Chapter 438 A Light Kiss Under the Silver Moon

With a broad smile on his face, Guangyou took a long breath to calm himself down.

He glanced into the distance, then turned to look at Ai, and smiled: "I don't feel that way anymore. Now I feel very lucky to have come into this world."

“I used to think that way.” Kōyū slowly reached out and gently stroked Ai’s cheek, his voice suddenly choking up. “Now I feel very lucky to have come into this world.”

"Because in this world, I met you."

As soon as he finished speaking, two warm tears slid down Guangyou's cheeks and landed on his pants, leaving a wet stain.

A man doesn't easily shed tears, unless he's truly heartbroken.

While it wouldn't be accurate to call him heartbroken, Kwang-yu was indeed as he himself described.

He knew perfectly well that there were people in the world who were even worse off, but he couldn't get over that hurdle in his heart. He was always stuck there, always wanting to escape, always wanting to give up.

Ai's eyes softened further. She reached out her delicate, white hand to wipe away the tears from the corner of Kōyū's eyes and said softly, "Not long after I was born, my parents died in an accident."

"Later, when I reached the appropriate age, I was sent to study in the United States. I am of mixed race, and people abroad ostracized me. Very few people were willing to be my friends, and those children would often disappear inexplicably."

Ai Haibara looked nostalgic as she continued, "After I graduated and returned to Japan, I officially joined the organization and started developing drugs. I basically spent all my time in the lab."

"I also feel very unfortunate."

She slowly closed her eyes, seemingly recalling the scene at the time, "When I heard that my sister was killed by the organization, I really felt like the sky had fallen."

Kōsuke knew the rest of the story, but he didn't interrupt. Ai slowly continued, "You know what happened next. I took the medicine. If I died then, I died. If I shrunk, I went to find that guy Kudo."

"Now, I feel pretty lucky," Ai paused slightly, opened her eyes to look at Kousuke, and said, "Not only did I survive the medicine, but also..."

"And I ran into you."

After listening to her story, Guangyou smiled and said, "Luckily you didn't die back then."

"Perhaps it's fate."

Ai shrugged, looked at Kyou, hesitated for a moment, and then said, "Close your eyes."

Guangyou glanced at her, then closed his eyes and slowed his breathing.

Ai gazed at the face before her, a smile playing on her lips. She leaned forward, leaving a faint mark on Kyou's cheek with her pink lips.

The snow gradually stopped, and the moon peeked out from between the dark clouds.

The silvery moonlight bathed the earth, illuminating the forest and the profiles of the two people sitting on the steps.

Neither of them noticed that the villa door had been opened at that moment.

Xiaolan leaned against the door frame, a smile playing on her lips, her gaze fixed on the two of them, without disturbing them.

Suddenly remembering something, she took out her phone and snapped a picture of the two of them before quietly leaving the doorway and heading upstairs.

After they parted, there was a moment of silence; they looked at each other but didn't know what to say.

Guangyou caught a glimpse of the open villa door out of the corner of his eye, raised an eyebrow, and asked, "This door wasn't open just now, was it?"

Ai turned her head and glanced at it, her face instantly turning bright red, her voice growing weaker: "I think it was closed."

"So, someone was here just now?"

Kōyū, stroking his chin, made a correct guess: "In other words, someone witnessed it at the scene just now?"

Although Ai knew it in her heart, she couldn't help but feel a little embarrassed after Kousuke brought it up in public.

She stretched out her foot and gently stepped on Guangyou, scolding him playfully, "Stop talking!"

Guangyou shrank back, his expression becoming much more serious, and asked himself, "Who's here?"

Hearing this, Ai also thought of the question. Her face was still flushed, but her expression became more serious.

It's easy to get away with Conan or the police; you can just say you're telling a story.

But if it were Uncle Mori or Ran, then it would be all over.

Guangyou no longer felt the excitement he had felt earlier; instead, he was somewhat worried.

"Go back and take a look."

Kōyū reached out and helped Ai up, and then the two of them went straight into the villa.

As soon as he reached the corner on the second floor, Guangyou saw Uncle Mori and his group in the corridor.

"Uncle, how's the case going?"

Kōyū did not show any fear. He led Ai to Uncle Mori while keeping an eye on Ran's expression out of the corner of his eye.

"The case has been solved."

Uncle Mori glanced at Kōyū, then turned back to look at the door. "We're in the final stages now."

He looked away and began to frantically deduce things in his mind.

After reasoning for a while, he still couldn't figure out whether Ran had heard Ai's earlier narration.

Just then, the door in front of them was opened.

"Little Liuli, how are you?"

Seeing the person coming out of the door, Uncle Mori took a few steps forward and asked with concern, "Your father?"

Yu Cheng Liuli didn't seem to be in a good mood. She sighed softly and nodded, "I've already persuaded my father to turn himself in."

As soon as he finished speaking, Nan Yunxiao walked out of the door. When he saw Uncle Mori, he was slightly taken aback. After realizing what was happening, he walked up to Uncle Mori, bowed slightly, and said apologetically, "I'm sorry, Mr. Mori, I wasn't very nice to you before."

Uncle Mori waved his hand and said, "It's alright, I understand."
