Before leaving, Guangyou bought another serving of takoyaki, and this time he insisted on stuffing the money into the man's hand.
After leaving the takoyaki stall, Kōyū and Ai continued to stroll through the temple fair.
However, not everyone abides by the unwritten rules of temple fairs.
Genta and his two companions were standing in front of a game booth, the atmosphere thick with tension.
"What's wrong?"
Kōyū and Ai weaved through the crowd of onlookers and approached Genta. "What happened?"
Yuan Tai raised his eyebrows and pointed at the dartboard stall in front of him, saying, "We finally managed to hit one, but he said they've given away all the small gifts and told us to come back next time."
Ayumi, hands on her hips, said angrily, "That's really going too far."
The stall owner was a scruffy middle-aged man with his arms crossed, looking like he thought, "What can you do to me?"
To be honest, he got drunk yesterday and forgot to prepare the small gifts. He only realized it when he arrived. But he didn't have time to prepare small gifts at the last minute, and he was reluctant to go home.
After hearing the explanation, Guangyou nodded knowingly, took out some money from his pocket, handed it to the shopkeeper, and turned around with a smile, saying, "Two in the middle will do, it's that simple."
I picked up a dart that was placed in front of the stall and threw it casually.
"Smack!"
The next instant, one of the balloons popped.
The stall owner couldn't help but wipe the cold sweat from his forehead.
...
Ayumi was holding a teddy bear that was taller than her, and she had a big smile on her face.
She suddenly stopped, thought for a moment, then turned back to the stall and said something to the owner.
The distance was too far for the group to hear, but the boss's face was full of smiles.
A short while later, Ayumi came running over, carrying a black and white soccer ball, and handed it to Conan with a bright smile.
"Conan, this is a gift for you."
Conan was embarrassed. Looking at Ayumi's smile, he took the soccer ball and forced a smile, saying, "Ayumi, thank you."
"Money debts are easy to repay, but emotional debts are hard to settle."
Guangyou shook his head upon seeing this, looking quite mature.
"Unfortunately, this delicate little flower is destined to be heartbroken."
Xiao Ai nodded slightly and echoed.
Guangyou raised his wrist to look at his watch and said, "The fireworks festival is about to begin."
Ai nodded, glanced around, and uttered in a cool voice, "Let's find somewhere else; there are too many people here."
After telling Conan, Mitsuyu took Ai's hand, and the two found a quiet, secluded place together.
This idea wasn't first thought of by Kōyū and Ai. When they arrived, there were already several couples sitting on the ground, leaning on each other.
Even the heavens seemed to grant Guangyou and his friends a favor, as the stars that were usually hidden all twinkled in the night sky.
The full moon hangs high in the sky; the lively scene at the temple fair just now is the complete opposite of what's happening here.
"Haibara-san, so you guys were here all along."
Ayumi's playful voice rang out from behind Kousuke.
Kōyū turned around, looked at Ayumi who was half-squatting down with a smile, and said, "Ayumi, sit down with me. The fireworks festival is about to start."
"Um."
Ayumi sat down next to Ai, looked up at the night sky, and had an expectant look on her face.
At some point, as if by prior arrangement, everyone present who was wearing a watch raised their wrists to look at their watches.
"three!"
"two!"
"one!"
As soon as the words were spoken, everyone looked up at the night sky in unison.
At the same time, everyone heard a sound like muffled thunder, followed by a silver snake rising into the air and suddenly unfolding in the night, like a silver flower in full bloom.
The flower had not yet completely faded, but more and more fireworks appeared in the sky, varying in shape and size, but they all shared one common characteristic: they were dazzling.
Fireworks, from their creation to their slow disappearance into the night sky, have a lifespan of only a fleeting moment, yet that fleeting moment always captivates us with their beauty.
The entire night sky was illuminated brilliantly. Ayumi strained to lift her head, her big eyes darting around as if taking in all the beautiful scenery in the night sky.
"Haibara-san, have you ever seen fireflies?"
Ayumi suddenly turned her head to look at Ai and asked curiously.
Ai shook her head and said calmly, "No, but I really want to see them, it's just that fireflies are so hard to see."
Guangyou suggested, "Let's go back and look for it; maybe we can still see it."
Sitting next to Ayumi, Mitsuhiko looked at the girl he had liked for a long time, his eyes flashing with a strange light.
The fireworks display will last for quite a while, which is also the most lively and exciting time of the temple fair.
Some of the couples present couldn't resist starting to interact passionately, exchanging their bodily fluids, looking quite aroused.
"Let's go find something to eat. We just had some takoyaki, we're starving."
Kōyū got up and helped Ai up as well.
"We want to go too!"
They hadn't noticed it while playing, but now that they'd calmed down, Genta and the others realized they were hungry.
On the way to the restaurant, everyone else was chatting and laughing, but Mitsuhiko was the only one with his head down, frowning and deep in thought.
...
Inside a very ordinary restaurant, Sonoko was chatting with Ran, who was sitting across from her.
"Ran, your kimono looks beautiful today."
