Outside Tokyo Tower, Miwako stared blankly at the clock on her phone, which had ticked to exactly twelve o'clock. Then she looked up at Tokyo Tower, her heart filled with unbearable grief.
This feeling is somewhat similar to that of three years ago, but she feels that the feeling in her heart is stronger now than it was three years ago.
Her heroic face seemed to have melted into water, and tears, which had not appeared for a long time, appeared in the corners of her eyes.
"Takagi!"
This time, she didn't use the honorific "police officer," and her eyes were filled with self-reproach: "It was like this three years ago, and it's like this three years later... It's like this with everyone I consider important..."
"Beep beep beep."
The ringing of her cell phone startled Miwako. She picked it up, her expression complicated. Her hand trembled slightly as she held the phone to her ear, her voice trembling as she asked, "Hello?"
"Officer Sato, everything's fine here. The second bomb was at Teitan High School, but it seems to have been dealt with as well."
The familiar voice came from the phone, almost making Miwako burst into tears, but she held back, sniffed, and asked, "Officer Takagi... is it safe over there?"
Takagi scratched his head, somewhat bewildered himself: "Yeah, I don't know what happened either, it seems like we're safe now."
He then noticed that Miwako's voice sounded off and asked, "Officer Sato, what's wrong with your voice?"
"It's nothing, I'll send rescuers over right now, you just wait."
A blush suddenly appeared on Miwako's face. She responded and then hung up the phone.
The next second, she seemed to revert to her original decisive and efficient demeanor, the change so rapid that one couldn't help but wonder if they had just imagined it.
"Notify the rescue team to enter Tokyo Tower to rescue Officer Takagi."
After making the arrangements, she picked up the phone and called Inspector Megure to report the situation.
...
Fifteen minutes later, Takagi and Conan were rescued.
The reporters and media who had already left rushed back at an extremely fast pace; it's hard to know where they got the information from.
They were incredibly excited because tomorrow's headline was ready:
"Shocking! Elementary school students actually did something like this to Tokyo Tower?"
"The untold story between elementary school students and Tokyo Tower."
...
Despite the sensationalist headline, they still had to interview Conan to get the latest information.
Conan had no choice but to put on a smile and deal with the media's questions.
"Actually, the main credit goes to those police officers. They were the ones who guided me step by step; otherwise, I wouldn't have been able to dismantle it..."
Takagi, who came out with him, didn't have the chance to show off like that. As soon as he came out of the tower, Miwako ran up to him.
Takagi lowered his head and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Officer Sato."
"What are you saying? There's nothing to apologize for."
Miwako chuckled and patted Takagi on the shoulder, "We still need to catch that criminal. We can't let him get away with this time."
Takagi straightened his face, a resolute look appearing on his dark complexion: "Yes!"
...
"Hahaha."
As the culprit behind Conan's outburst, Kōyū is now very happy.
He had just heard Conan's outburst and the image flashed through his mind, so he couldn't help but burst into laughter.
He never even considered what Conan could do to him later; at most, he'd just say a few words.
Conan's body, as thin as a chick, is really quite fragile.
Suddenly, he seemed to see something in the scope, and a smile appeared on his lips: "Hmm... Target appeared."
...
On a pedestrian bridge, a man leaned on the railing, looking through binoculars towards Teitan High School.
He wore an earplug in his right ear, which was connected to a portable radio.
He heard every single word the reporter had said.
"Heh, that's more like it. Why risk your life for some irrelevant stranger?"
"The lives of twelve million people are not worth as much as my own."
The man listened to the radio, a smug grin spreading across his face. "Five seconds left... 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... BOOM!"
He even added an explosion sound effect to it with great interest, but the expected explosion did not occur.
"The timing device is malfunctioning?" The man chuckled, took out his phone from his pocket, and muttered to himself, "Then let's detonate it manually."
At that moment, a deep male voice rang out behind him: "What a pity, your idea is probably going to be in vain."
The man turned his head and saw Inspector Megure and a large group of police officers, with Inspector Megure holding a red cell phone in his hand.
This phone is clearly a bugging device he left behind, and also his manual detonation device!
For the first time, a look of panic appeared on his face. The man, refusing to believe it, dialed the number, but the call didn't go through.
"Actually, your bombs were defused before we arrived, both the one in the elevator and the one at Teitan High School."
Inspector Megure didn't bother to hide anything and said directly, "In other words, your plan for today has already failed."
The man's eyes widened, his bloodshot eyes filled with disbelief: "Impossible!"
"Believe it or not, that's how it is," Inspector Megure shrugged and said to the police officers present, "Gentlemen, take him back."
The man wasn't about to sit idly by. After looking around, he noticed several cars about to pass under the overpass, so he started waving his binoculars around to buy himself some time.
