone bricks.
Guangyou waited in place to familiarize himself with the surroundings, as it was too dangerous to wander around in an unfamiliar environment.
After resting for a while, Guangyou got up and walked forward.
To Guangyou's surprise, he had been walking for a minute or two and hadn't seen anything.
All I could see were stone bricks, stone bricks, and more stone bricks.
"That's true. Toyotomi Hideyoshi was buried on the summit of Mount Amida, not here. Perhaps this is just a pre-arranged burial site?"
"Or a treasure room?"
Guangyou still held a sliver of hope in his heart.
It is said that Toyotomi Hideyoshi's treasure left Tokugawa Ieyasu speechless.
As I walked, I kept thinking about Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
Kōyū didn't know much about Japanese history, but he had heard of the name.
Starting as a lowly soldier and rising to unify Japan, he's practically the protagonist template for online novels.
His life was quite remarkable, but he died soon afterward.
They died without any explanation.
Guangyou had been walking for several minutes. It was very dark around him, so he walked very slowly, making sure it was safe before taking each step.
"Hey, what's this?"
He found a coffin in front of him.
After thinking for a while, Guangyou picked up the pebbles at his feet and threw them hard at the coffin.
The instant the stone touched the coffin, Guangyou heard a series of whooshing sounds, and then saw many arrows strike the coffin.
Guangyou leaned closer to take a look at the arrow two steps away from him.
