After inspecting the scene and discussing it with the surrounding police inspectors, Inspector Megure concluded that this bombing was similar to the one three years ago, with the perpetrator deliberately targeting the police.
After seeing Inspector Megure assign tasks to the officers, Mitsuhiko said to him, "Inspector Megure, I brought a video camera with me today. I've been filming near the bomb, but I'm not sure if I'll capture any clues."
Inspector Megure turned around and asked, "Really?"
Mitsuhiko took a roll of paper from his pocket and said, "Yes, it seems the VCR was stolen just now, but the videotape is still with me."
"The camera has been found. Its tape was removed and then thrown directly into a trash can next to the station."
Professor Agasa suddenly appeared out of nowhere, waving a video camera at the group.
The only clue the police currently have is a videotape that Mitsuhiko hasn't watched.
Going back to the Metropolitan Police Department was out of the question, so he found a nearby electronics store. After greeting the owner, Inspector Megure prepared to use the machine on display in the store to check the contents of the videotape.
The videotape contained very little of value; the first part consisted entirely of Mitsuhiko's feet, which he had forgotten to turn off the camera.
The scene shifts, and the screen shows Takagi in disguise almost getting beaten up by Miwako.
Compared to Kouyu, who was quietly trying to stop them, Inspector Megure's attention was focused on Takagi and Miwako, who were in disguise.
Inspector Megure frowned: "Who is this man?"
Takagi chuckled awkwardly twice and said, "That's me."
Inspector Megure leaned closer to the screen, stroking his chin as he asked, "What did you say? Why do I feel like Inspector Sato is crying?"
The moment those words were spoken, the atmosphere in the entire store changed.
The police officers, who had been focused on the screen, all turned to stare at Takagi without saying a word.
Among the officers of the First Investigation Division, there were quite a few who looked fierce. Even just staring at him like that, Takagi felt immense pressure, but he didn't know how to explain it, and no one knew about the little grievances in his heart.
"Officer Takagi is so difficult."
Kōyū sensed the tense atmosphere on the scene and sighed for Takagi.
At that moment, Inspector Megure's phone rang, breaking the eerie atmosphere. Answering the call, Inspector Megure exclaimed in surprise, "What? An explosion at the intersection in front of Beika Park? Okay, I understand. Please continue your investigation."
After hanging up the phone, Takagi cleared his mind of other thoughts and said to Inspector Megure, "Inspector, the route of the explosion is the same as the route of the parade."
"This means that the prisoner may indeed be a member of the Anti-Soul Team, who came here specifically to cause trouble."
Miwako squeezed her way to the front of the crowd—not really—and the burly men around her automatically stepped back to make way for her.
Inspector Megure's attention was focused on Miwako's bandaged hand, and he asked, "Officer Sato, is your hand alright? I heard you burned it."
"It's alright, don't worry." Miwako seemed to no longer feel the pain in her hand and said, "The most urgent thing is to bring that criminal to justice."
After listening, Inspector Megure thought for a moment, nodded, and said, "Investigate everyone except Takagi immediately. Inspector Shiratori, have the explosive ordnance disposal team on standby. The perpetrator may have planted explosives in other places during the parade."
"Inspector, I also want to go to the scene."
Upon hearing that he wasn't included, Takagi became anxious and hurriedly reached out to Inspector Megure to request permission to go to the scene. However, Inspector Megure flatly refused him without even thinking, saying, "You should stay here and continue watching the videotape. Notify me immediately if you find anything."
“It’s better if you stay here.” Miwako had only taken a few steps outside when she stopped, turned around, and said to Takagi, “Oh, right, I have something to tell you later.”
Takagi froze on the spot, his mind racing with thoughts of the day's events.
The words Inspector Megure said to him, the words Yumi said to him, the unintentional words Shiratori uttered, the scene where Miwako was about to take action...
Like a boulder thrown into a calm lake, he had thought that things were going well between him and Miwako, and that they were going to go on a date next week. But today, all those thoughts were shaken.
Seeing his bewildered state, Guangyou sighed at his predicament.
Men value their pride, no matter what. If the woman he likes treats him as a substitute for another man, and he almost gets beaten up because of it, it severely damages a man's self-confidence.
Ai pulled Kousuke aside and whispered, "I feel like Officer Takagi is really upset. Do you think he'll give up on pursuing Officer Sato?"
There's a saying, "A long illness makes a good doctor." While this is somewhat one-sided and there aren't many examples of people becoming good doctors, it's not an exaggeration to use this saying to describe Guangyou.
With his hands in his pockets, Kōyū replied, "Based on my understanding of Takagi, he will back down, but he won't forget about Officer Satō."
Even if he didn't know what happened later, he would still give this answer.
Kōyū glanced at Ai beside him and said, "However, those who are destined to be together will not miss each other."
Sensing Kōyū's gaze, Ai quickly turned her head and asked, "What are you looking at?"
"Enjoy the scenery."
Kōyū chuckled softly, then turned back to look at Takagi, who was lost in thought, seemingly preoccupied with something.
"Hey, Kwangyu, what do you think?"
Conan was also somewhat stuck in a mental rut, so he tugged at Kouyuu and asked for his opinion on the matter.
