Ai sat on the sofa, changing channels as she casually asked, "What did you and your sister talk about?"
Guangyou replied in a serious tone, "Well, actually, the main topic of discussion was the amount of the betrothal gifts."
Ai looked at Kousuke and asked curiously, "So how much are you planning to give?"
Guangyou didn't answer directly, but instead asked, "How much do you weigh?"
"What?" Xiao Ai didn't react at first, but after a second or two, she said with a hint of temper, "Fine, you actually said that to me."
"Just kidding, I'll definitely give you as much as I have."
Guangyou chuckled and pointed at the light bulb, "I fa si."
"That's more like it." Ai put the TV remote away and turned to the side to say, "But you don't actually need to give it to me."
Guangyou shook his head, repeating the same words: he had already made up his mind whether to give it to him or not, and no one could change his mind.
Mingmei suddenly poked her head out of the kitchen, shook the empty soy sauce bottle at the two of them, and said, "Um, we're out of soy sauce at home. Can one of you go and buy a bottle?"
"I'll go."
Without a second thought, Guangyou got up and walked outside.
"I'll go too."
Ai turned off the TV and followed Kōyū out the door.
A smile appeared on Mingmei's face as she looked at the scene.
...
As the two walked side by side toward the supermarket, Guangyou thought about the troublesome matter from earlier.
Seeing Akemi intensified this feeling.
However, this is just his opinion, and he's too lazy to say it aloud, lest people misunderstand it as inciting conflict.
He quietly approached Ai and told her about this possibility, which made Ai a little angry.
"Do you think I'm a promiscuous person?" Ai stopped in her tracks, her tone full of dissatisfaction. "What's wrong with you today?"
Guangyou knew he had made a huge mistake and felt like a fool, but the feeling of keeping it bottled up inside was really uncomfortable.
He stood by the roadside with his head down, and passersby looked at this extremely strange-looking group with strange eyes.
However, they would only make up stories in their minds and then forget about them.
While Kōyū was reflecting on his actions, Ai stood to the side, her eyebrows furrowed as she looked at him and said, "Don't stand here any longer. There's a park ahead; let's go in and sit down to talk."
Kōyū nodded and followed Ai's footsteps.
The two sat on a wooden bench in the park, with Guangyou holding his head in his hands, as if he wanted to bury his head in his knees.
He understands the道理 (principles/reasons), but he feels frustrated and depressed. To put it bluntly, he's just making trouble for himself.
Ai's tone was much calmer: "You can tell me what's bothering you."
She reached out and placed her hand on Guangyou's left shoulder, saying softly, "You're acting strange today. I can understand the first question you asked me, but..."
Ai pursed her lips, paused for a moment, and continued, "I just don't understand why you would ask the second question."
She pressed on, "You knew about his relationship with her, and I knew it too. Besides, she's still my... Do you think I'm the kind of person who would do something like this?"
Guangyou looked up at her and shook his head firmly.
Ai asked in confusion, "Then why would you ask that? I don't believe you would ask such a question for no reason."
After thinking for a moment, Guangyou made up... and put together a story that didn't sound so mysterious.
"I had a dream, in which I didn't exist, and then..."
As Ai listened to the story, she frowned. The story that Kousuke told seemed so reasonable. If things were to unfold as he described, the events might indeed unfold as Kousuke had told them.
But later, when I listened to Guangyou talk about her, he even analyzed it in a very serious manner.
Ai also put aside other thoughts and immersed herself in the story that Kousuke was telling, trying to put herself in his shoes.
But as Kuangyou's story became more and more outrageous, she couldn't listen anymore and said, "Alright, stop talking. Why are you asking these questions?"
Guangyou shut his mouth, pinched his chin and reflected on himself for a moment, then said, "I must be jealous."
Ai asked, "Just because of a dream?"
Guangyou scratched his head awkwardly and explained, "Well, actually, I haven't been able to calm down for the past day or two because of this."
Ai looked at Kyouyu and clicked her tongue in amazement: "I never would have guessed you were so silly."
"It's probably because I didn't feel very safe before."
Guangyou gave himself a pretentious reason, but it wasn't really an excuse.
"Forget it, don't ask me questions like that again, or don't blame me for getting angry."
Ai reached out her hand to Kousuke and said, "Pull me up. My sister is still waiting for Soy Sauce at home."
Kōyū forced a smile, stood up, and reached out to help Ai up.
That's what he said, but the situation was right in front of him, and the knot in his heart wasn't so easy to untie.
The knot in one's heart cannot be untied in a moment or with a single word.
Looking at Ai beside him, Kōyū realized that he was being far too sensitive and pretentious.
He is very generous in other matters, but when it comes to matters of the heart, he is extremely selfish.
Seemingly sensing that Kousuke hadn't fully recovered, Ai took his hand and said, "I won't talk about the first person, and you know about the relationship between the second and her, but the third... that third person isn't my type."
