Hearing the girl's response, Guangyou smiled and said softly, "Then eat more."
Ai took the cola, took a small sip, and said, "Eating too much will make you fat."
"Being chubby isn't so bad."
Guangyou tossed the chicken nugget in his hand into his mouth, chewed it, and mumbled, "If you get fat, no one will have any designs on you, and then you'll belong to me alone."
"snort..."
Ai curled her lips into a smile, reached out and pinched the heart-shaped straw, stirring the dark brown cola in her glass. The ice cubes at the bottom of the glass collided with each other, creating ripples, just like her heart, which was pounding like a deer's, and she couldn't calm down for a long time.
Such explicit words were unexpected for her, and the effect was surprisingly good. If it weren't for a recent change in her attitude towards boys, she would probably be blushing and wouldn't dare to lift her head.
"Eat your food, silly girl."
Mitsuyu looked at Ai with amusement and couldn't help but tease her, "People come to a fast food restaurant to eat, and you come to a fast food restaurant to stir up cola."
Ai looked up and retorted rudely, "You're the stupid one."
Kōyū laughed instead, picked up a chicken nugget, dipped it in the accompanying sauce, and held it to Ai's lips, saying as if coaxing a child, "If you finish eating it, then I'll admit I'm stupid."
Do you really think I'm a child?
Despite her words, Ai still obediently opened her mouth and ate the chicken nugget.
After taking a sip of cola and swallowing the chicken nugget, Xiao Ai raised her chin and gestured to Guangyou.
"Okay, okay, I'm the silliest one."
Kōyū maintained the same doting smile as before, reached out and picked up a fries, dipped them in ketchup, and brought them to Ai's lips again, saying softly, "Open your mouth."
"Ah... um..."
Ai's eyes were full of smiles; she had never been a fan of fried foods that were high in calories and lacked nutrition.
However, she thought the fried food today was pretty good, and she enjoyed eating it.
At this moment, her heart was filled with an indescribable feeling; she felt very fulfilled.
Their seats were by the window, and they could see passersby on the street just by turning their heads, but at this moment, they seemed to only have eyes for each other.
The warm sunlight streamed through the clean glass window, illuminating her delicate face and making the smile on her lips seem even brighter.
Passersby outside, looking through the window, couldn't hear what the two were saying; they could only see the smiles on their faces as they interacted.
...
"It's so good to be young."
An ordinary-looking man happened to see Kwang-yu feeding Ai-chan chicken nuggets as he passed by McDonald's.
The man was of average appearance, with a somewhat gloomy expression and disheveled clothes that looked like they hadn't been washed in a while.
He genuinely envied the two of them. Once upon a time, he also had a girl like that by his side, but he didn't know how to cherish her back then.
He naturally liked that girl, but he didn't know how to express it. It wasn't until she transferred schools in his second year of high school due to family reasons that he realized that she occupied a significant place in his heart.
The man recalled his youthful days, those days seeming as beautiful as they are now, just like those cliché TV dramas: as the sun sets, a girl pushes a cart, telling stories of the day, while a boy walks ahead with a schoolbag on his back and a blade of grass in his mouth.
There was no money or other messy stuff mixed in with their relationship; everything was so pure and so enchanting.
He came to the place where they first had a date to fulfill his last wish.
The man gave Ai and Kousuke, who were chatting and laughing in the fast food restaurant, a smile appearing on his gloomy face: "I hope you don't repeat my mistakes."
After saying that, the man turned to leave, but he stopped after taking just one step.
The man took an envelope out of his pocket. It was a letter she had sent him not long ago. He hadn't opened it, afraid that the message inside would be too much for him to accept, but he kept the letter with him at all times.
Originally, he didn't want to tear it down, just wanting to keep it as a memento. But after seeing Guangyou and Xiao Ai, a surge of courage suddenly welled up inside him. He wanted to try to face it, even if the outcome might leave him battered and bruised. But that's what he wanted to do.
"Well, we still have to face it no matter what, otherwise it would be too regrettable to leave like this."
The man hesitated for a moment, then reached out and tore open the envelope, took out the letter inside, and began to read its contents.
It's unclear what he saw, but the gloomy aura around him instantly dissipated, his steps became lighter, and as he walked away, he slowly straightened his back, which had been hunched since his depression began.
No one knew the contents of the letter except the man himself. He carefully folded the letter back into the envelope, following the original markings, and placed the brown paper envelope close to his chest.
...
Guangyou was unaware of the man's affairs; he was currently engrossed in his enjoyable meal.
While the fries and chicken nuggets were nice, they were still just snacks; the main course was the burger in the set meal.
Guangyou reached out and opened the hamburger box, revealing two hamburgers wrapped in pink hamburger paper. The box design was also quite interesting.
The two hamburgers form the semicircles on either side of the heart; only by putting the two hamburgers in will a heart shape appear in the box.
"The design is quite good."
Kōyū took one out and handed it to Ai, then picked up the remaining one for himself. He skillfully tore open the hamburger paper, glanced at the flavor of the hamburger as usual, and then smiled and said, "Tomato Chicken Burger, tomato again, but it's not bad."
