Most girls like a sense of ritual. No matter how much the relationship between the two is like that of a couple, they still hope to hear that one sentence from the other person.
Perhaps because most girls lack a sense of security, this sentence is especially important to them.
Before confessing her feelings, the girl always felt uneasy, occasionally wondering, "Why hasn't he said those words to me yet? Does he not have those feelings for me?"
As night fell, Ai, sitting in front of her computer, would occasionally rest her chin on her hand, staring blankly at the screen that emitted a faint glow, wondering why Kyou hadn't said those words to her yet.
She believed that her relationship with Kwang-woo was no different from those that had been made public, but Kwang-woo had never said a word to her about making their relationship public.
No matter what, she is a girl, and compared to other girls, she lacks a sense of security more, so naturally she hopes that Guangyou can say that sentence to her.
Now, the scene she once dreamed of has finally become a reality. Unfortunately, the two of them are now in a hospital, not in the sea of flowers she imagined.
However, she was already very satisfied to hear Guangyou say those words to her in person. She didn't dare to ask for too much, for fear that what she had finally obtained would slip away from her.
"Ai-chan."
Suddenly hearing Kōyū call her, Ai immediately snapped out of her daze and asked in confusion, "What's wrong?"
Kōyū looked at Ai expectantly and reminded her, "Did you forget what you told me?"
Ai looked up at Kousuke with her icy blue eyes, but did not answer his question immediately.
After a long while, Ai seemed to have made a decision in her heart. She took a few deep breaths as if to encourage herself.
As for what decision it was, Guangyou had no idea. He only saw a blush suddenly creep up the girl's face, and what happened next was still deeply imprinted in Guangyou's mind decades later.
After a fragrant breeze brushed against his face, Guangyou felt a few strands of soft, brown hair brush against the tip of his nose, making him feel a little itchy.
Guangyou's gaze was fixed on the girl's fair and pretty face, and then he noticed that his lips were covered by something soft, and he felt that the taste was somewhat familiar.
When Kwang-woo came to his senses, the words that slipped out were: "Apple flavor..."
Those three simple words deepened the blush on Ai's face, and her voice even carried a hint of undisguised shyness as she softly asked, "Is it alright?"
When Guangyou was feeling lost some time ago, the two of them had something similar to what happened today. It was just an accident, and the two of them tacitly avoided talking about what happened that day afterward.
It has to be said that the accident left a deep impression on Ai Haibara.
That day planted a seed in Ai's heart, and just now, when Kōyū asked her a question, that seed finally sprouted.
Kōyū raised his hand and touched the corner of his lips, looking at Ai with a half-smile, and said, "What do you think?"
Perhaps because of her bold action just now, Ai didn't know where she got the courage from, but after hearing what Mitsuyu said, she stood up from the chair at an extremely fast speed.
Judging from her posture, it seemed like she wanted to repeat what she had just done.
To Ai's surprise, Kōyū stopped her.
Did he find it unacceptable?
Like a bonfire caught in a downpour, Ai couldn't help but feel a little disappointed.
"Don't overthink it. I don't dislike you. I'm just afraid that if this happens again, I'll get cavities tonight."
Kōyū could tell that his behavior had affected Ai's emotions, so he smiled and explained, "Actually, I wanted to hear you say that one sentence to me."
That was his initial goal; he also wanted to hear Ai say those words to him in person.
It wasn't about a sense of security; he just wanted to experience the emotional fluctuations that come with hearing those words.
This is a feeling that Guangyou has never experienced before in his life.
Not only Ai wanted to hear that sentence, but Kōyū also wanted to hear it.
So at the very beginning, he asked Ai, "Did you forget what you told me?"
Unexpectedly, Ai took the initiative to kiss the corner of his lips.
This was an unexpected surprise.
"Tooth decay?"
Upon hearing this, Ai couldn't dwell on Kousuke stopping her anymore. After a brief pause, she understood the meaning behind Kousuke's words.
The disappointment I felt earlier vanished, replaced by a sense of smug satisfaction.
"We'll see."
Ai didn't give Kousuke a definite answer.
Actually, she had already made up her mind after Guangyou said he wanted to hear her say that one sentence.
She just wanted to wait for what she thought was a good opportunity.
"good."
Guangyou was somewhat disappointed, but he didn't show it. He smiled and said, "We'll talk about it when you're ready."
Ai, who was sitting on the edge of the hospital bed, swayed slightly, but quickly regained her composure.
She almost said that sentence just now.
Fortunately, she suppressed her impulse and swallowed those words.
"It's getting late, time to sleep."
The clock on the white wall of the ward ticked away.
It was already 12:00 AM.
Kōyū looked at Ai and asked, "Where are you sleeping tonight?"
"have no idea."
Ai leaned over the hospital bed, using her hands as a pillow, and glanced at Kōyū out of the corner of her eye, saying, "I'm fine here."
"That won't do."
Guangyou used his hands to support himself and moved a little to the left, patted one side of the hospital bed, and laughed, "Sleeping on your stomach is bad for your spine."
Ai had already guessed his thoughts beforehand.
