“No need. I killed him. It has nothing to do with Mr. Inoue.” Arima Masahiko lowered his head, making his expression unreadable, and placed his hands on the judge’s bench. “He was still alive when I arrived.”
Then, Arima Masahiko recounted the true events of that night. He had indeed gone to deliver the glasses, and as soon as he arrived, he saw Otsu Toshiyuki opening the safe, but the lights were off, and Otsu Toshiyuki had been trying for a long time without success.
He handed Otsu Toshiyuki the glasses, and after putting them on, Otsu Toshiyuki quickly opened the safe. Looking at the piles of cash inside, Otsu Toshiyuki was very excited.
Out of kindness, Arima Masahiko simply said, "Thank goodness the money is alright, President."
As a result, Otsu Toshiyuki suddenly went crazy and started cursing Arima Masahiko. In a fit of rage, Arima Masahiko picked up an ashtray and smashed it to death.
He also used the money in the safe to pay off his debts, and the remaining money is still in his home.
After hearing this story, Guangyou felt a pang of emotion and said, "Indeed, being a smart aleck is a bad idea."
So far, Guangyou has encountered many cases where nothing was wrong at first, but the victims would say something offensive and end up losing their lives.
The case has now come to an end, and the court has announced the punishments for Arima Masahiko and Inoue Takashi.
By the time Arima Masahiko emerges, Japan will likely have already changed to a new era name, and he will have become a middle-aged or elderly man in his fifties or sixties.
Before being led away from the courtroom, Takashi Inoue smiled at Uncle Mori and said, "Mr. Mori, thank you for your help."
Noriko Endo also expressed her gratitude to Uncle Mori, her eyes filled with...
After organizing the documents, Reiko Kujo took a few steps forward, extended her hand to Uncle Mori, and said, "Mr. Mori, thank you this time. I would feel really guilty if the murderer got away with it because of me."
Uncle Mori reached out and shook her hand, then nodded. The delicate texture of her hand made Uncle Mori raise his eyebrows.
"It's nothing, it's what I should do."
Reiko Kujo nodded and thanked them again before withdrawing her hand and parting ways with the others.
Eri forced a smile and walked up to Uncle Mori: "Thank you."
Uncle Mori snorted, turned his head away to avoid meeting Eri Kisaki's gaze, and said, "I just don't want to upset Miss Endo, don't overthink it."
Eri Kisaki said nothing, nodded, and turned to leave. But shortly after she turned and walked away, a smile appeared on her lips, and her watery eyes seemed to ripple with emotion.
Ran rarely showed such admiration for Uncle Mori: "Dad, you look so handsome today."
Uncle Mori straightened his collar with both hands and said seriously, "That's right, don't you know who I am?"
The group left the Tokyo District Court and had just returned to their office when Uncle Mori used the excuse of wanting to drink celebratory wine to leave.
After lunch, Kōyū went to Professor Agasa's house, where Ai was doing her research in the basement as usual.
When Kōyū pushed open the door and went in, Ai was already asleep in front of the computer.
He walked quietly, took a thin blanket from the closet and covered Ai with it. Then, he reached out and shut down the computer before walking out the door.
Dr. Agasa was sitting at his computer in the living room, frantically typing away on the keyboard.
Ever since he learned about online chatting, he has become addicted to it. In his words, chatting with young people online makes him feel decades younger.
Guangyou agrees, but young people will gradually evolve into silly netizens in the future.
Without disturbing his mood, Kōyū went to the kitchen and cooked two bowls of noodles. He gave one bowl to Professor Agasa and took the other to the basement, placing it on Ai's table.
At the same time, Kōyū also placed a note on the table, which asked Ai if she would like to go to a hot spring resort to relax for a few days.
After doing all this, Kōyū left Professor Agasa's house.
...
In the pitch-black basement, Ai's eyelashes trembled slightly as she opened her sleepy eyes, quickly adjusting to the darkness.
The blanket behind her slid down, and Ai reached out to touch it. Suddenly, she smelled a very tempting scent.
A delicate fragrance wafted to her nose. She wrinkled her nose and sniffed, then, somewhat puzzled, she turned on the basement light.
The sudden light made her squint. After a few seconds of adjustment, she saw the noodles on the table, still emitting a faint warmth.
A bowl of clear noodles was sprinkled with some chopped green onions, and a fried egg was placed on top of the noodles.
The noodles weren't very flavorful, but they gave her a good appetite as she had just woken up. The light noodles were just the right amount to fill her stomach.
The note placed next to the bowl caught her attention. She reached out her delicate, jade-like hand and picked it up. The words on the note warmed her heart.
"Remember to eat the noodles when you wake up. We're going to the hot spring resort the day after tomorrow. Remember to text me if you come."
"By the way, sleeping face down on the table is bad for you. You should go to bed and get a good night's sleep."
She picked up a notebook that was next to the computer and put the note inside.
After putting the book down, Ai moved a chair down, picked up her chopsticks, and took a small bite of the fried egg.
...
Three days passed in the blink of an eye. After packing up some equipment, Kōyū went downstairs and waited for Sonoko and her driver with Ran and Conan.
Eri Kisaki ultimately did not go. According to her, the Bar Association suddenly gave her another case, and she was too busy to find the time.
Soon, a pure black sedan drove up from not far away. Before it had come to a complete stop, the window rolled down, and Sonoko's head peeked out from the window.
