Chapter 444 Making Ginger Soup for You

What are you doing here?

Ai pushed open the door, a barely perceptible smile playing on her lips. "Since you're here, come in. I'll get you a glass of water."

As Kōyū walked in, he immediately saw Conan lying on the sofa, looking bored. He couldn't help but ask, "Conan, have you been here all day?"

"Yeah, it was a boring day."

Conan lay on the sofa with his legs crossed, "Another day without a case."

Guangyou walked over and sat down, teasingly asking, "So you're hoping someone dies?"

"What kind of talk is that?"

Conan rolled his eyes at Kōyū and explained, "I'm just bored. There haven't been any ball games or anything like that lately."

"So, you're hoping for a murder case or something to kill time?"

Guangyou twitched the corners of his mouth, leaned back on the sofa, and stretched.

"I'm not going to argue with you."

Conan knew he would be at a disadvantage no matter what, so he shut his mouth and continued to let his feet swing in the air.

"Your water."

After handing the water glass to Kōyū, Ai sat down next to him and asked, "How did your recording session go today?"

"fine."

Guangyou picked up his water glass, took a sip to moisten his throat, and said, "It took a little getting used to at first, but I got used to it later."

"Um."

Ai nodded, about to say something, when she suddenly felt an itch in her nose and couldn't help but sneeze, "Achoo..."

Guangyou raised an eyebrow, put down his water glass, turned his head, and said with concern, "You seem to have caught a cold. Did you get chilled last night?"

"I'll go make you a bowl of ginger soup to ward off the cold."

Before Ai could speak, Kōyū got up and walked towards the kitchen.

Ai gently sniffed, turned her head and lay on the sofa watching Kyouya busy in the kitchen, pursing her lips.

...

Kōyū scooped up a spoonful of ginger soup, blew on it gently, and then brought the spoon to Ai's lips, saying, "Open your mouth."

"Hmm..."

As soon as the ginger soup touched her lips, Ai frowned and said softly, "It tastes awful."

"You have to drink it even if it tastes bad."

Kōyū scooped up another spoonful and brought it to Ai's mouth, saying, "This is very helpful for mild colds."

"It didn't say I wouldn't drink."

After saying that, Ai opened her mouth and swallowed the ginger soup. Her eyebrows, which had just relaxed a little, furrowed again. "It still tastes awful."

It took five or six minutes for Xiao Ai to finish the small bowl of ginger soup.

The freshly boiled ginger soup was still warm, and Xiao Ai felt her whole body warm up a bit.

Are you feeling any better?

Kōyū put the bowl aside, looked at Ai, and said with concern, "Go to bed early tonight and get some rest."

Although Ai nodded, she still stubbornly said, "I'm not a child."

Guangyou chuckled and reached out to ruffle the brown hair: "Pretty much the same, no difference."

"snort..."

Ai gave a soft hum, but did not refute it.

"Guangyou, it's time to go. Xiaolan called and is urging us to go back for dinner."

Conan waved his phone at Kouyu while getting up from the sofa, stretching and loosening his muscles that hadn't been used much all afternoon.

"Remember to get some rest early tonight, don't stay up too late."

Kōyū let go of her hand and said to Ai, "Remember to send me a message before you go to sleep."

"Okay, I know. You're so long-winded."

Ai also got up from the sofa and said to Kousuke, "I'm going to help the professor prepare dinner. Be careful on your way."

"Then I'm leaving."

Guangyou walked to the door, opened it, and called out into the room again, "Remember to go to sleep early!"

Ai's voice drifted over from afar: "I know, you're so long-winded."

...

"You've come back just in time. Let's eat and watch the show together."

When Uncle Mori saw Kouyu and Conan, his eyes lit up, and he quickly urged them to wash their hands and get ready for dinner.

After washing his hands and arriving at the dining table, Uncle Mori had already switched the TV to the mystery show channel. Holding a beer, he said excitedly, "I can already foresee the soaring ratings for this episode."

"Dad, are you playing the butler today?"

Xiaolan untied her apron and sat down in the chair. After hearing what Uncle Mori said, she became a little curious, but when she thought of yesterday's script, she lost interest. "It won't be the same as yesterday's script, will it?"

Uncle Mori explained, "The script is different, but it's indeed similar to yesterday's."

Once Uncle Mori gets going, he can't stop bragging: "Anyway, you can just watch my amazing performance, Kogoro Mori."

No one touched their chopsticks. As Uncle Mori had said, they had to wait for the show to start before they began, so they could eat while watching the show.

With five minutes to go before the show started, Kwang-woo's mouth was already watering from the aroma of the food in the air, but Uncle Mori's gaze kept darting back and forth between the three of them, preventing Kwang-woo from finding a chance to sneak a bite.

"Ta-da~"

After a melody played, the program finally began.

"Let's eat." Uncle Mori opened a beer, took a sip, and said confidently, "This time I'll show you all my acting skills, Kogoro Mori!"

The opening scene with Uncle Mori also came in handy.

As soon as the opening act ended, Uncle Mori couldn't wait to say to the group, "Look, isn't he handsome!"

"It's pretty good." Conan took a bite of rice and muttered to himself, "It's just that the blinking at the end was a bit unnecessary."
