The "rafting" trip then entered what the park called the most exciting part, described outside as "allowing you to personally experience the charm of the tropical rainforest..."
Actually, it's just some typical tropical plants from both sides of the strait. Some plants can't survive in Japan, so the park just used other plants or sculptures to replace them.
The boat was far from the plants, and if Guangyou hadn't been calming himself down and distracting himself, he probably wouldn't have noticed it.
Besides plants, there are also animals, such as elephants. Right in front of Guangyou, a mother elephant is playing in the water with her child. The heartwarming scene was described vividly by the female guide.
The ship Guangyou doesn't have a female commentator, but the one next to it does.
The young lady's voice made him glance over there, and what he saw revealed another piece of gossip that wasn't exactly gossip.
"Look everyone, Miss Elephant is also welcoming you."
A female narrator dressed in adventure gear was telling a story into a microphone. Next to her, there were two familiar figures.
"Kaito is going on a date with Aoko today."
Kōyū glanced over at them again. At that moment, Kaito was leaning back in his chair, half-closing his eyes, looking utterly dejected.
Beside him, a girl who looked remarkably like Ran was pointing excitedly at the elephants with her eyes wide open, saying to Kaito beside her, "Look, look, those elephants are so cute!"
They weren't far apart, but Guangyou could only hear a little bit. However, he could still roughly guess the content of their conversation by reading their lip movements.
After Aoko finished speaking, Kaito sat up slightly, didn't even look at the elephant, and said, "That's made by a machine."
Aoko's smile froze instantly, creating an extremely awkward moment, but Kaito didn't seem to care.
Aoko felt as if she'd been doused with cold water; her high spirits were instantly extinguished by those words. Clutching the brim of her hat, she said awkwardly, "Is that so..."
Seeing all this, Kōyū smirked, inwardly speechless, thinking to himself, "I wonder if Kaito has something on his mind or if he's always like this; he's taking way too long..."
Kaito, the Phantom Thief Kid, is not lacking in emotional intelligence; otherwise, he wouldn't have come up with all sorts of outrageous ways to flirt with girls, and yet he succeeds time and time again.
Even Sonoko has become his fangirl, but then again, if Sonoko knew that her idol looks almost exactly like Shinichi...
That scene must be beautiful.
...
"What?"
Sonoko could hardly believe her eyes when she saw Kid's true face. She rubbed her eyes and then leaned close to Kid to carefully examine every part of his face.
After looking for a while, Sonoko was sure she wasn't mistaken; Kid looked almost exactly like that arrogant detective who had been keeping her best friend hooked up for so long.
On the spot, Sonoko threw all the Kid-related merchandise she had into the trash can.
...
Why do I feel a strange sense of anticipation?
Kōyū, rubbing his chin, leaned against the ship's railing, watching the ship with interest, and sighed softly, "I remember Conan didn't know that Kid's true identity was the same as his, right?"
"I remember Kaito's dad even met Conan when he was a child."
He seemed to vaguely remember this plot, though his memory was somewhat hazy. He imagined the two of them meeting with their real faces and thought to himself, "It will definitely be even more exciting."
"Do they feel like they're long-lost brothers?"
"That's also possible."
"I really hope they'll start fighting."
Kōyū's thoughts had already strayed a bit, but to be honest, if this self-proclaimed "artist" Kaito Kid and the "critic" Shinichi Kudo were to fight...
It seems pretty good.
What are you looking at?
Ai turned around and saw that Kousuke looked lost in thought, which made her a little puzzled.
She could tell that Guangyou wanted to say something to her, but he gave up halfway through.
This made her feel that something was wrong. Thinking of Guangyou's condition during that time, she became worried and reached out to tug at him, asking, "Are you overthinking things again?"
"Huh? What is that?"
Kōyū had just snapped out of his reverie and was a little confused. After a moment, he realized what Ai was asking him.
He must have thought about what Ai said; he had thought about it when he was squatting at the door waiting for her that morning.
The event had barely stirred any emotion within him, or perhaps his excitement had suppressed this inappropriate feeling, preventing him from noticing it.
However, he hadn't actually thought about that just now; he was happily imagining Kaito and Shinichi fighting.
"No, I just saw two familiar faces on the ship opposite."
Kōyū smiled at Ai, pointed to the ship opposite, and said, "That's the guy we met before who looks a lot like Conan, and his childhood friend."
A silence fell between Kaito and Aoko. Perhaps because of what had just happened, Aoko didn't try to start a conversation with Kaito.
Ai glanced at them before looking away, then looked up at the sunset and sighed softly, "Childhood sweethearts... I miss them."
“???”
Kōyū sat up straight instantly, blinked, looked at Ai, and asked in a slightly different tone, "What? Childhood friend? Nostalgia? What do you mean?"
A sly smile flickered in Ai's eyes, her face still bearing the expression of longing for something, as she said to Kousuke, "The literal meaning."
