Miwako's arrival was something Miyu hadn't anticipated.
After making the call, Kōyū went to find Mitsuiko. He needed to open the cabinet and see what was inside before Miwako arrived.
It's quite unusual that Mochizuki Toshio only had the moving company move this one cabinet this time.
What's more, it's unusual that he had to pay a moving company to come over for just this one cabinet.
The moving company's truck was parked not far from Ezaki's house, and Kōyū arrived in just a few steps.
Mitsuhiko was talking to the moving company employees.
The reason he gave was one that the moving company couldn't refuse, and Mitsuhiko bluntly said that the cabinet might be related to a missing person case.
The moving company staff hesitated to move upon hearing this, even though they didn't know if it was true or not, they dared not take the risk.
If they really have a connection, then their lack of cooperation would truly make them suspect of being accomplices.
After a while, Miwako drove over.
As always, he was decisive and efficient. He walked up to Guangyou and said, "Guangyou, where is that bald guy? Have you found any evidence?"
Kōyū shook his head, pointed to the cabinet on the truck, and said, "According to Conan's reasoning, there should be evidence in the cabinet."
Miwako nodded, stood in front of the cabinet, and took a deep breath.
Guangyou's eyes lit up; this cabinet was made entirely of metal.
He himself can't even guarantee that he can open the cabinet with his bare hands; he's not the Hulk!
Miwako clenched her fists, and the scene immediately fell silent.
The moving company employees stood trembling to the side; this woman had a truly imposing presence.
The two employees exchanged a glance, then turned to look at Miwako.
He recognized her from her eyes; she was a woman neither of them could handle.
At that moment, a gentle breeze blew by, and Miwako's hair rose and fell slightly in the wind.
Just as the others were expecting Miwako to open the cabinet in a way that could be described as violent aesthetics, her mouth moved.
"Kuangyou, open the cabinet!"
The sound was very clear, and Guangyou was completely bewildered.
Shouldn't the next part of the script be that Miwako goes up and opens the cabinet directly?
"After all, it's evidence, so it needs to be preserved well. Besides, Guangyou, don't you know how to pick locks?"
Miwako coughed lightly to hide the blush on her face, and casually made up an excuse to push Kōyū in front of the cabinet.
Guangyou rolled his eyes at her: "I don't have any tools right now."
"I brought it."
Miwako naturally took out professional torque wrenches and other lock-picking tools from her pocket.
Guangyou sighed, a dark line appearing on his face.
So everything was prepared.
He stood in front of the cabinet for a while, pretending to be an officer, thinking he was going to call the police this time.
After shaking his head and sighing about making the wrong friends, Guangyou obediently squatted down and began to unlock the door.
Locks in this era weren't as fancy as those in the previous life, and Guangyou knew he wasn't a master thief, just someone who knew a few tricks.
For locks from this era, a quick search on Baidu will yield tons of tutorials, and some even show people using large paperclips as lock-picking tools.
A few seconds later, the lock opened with a click.
Guangyou put the tools in his pocket and opened the cabinet.
To his surprise, the cabinet didn't contain clues, but rather Shizuka Omori herself.
Everyone present was shocked.
Especially those two employees, who were originally planning to ignore the child's words and just drive away.
Fortunately, they hadn't driven away yet, so at least they wouldn't be implicated in the case.
Miwako rushed to the cabinet, reached out and checked it. Her tense brows relaxed a little: "It's okay, she's still breathing, she just fainted."
"Mochizuki Toshio? I'll remember that."
A cruel smile crept across Miwako's lips.
Guangyou silently prayed to God for Mochizuki Toshio, but he didn't know if it would help, since he didn't believe in God anyway.
The two employees breathed a sigh of relief; the person was still alive. If they had really died, the sins would have been immense.
Shizuka Omori asked her employees to help look after the child and also called an ambulance.
Shizuka Omori woke up before she was put into the ambulance.
After learning that Miwako was a police officer, she hesitated for a moment before slowly saying, "The master was killed by Mochizuki Toshio."
Miwako frowned: "Grandma, think carefully about what happened. We will bring the culprit to justice."
Shizuka Omori had just woken up. She was quite old, and after a while, she recounted what had happened.
The whole "accident while taking a bath" thing is a lie. The truth is that Mochizuki Toshio killed his uncle Ezaki and then kidnapped Omori Shizuka to silence him.
With the help of Shizuka Omori, the police found Ezaki's blood on the three monkeys' collection.
Mochizuki Toshio was also taken away by Miwako.
Seeing the strange smile on Miwako's face, Kōyū felt sorry for Mochizuki Ryō once again.
However, this was just a spice in Guangyou's life; he would forget about it as soon as he turned his back, and he couldn't possibly remember it for that long.
Since Shizuka Omori went to the hospital, there was no need for the others to stay here.
Ai was still petting cats in the park when Kōyū asked her if she wanted to adopt one.
But she politely declined; these were her exact words.
“Nothing is certain yet, and I don’t want these cats to be abandoned by their owners again, even if their owners have no choice but to abandon them.”
Even with Guangyou's repeated assurances, she simply shook her head slightly.
She was very persistent on this issue.
Since Ai herself had said so, Kousuke couldn't say anything more.
