Xiao Ai intently flipped through the book in her hands and replied, "Dream of the Red Chamber."
Guangyou's mouth dropped open, his face practically screaming with astonishment. He had read the book before, but he couldn't get through more than two chapters.
It's not that it's poorly written, it just doesn't suit Guangyou's taste.
Guangyou asked curiously, "How do you feel?"
Ai shook her head and closed the book: "It's a bit difficult to understand, and it gave me a headache."
Guangyou nodded in agreement. The book describes hundreds of characters, plus complicated family relationships, so there are quite a few people who don't understand it.
Some say that Dream of the Red Chamber covers too wide a scope, while others say that it doesn't reflect a certain level of life experience.
This is indeed a good book, undeniably, otherwise it wouldn't be considered one of the Four Great Classical Novels.
Guangyou took the thick copy of Dream of the Red Chamber from Ai's hand and, upon closer inspection, discovered that it was written in classical Chinese, which surprised him even more.
Xiao Ai reads the third chapter, "Her brother-in-law Ru Hai recommends a tutor, and she receives her granddaughter, Grandmother Jia, who cherishes her orphaned daughter."
Guangyou closed the book and asked, "How long have you been reading this book?"
Ai rubbed her temples: "It's been a week, and I've only seen it three times."
"It's not slow at all, and it's written in classical Chinese, which many Chinese people can't understand."
Guangyou was both amused and exasperated, and he sincerely admired Ai for being able to watch it.
Ai shrugged: "I don't understand it either, but with the internet, I can take notes, so it's still quite interesting to learn."
As she spoke, Ai opened another notebook in her hand.
The notebook was full of writing, a mix of Japanese and Chinese, and the handwriting was beautiful. Although there were some mistakes, they were minor.
Guangyou was filled with admiration: "You're really strong."
