Chapter 454 The Naive Conan

"This is Yamamura Misao of the Gunma Prefectural Police Station. Professor Agasa's car is stuck on the mountain road. He said that the car factory will come up the mountain to pick up the car after dawn."

"But we're worried that if we leave this car in the mountains, it might be used as a tool by fleeing criminals."

"So we first found a roadside assistance vehicle to tow it down the mountain."

"Please tell Professor Agasa that he should go to the Gunma Prefectural Police Station to pick up the car as soon as he has time."

After listening to Yamamura Misao's explanation, Guangyou replied, "Okay, thank you, Officer Yamamura."

"That's settled then. I'm so sorry to have disturbed your rest."

"It doesn't matter."

Guangyou casually replied and then hung up the phone, turning around and going back to bed.

"What's wrong?"

Ai rubbed her eyes, her voice tinged with an undeniable languor as she awoke.

"I don't know what Dr. Agasa and Conan are doing. Their car is parked on the mountain. A police officer from Gunma Prefecture called and asked me to tell Dr. Agasa to go to the police station to pick up the car."

After explaining, Guangyou lay down and snuggled into the warm blankets. "Ignore that guy, just go to sleep."

"The doctor and the others haven't returned yet."

Ai shook her head and muttered helplessly, "Those two are really something."

After venting her frustrations, she lay down, pulled up the covers, closed her eyes, and went back to sleep.

...

But perhaps because he had just taken a nap, he wasn't that sleepy now, and he tossed and turned for a long time without falling asleep.

"Can't you sleep either?"

Ai's voice had lost its languid quality, as if she, like Kōyū, was not asleep.

"yes."

Guangyou got up and sat on the bed, complaining, "It's all because of that phone call."

After thinking for a while, he got out of bed, put on his coat, and said to Ai, "I'll go find them."

"Then be careful on your way."

"Okay, you should go to sleep now. Girls can't do without enough sleep."

After saying a word of concern, Guangyou picked up the backup tracking glasses that were next to the computer and walked out the door.

After hearing the door close, Ai stopped turning around. Without the comforting snoring, she felt a little unaccustomed.

Thinking of the scene when Guangyou gently kissed her forehead just now, a faint smile appeared on her lips.

She closed her eyes and calmed her mind; she eventually fell asleep, and that faint smile accompanied her into her dreams.

...

There are no tall buildings near Professor Agasa's house, and the streetlights are already off.

Guangyou wasn't worried about anything, and just walked alone on the road.

When we finally got out of this area, we were able to see some people on the road.

The snowflakes continued to fall erratically outside, and a cold wind would occasionally blow by, so there were naturally fewer pedestrians outside.

Another gust of cold wind blew by, and the few remaining pedestrians on the street quickened their pace slightly.

Guangyou pulled his clothes tighter to keep himself warm, then reached into his pocket, took out a backup pair of tracking glasses, and pressed the switch on them.

An antenna protrudes from the side of the glasses, and a flashing red dot and a simple location map are displayed on the left lens.

The temperature was quite low at night, but that did clear Guangyou's muddled mind a bit, so it was a mixed blessing.

As he walked toward the red dot, he recalled his destination in his mind.

"I think it was in the basement near Hyeongyo Station."

Guangyou wasn't sure either; he only remembered that this seemed to be somewhat related to Sister Bei.

Although there was no evidence, that was his first impression.

Fortunately, there are still some 24-hour convenience stores in this area, and the lights inside dispel some of the eerie atmosphere.

In another hour or two, the sun would be up and about, so Guangyou quickened his pace slightly.

At 5 a.m., Guangyou arrived at the location indicated by the red dot on his glasses: Hyungyo Station.

The station was under renovation at the time, it was still early, and there weren't many people around.

After glancing around, Guangyou bypassed the roadblocks, entered the station, and headed straight for the station's basement.

After wandering in the cold wind for a long time, Guangyou's memories became a little clearer. Following the location in his memory, he arrived in front of a row of cabinet doors.

He knocked on the bottom cabinet door, and without waiting for a response, he yanked it open.

Inside the cramped cabinet, a boy was huddled at the very back, his face flushed and his forehead covered in sweat.

Kōyū reached out and nudged Conan, while calling out to the closet, "Get up!"

Conan struggled to open his eyes. After being in the dark closet for so long, his eyes had a hard time adjusting to the light.

"Guangyou?"

Conan's tone was full of doubt, "Why are you here?"

Kōyū shook his head helplessly, reached out and pulled Conan out of the cabinet, saying, "Isn't it all because of you?"

"Because you and the doctor left the car on the mountain, and then that guy from the mountain village in Gunma Prefecture called the doctor, which woke me up. It was almost dawn, and you still hadn't come back, so I came out to look for you."

There was a hint of resentment in Kōyū's voice, "I was finally able to watch my Ai-chan fall asleep, but then..."

Conan took two deep breaths and said in a very irritating way, "Then you can keep sleeping."

Guangyou stepped forward and gave him a sharp rap on the head, saying angrily, "I was just worried something might happen to you, and you're so ungrateful."
