A promise is not just something you say.
Anyone can talk the talk, and aside from a few people whose consciences bother them, there are no real consequences.
After all, it's not some fantasy world where breaking the agreement will get you struck by lightning or anything like that.
Some people even say things as casually as farting, and feel at ease even if they break the promises they made.
Guangyou doesn't consider himself that kind of scoundrel. The promises he makes are like nails on an iron plate; he won't easily break them.
Keeping promises made to others is fundamental; it can also be seen as a spirit of contract.
Of course, when Kousuke saved Ai, he didn't think about any promises; it was just a subconscious reaction.
It wasn't because he didn't want to break his promise that he went to save them. When Kōyūichi realized that things were going badly, he had already taken action. He didn't think about the promise at all.
This is why he could confidently tell Xingxing, "I can really protect her, please don't worry."
He wouldn't dare say that if it wasn't something he wanted to do, but something he had to do because of a promise.
"Um.."
Guangyou closed his eyes and lay on the ground, recovering his strength.
After a few minutes of rest, he could feel that he had regained some strength throughout his body, and he estimated that he would be able to move normally again after a day of rest.
Guangyou sighed, "This feeling of being overdrawn is really uncomfortable."
Just like those peerless powerhouses in fantasy novels who have reached the pinnacle of the world suddenly losing their proud martial prowess, the experience of falling from heaven to the bottom is enough to completely break a person.
There are also examples in those novels of people who have experienced such things but did not break down. In the end, these people either see through the world and return to the countryside, or they become stronger!
The reality wasn't quite that exaggerated, but it did have some effect.
Guangyou felt that after he recovered, he would be able to control his body better, and he had made some progress in terms of how he exerted force and other aspects.
It's not a qualitative change, but it will definitely make the team a little stronger.
This certainly doesn't mean that Guangyou will participate in any fighting competitions when he goes back this time. His main thought is to become stronger so that he can have a better chance of protecting the people he cares about in the future.
"My current physical condition is truly indescribable."
When Guangyou thought about this, he suddenly felt a tightness in his chest. It was a good thing that his strength had increased, but now that he was in the body of an elementary school student, what would it matter if his strength increased three or four times?
Even if someone's palm strike is powerful enough, it can still knock him to the ground. Strengthening it is the same as not strengthening it at all.
"Guangyou..."
Before he arrived, his voice preceded his arrival, and the slightly hurried tone interrupted Guangyou's reverie.
Good evening, Ai.
Seeing that Ai was completely unharmed, Kōyū's last bit of frustration vanished.
Are you alright?
Ai crouched down and examined Kyou's body for any obvious injuries or anything like that, saying, "The medical staff are right behind us, they'll be there soon."
When Ai, who was climbing the rope ladder, saw Kousuke fall, she was already somewhat desperate, but the white figure that suddenly appeared in the night sky rekindled her hope.
Upon seeing that someone had rescued Guangyou, she immediately climbed the rope ladder at lightning speed and urged the pilot to quickly land the helicopter on the ground.
As soon as she landed, Ai jumped off the helicopter, ignoring the medical staff around her who were checking her injuries, and went straight to the direction where the white figure flew without saying a word.
On the way, Ai ran into Takagi, who was with Hiura Takaaki, and learned Kōyū's location from him.
After that, Ai was on tenterhooks because she learned from Takagi that Kousuke was lying motionless on the ground.
Although Takagi said that Mitsuyu didn't have anything particularly serious besides this, she was still very worried.
Now that she has finally met Kyou, Ai is a little more at ease.
"How could nothing be wrong?"
Guangyou turned his head to look into her concerned eyes and said, "I'm in big trouble."
Ai panicked immediately and asked, "What's wrong? Is it serious?"
On the surface, Ai didn't find any particularly serious injuries, at most just some scratches.
But Guangyou's words made her suspect that Guangyou might have suffered internal injuries, and that they might be quite serious.
"It was serious, but it's better now."
Ai still looked very worried about him, saying, "You should still get him checked out. You'll regret it if something happens."
"No, I just missed you a little."
Looking at her worried expression, Guangyou felt a warmth rise in his heart and smiled, "Does severe lovesickness count?"
Ai understood immediately. She released her grip on Kousuke's hand, turned her head to the side, and said in a slightly disdainful tone, "No, you still have the mind to say these things at a time like this, really."
"Isn't this the time to say it?"
Guangyou was somewhat suspicious that the television program was lying to him, as similar scenes had occurred before in those dramas.
Upon hearing such words, the female leads would burst into laughter through their tears, then playfully punch the male lead's chest with their little fists and say something like "You're so naughty."
Then the male lead covered the spot where the little fist had punched him, pretending to have been hit and then teased the female lead again.
Just imagining that scene is so heartwarming!
Why did it turn out this way when it happened to me?
Guangyou was completely baffled. Even without the little punches, saying "You're so mean" would have been nice.
