After taking a shower, Guangyou returned to his room.
He sat at his desk and said to Conan, who was lying on the bed, "I've boiled the water for you."
"Oh, thanks."
Conan got up, sat cross-legged on the bed, and asked curiously, "What exactly is in that book?"
"Are you sure you want to know some private things about me?"
Kōyū turned around, a strange smile spreading across his face. "It has something to do with my Ai-chan."
"Never mind then."
Upon hearing this, Conan lost interest, got out of bed, and complained, "It's probably some kind of love diary or something, really."
"Good to know."
Kōyū didn't deny it, he just smiled and nodded, watching Conan leave the room.
The moment the door closed, his smile vanished. He opened the drawer, took out his notebook again, and muttered to himself, "It's time to fill in some more content."
He flipped through the notebook and turned to a blank page. Although it was blank, there were already patterns on this page, but unlike the other pages, it wasn't filled in.
Guangyou picked up a pencil and started drawing in his notebook.
Occasionally I erase mistakes with an eraser, and sometimes I fall into deep thought.
This continued until Conan finished his shower, pushed open the door, and came in. Only then did Kōyū breathe a sigh of relief and close his notebook.
Just as he finished doing all that, Conan pushed open the door and walked in.
Conan sat on the bed, yawned, turned his head to look at Kōyū, and asked, "Are you still writing that love diary?"
Guangyou put the notebook back in the drawer and replied, "No, I've already finished writing it."
Back in bed, leaning against the headboard, Guangyou couldn't help but yawn, smack his lips, and take out his phone to check. He found that he had an unread text message.
"She's asleep."
Guangyou looked at the text message, smiled, and then put his phone away.
"Haibara's?"
As soon as the words left his mouth, Conan realized he had made a fool of himself. "No need to answer. Just pretend I asked for nothing."
Guangyou yawned again and said, "Good to know. Now turn off the lights and go to sleep."
...
The next day, near noon...
Uncle Mori sat on the sofa and called out to the three people in the office, "Ran and those two brats, come and watch TV."
Guangyou slowly walked to the sofa and asked, "Uncle, what's the matter?"
Uncle Mori crossed his arms and teased about what was about to happen: "You three will find out when you watch TV."
On the television screen, a familiar figure was being interviewed by reporters.
"Dad, you're on the news!"
Xiaolan pointed at Uncle Mori on the TV, somewhat surprised, "Was that an interview yesterday?"
"Um."
Uncle Mori remained outwardly calm, but his tone revealed his embarrassment: "They approached me while I was filming yesterday, and it was really hard to refuse, since I'm a public figure and I have to give them some face."
Guangyou sat to the side watching the news, silently thinking to himself, "What an arrogant old man."
...
"Actually, I just advised him to turn himself in as soon as possible after I figured out the murder method."
On TV, Uncle Mori looked serious, nodded slightly to the reporter, and said, "That's all, I'll take my leave now."
After saying that, he left the crowd without looking back. No matter how the media tried to persuade him to stay, Uncle Mori did not stop for a second. He just waved to them with his back turned, appearing calm and composed.
...
"Farewell, oh..."
Uncle Mori grinned, raised an eyebrow, lowered his head slightly, and said in a pretentious manner, "A real man doesn't need to speak; his back view says it all."
But the next second, Uncle Mori broke down and started laughing out loud, sticking out his tongue: "I'm so cool!"
Conan glanced at Uncle Mori, who was indulging in his narcissism, and said sarcastically, "It was just a coincidence that you solved a murder case. What's there to be proud of? Really."
He spoke very softly, but Kōyū heard him clearly. He looked at Conan and teased, "Can I take that as you being unconvinced?"
"Think what you want..."
Conan glanced at Mitsuyu but didn't offer any further explanation.
Just then, the firm's phone rang.
"Ring ring~"
Xiaolan quickly answered the phone and asked, "This is the Mouri Detective Agency. How can we help you?"
"game?"
Xiaolan frowned slightly, picked up the pen next to the phone, and jotted down the caller's general request. "A system engineer for a game software has suddenly disappeared... You're looking for this person, right?"
Uncle Mori's hand suddenly paused, and he softly called to Ran, "Ran, if you need me, just say I'm not here. I'm busy recording Yoko's new drama tonight."
Xiaolan took a breath, smiled, and said to the person on the other end of the phone, "No problem, we can certainly handle it immediately. My father is also very free today."
Xiaolan deliberately emphasized the words "very empty".
"Hello, it's me..."
Before Uncle Mori could finish speaking, Ran had already hung up the phone.
Ran glared at Shinichi with her signature crescent-shaped eyes and turned to look at Uncle Mori. She said in a commanding tone, "Hurry up and shave your beard, tie your tie, and get ready to go out and handle business."
"oh..."
Before the two could even make eye contact for a second, Uncle Mori gave up first, weakly responded, and turned to walk towards the bathroom.
