"Girl."
In front of a gloomy building, Kōyū stood with his hands behind his back. After saying this, he turned his head to look at Ai standing next to him and asked solemnly, "Are you really sure about this?"
Ai turned her head and gave him a disdainful look, her words clearly mocking: "Don't you dare?"
Guangyou snorted, dismissing the idea with disdain, and said, "How could I not dare? It's not a real ghost."
"That would be best."
Ai nodded, took a step forward, and joined the last position in the line.
Guangyou naturally couldn't fall behind, so he shrugged indifferently and joined the queue as well.
While waiting in line, Guangyou was able to take a good look at this so-called haunted house.
The haunted house didn't look like this when I last visited, so it seems the park has made some major changes.
The haunted house did not use the purple and black colors typical of other haunted houses; instead, it simply used dark-colored bricks to form the outer walls.
The walls were covered with lush green vines, and the plants, which had no trellises for them to climb, looked messy and disorderly on the exterior wall.
The windows on the building shone with orange light, but because it was daytime, the atmosphere wasn't quite right.
The building features towers, making it resemble a castle where witches live in Western stories.
"A castle, huh?"
Guangyou glanced at the medieval-style castle, then at the promotional posters pasted on the entrance, and muttered, "A themed haunted house, huh? Interesting."
What are you muttering about?
Ai turned her head, looked at Kōyū, and said with a deliberately mocking tone, "Scared?"
"There's no way I'm afraid, it's just..."
Guangyou waved his hand dismissively, but the next second, he pinched his chin and pondered, "I just hope the girls working there are pretty, otherwise this trip will be too boring."
"I didn't hear you clearly, could you say it again?"
Ai's gaze fell on Kyou, her words laced with a hint of threat, "What do you hope is working inside?"
"It just came out unconsciously."
Guangyou had a bad feeling about this. He scratched his head and explained, "I mean, the staff inside will probably be very disappointed. After all, I'm not someone they can scare, hehe."
"snort.."
Ai didn't delve any further, just snorted and turned back to continue queuing.
It was estimated that the two people would be able to get a turn in about half an hour. By then, they could already see the entrance to the haunted house and the staff controlling the flow of people.
The two staff members also dressed up to match the haunted house theme; one male was dressed as a werewolf, and the other female was dressed as a very classic witch.
"It seems quite interesting."
Guangyou glanced at the makeup on the two of them. Although they were just staff members at the entrance, their makeup was still quite good, and the witch lady seemed to be pretty good-looking.
After what had just happened, Guangyou didn't reveal his true feelings. He glanced at her and then looked away. The girl was indeed pretty, but her looks weren't as striking as Ai's, who was of mixed race.
"We hope you have fun. If you need anything, please call out to the staff."
A little earlier than expected, twenty-five minutes later, Kōyū and Ai finally entered the small castle.
This haunted house is different from other haunted houses. It adopts a semi-open tour, which means it gives you a general area, and you can walk around freely and complete the objectives it gives you.
For most of the other haunted houses, the route is already planned for you; you just need to keep moving forward.
The dimly lit environment, coupled with the occasional scream, lets you experience all the silly props along the route, and then it's over.
In Guangyou's mind, there was really no need to go to such a place. It might not be scary, but it would definitely be boring.
Because of the unique nature of this haunted house, Guangyou had even more expectations for this trip.
"Ai, did you bring any snacks?"
Guangyou was intrigued and wanted to bite into something, but he was in a hurry to leave and forgot to buy anything while waiting, so he could only ask the person next to him if they had brought anything.
"I brought a few lollipops."
Ai took two lollipops out of her jeans pocket, waved them in front of Kouyu, and asked, "Strawberry or blueberry, which do you want?"
Between the two, Kwangyu made his choice without hesitation: "Strawberry".
Ai reached out her other hand and took the strawberry lollipop, then put the blueberry one into Kouyu's hand, saying, "Your blueberry."
"???"
Guangyou looked down at the blueberry lollipop in his hand and suddenly began to question his existence.
Did I say something wrong just now?
You misunderstood.
Ai stood there, calmly tearing open the wrapper around the strawberry lollipop, then put the lollipop in her mouth before explaining, "I'm letting you choose which one I want."
"All right."
Guangyou didn't refuse to eat it just because it was blueberry; after all, it's good enough to have some now, so why be picky?
He reached out and tore open the wrapper, revealing the blue lollipop inside. He put it in his mouth, took a big suck, and then nodded in satisfaction: "Delicious."
The interior decoration of the castle shows that the park management has put a lot of thought into it. Although the bright red carpet underfoot is not a high-end item, it is enough to add to the atmosphere.
