Chapter 330 Tonight, you and I

"That's me..."

Xiao Lan sat up, and a blush gradually appeared on her originally pale face, making her look more lively. "That sentence is my motto. I won't allow Dad to say it carelessly anymore."

Uncle Mori's face was full of confusion. He didn't even know what he had said wrong; he was just asking the question.

Kōyū glanced at Conan, who was shrugging his head, his face flushed, whether from the air conditioning in the ward being set too high or from some unspeakable secret.

Uncle Mori put the porridge aside, preparing to open it and feed it to Xiaolan.

Xiaolan waved her hand and said she would eat by herself later.

Uncle Mori glanced at his watch, thought for a moment, and nodded: "Then, Xiaolan, I'll come to the hospital to borrow you tomorrow at noon. Don't go to school these few days, just rest well."

Seeing this, Conan also got up and followed Uncle Mori, who had already left, saying, "Ran-neechan, I'll be going now."

Now that everyone's gone, Guangyou has no reason to stay here. He has to go to school tomorrow, and there's no point in staying in the hospital.

After leaving the hospital, Uncle Maoli first hailed a taxi back to Chinatown, where his rented car was still parked.

It was quite late, but Chinatown was still very lively, except that there were fewer families out and about, and more couples.

It was already midnight when they got back to the agency. As soon as Guangyou got back, he obediently took a shower and went to bed.

The next morning, breakfast was prepared by Guangyou, who got up early. It was the same simple three things: toast, milk, and fried egg.

There aren't any fried dough sticks for sale around here, otherwise Guangyou would really like to try the classic combination of soy milk and fried dough sticks.

Although he didn't see Ai yesterday morning, it's impossible for Kousuke to just go straight to school like that, unless he's a complete idiot.

Ai seems to have come to terms with it, and she leaned against the wall outside Professor Agasa's house early in the morning, waiting for Kouyu's arrival.

Good morning, Ai.

Kōyū greeted Ai with a big smile.

"Good morning."

Ai's smile showed that she was in a good mood. "Let's go, I'll go buy some breakfast first."

"No need to buy it, I've already made it, although it's quite simple."

Guangyou raised his right hand, which was holding a plastic bag containing toast with a fried egg inside.

Upon seeing it, Ai's icy blue eyes lit up with delight, and she accepted the bag with a smile, saying, "Thank you."

Conan walked ahead whistling, seemingly oblivious to everything around him.

The two followed behind and slowly walked towards the school.

While Kōyū was talking about going out to dinner last night, Ai was sitting next to him, eating her toast and fried eggs like a lady, occasionally nodding and chiming in with a word.

She prefers to be a listener rather than a complainer.

"Don't move."

Kōyū suddenly called out to Ai after she finished eating her toast, and then, under Ai's puzzled gaze, wiped her glossy red lips with his thumb.

"Seriously, they don't even care about their appearance when they eat."

This action made Ai blush deeply, but she didn't scold her; instead, she lowered her head and rubbed the hem of her clothes.

Conan occasionally turned around to look at the two strolling on the street, his eyes somewhat dazed. He suddenly remembered that he used to walk to school with Ran in the past, and it was the same way.

Xiao Lan listened attentively, occasionally interjecting. He talked at length about the cases he had solved, even though he himself had forgotten how many times he had talked about them. Xiao Lan still listened attentively with that smile.

"Come on, what are you standing there for?"

Seeing Conan still standing there with his head turned away, Mitsuyu reminded him, "It's almost time, don't waste any more time here."

"oh oh."

Conan responded blankly and followed the two.

...

After school, Kwang-yu, carrying his schoolbag, pushed open the door of the agency.

Uncle Mori was unusually well-behaved, staying at home without reading the newspaper or shouting "Yoko, I love you!" to the television.

He was doodling in his notebook, as if he were writing something.

Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be some nutritional menus.

It's obvious that Uncle Mori prepared it for Ran.

"Guangyou, do you think you can help with these? The ingredients have already been bought and are in the refrigerator."

Uncle Mori looked up at Kōyū, a rare seriousness appearing on his aged face.

"No problem, I'll take care of things for the next few days."

Guangyou smiled, patted his chest, and nodded in agreement.

It's just cooking, nothing special, especially since it's for my family.

It's 3 p.m. now, and dinner is still a while away. Since there's still some time, Guangyou went back to his room to do his homework.

At dinner time, Xiaolan was wearing pajamas and had shed her sickly paleness, regaining her usual rosy complexion.

Without much formality, during the meal, Uncle Mori repeatedly reminded him to be careful these next two days and to rest well at home.

Xiaolan seemed impatient as she said she knew and didn't need to be reminded so many times.

But the slight upturn of her lips also reveals her inner thoughts.

The night passed quickly, and it was time for another ordinary day at school.

However, Kōyū and Ayumi have made plans to wear kimonos to attend the summer festival, visit the temple fair, and watch fireworks tomorrow night, which will add a touch of fun to their peaceful lives.

At the dinner table, Ran had already said that she was fine, her fever had completely subsided, and she had made an appointment with her teacher to take a make-up exam tomorrow. She would also go to the summer festival with Sonoko in the evening.

The event is held once a year, and most of the younger generation participates. As for the older generation, they usually bring their children to join in the fun.
