"You mean, these dolls are for me?"
Ai pointed to herself, then looked back at the neatly arranged dolls over there; she still couldn't quite believe it.
"yes."
Guangyou nodded, raised an eyebrow at her, and said with a smile, "Shall we go take a look?"
The two walked to the Girls' Day dolls that were arranged on the shelf. Ai looked up and carefully looked down from the top shelf.
After looking at them, she muttered to herself, "Not a single one was misplaced."
At this moment, she noticed that the platform was brand new, but the dolls looked somewhat old, which puzzled her.
She turned to look at Guangyou and asked, "These dolls look quite old. Did you buy these old toys yesterday?"
Guangyou shook his head, walked to the platform, bent down slightly to look at the antique dolls, and said, "These can't be bought. You can't buy these dolls no matter how much money you have."
Ai bent down to examine the dolls as well. Hearing Kousuke's answer, she became even more puzzled and asked, "Then what are these dolls?"
"These were all prepared by your parents."
Guangyou turned his head to look at her and explained, "These are what your parents prepared back then. Later, something happened, and your sister hid these dolls."
Upon hearing this, Ai's pupils contracted slightly, her eyebrows furrowed, and she opened her mouth to ask softly, "This is... prepared by Mom and Dad?"
"yes."
A hint of smugness flashed in Guangyou's eyes, and he said in a very calm tone, "I found it after searching for a while. It was pretty easy."
"Simple?"
Ai straightened up, glanced at the mud spots on his pants, and said, "If it were simple, how did you get like this?"
Guangyou glanced down and smiled helplessly, "Didn't your sister bury these things under the tree? I forgot my tools, so..."
Ai walked over to Kousuke, took his hand and placed it in front of her, looking at the dirt between his fingernails, and said, "So you dug it with your hands?"
Guangyou nodded with a wry smile: "There's nothing I can do. That tree is in someone else's park. If I were carrying a shovel or something, I wouldn't be able to get in."
"Of course, I won't tell you that I forgot."
Kwang-woo even made a joke to lighten the mood.
However, the joke didn't seem to have the desired effect. Ai didn't laugh; instead, she looked at Kōyū's relaxed demeanor, her mind racing.
If it were really that simple, would you have spent the whole night looking for it? Do you think those faint dark circles under your eyes are from makeup?
If it's really that simple, how did you get those marks on your face?
If it were really that simple, would you not even have time to shower and change clothes?
She didn't say these things aloud.
She knew that some things were better left unsaid; it was better to keep them to yourself.
Since Guangyou said it was simple, then she would just accept that it really was simple.
"You're so silly."
The words that suddenly came out of Ai's mouth left him somewhat confused.
Ai didn't explain, but continued, "You're really stupid. You could have just bought a new one. You didn't need to look for these at all."
You're wrong.
Guangyou shook his head, straightened up and looked at the dolls in front of him, and said, "These are not just dolls, they are also things left to you by your parents when they were alive."
"In a way, this is also a blessing from your parents to you two sisters, and it also carries your parents' memories of you two sisters."
Girls' Day dolls are gifts from elders to younger female relatives, and their meaning is to wish the recipient good health and happiness in the future.
Admittedly, Akemi, as Ai's older sister, could also do this, but compared to what Ai's parents prepared, it lacks in significance.
Unfortunately, Ai's parents couldn't prepare it for her themselves, but there was really nothing they could do about it.
Xiao Ai remained silent, turning her head to look at the doll, her eyes revealing a complex mix of emotions.
She was well aware of all this, but she didn't want to see Guangyou get himself into trouble for such a vague blessing.
She certainly wanted her parents' blessing, but she didn't want it to come from the fact that Guangyou had made her into the person she is today.
To be fair, as a girl, she was naturally touched to see a boy going to such lengths for her, even neglecting to sleep.
Aside from those bus sex incidents, it would be a lie to say that most normal, emotional girls would feel nothing at all if they encountered something like this.
Seeing Ai looking thoughtful, Kōyū hesitated for a moment, then asked with some concern, "Ai, do you not like these things?"
"Um?"
Ai snapped out of her thoughts. After hearing Kousuke's concerns, she paused for a second, then slowly shook her head and said, "No, I like them very much. These dolls are really beautiful."
"Unfortunately, these dolls are far removed from my aesthetic taste."
Guangyou smiled wryly to himself, but on the surface he nodded in agreement, "It is quite beautiful."
"I really like it."
Ai was facing the dolls, but she glanced at Kyou out of the corner of her eye and murmured to herself, "Whether it's these dolls or you...the things you've done for me."
Kōyū only heard the first half of the sentence. Seeing that Ai liked it, he also felt that what he had done in the past day or two was really worthwhile.
