When I woke up in the morning, I saw the person I liked right next to me.
This was something Guangyou had once dreamed of, and he never expected it to actually come true this time.
Looking at the lingering weariness on Ai's face, Kōyū asked softly, "Why don't you sleep a little longer?"
"I've gotten used to waking up at this time."
Ai's eyes were blurry, and the tears at the corners of her eyes glistened in the sunlight.
After yawning, she continued to lie on Guangyou's chest, showing no intention of getting up.
She doesn't have the habit of sleeping in, but she felt that since she and Guangyou had finally taken this step, she should enjoy it a little longer.
Kōyū gently stroked Ai's brown hair, feeling the smooth strands brush against his fingertips, and he felt very satisfied at that moment.
"Tap tap tap."
The peace was shattered just a few minutes after they had begun to enjoy themselves, when a sudden knock on the door broke the tranquility.
"Damn it..."
The smile that was just on his face vanished instantly. Guangyou glared at the door and complained, "Why are you knocking so early? Don't you get any rest?"
As he said this, Kwangyu glanced at the wall clock, then said somewhat awkwardly, "It's already 8:30..."
He thought it was only six or seven o'clock.
Upon hearing the knock on the door, Ai, who was nestled against Kōyū's chest, reluctantly got up and got out of bed.
She originally wanted to lie down for a while longer, and if possible, close her eyes and take a nap, but the sudden knocking on the door disrupted her plans.
It's a bit of a pity.
"I'll go buy you breakfast."
Ai straightened her clothes, then opened the ward door and went out after another knock.
A familiar face was standing outside the door—the nurse from last night.
She walked to the bedside, looked at the energetic Guangyou, and smiled, "It seems you're recovering well. I'll take you for a check-up later, and if there are no problems, your family can take you home."
"Um."
Guangyou nodded calmly, his face expressionless.
"Guangyou, aren't you happy to be discharged from the hospital?"
The nurse was a little puzzled, as there were no children to play with or TVs to watch in the hospital.
The other children couldn't wait to go out and have fun, but why did Guangyou not seem happy about being discharged from the hospital?
Upon hearing this, Guangyou secretly rolled his eyes at her, thinking to himself, "It's all because of you."
If the nurse hadn't come, Kōyū could have enjoyed the satisfaction of holding Ai for a while longer.
It's over before I even got to enjoy it, so it's impossible to be happy.
However, he forced a smile, shook his head, and said, "How could that be? I'm very happy."
"Once I've finished your discharge procedures, I should be going home."
The nurse yawned, her muffled voice coming through her mask, "I haven't slept for a day and a night, I'm so tired."
Despite being tired, she still needs to finish her work before she can go home and rest.
"Can we do the test now, or do we have to wait a while?"
Guangyou didn't want to stay in the hospital anymore; the smell of disinfectant in the air was really unpleasant.
"I'm here to take you for a check-up, don't rush."
The nurse removed the IV needle from Guangyou's hand and placed the remaining glucose dripping from it on the bedside table.
As she worked, she asked, "Guangyou, how do you feel about your recovery?"
After hearing this, Guangyou tried clenching his fist and moving his feet.
Compared to yesterday, the movements were smoother, and I could finally feel the power within my body.
He turned to the nurse and smiled, "It's alright. If someone helps me, I think I can walk a few steps."
The extent of the recovery was as he had expected, and it did not surprise him.
Next, Guangyou was wheeled out of the ward by a nurse to undergo a series of examinations.
The test results were the same as yesterday; there was nothing seriously wrong with my health, but I just need to rest for a while to recover my energy.
During the check-up, the nurse had already completed the discharge procedures for Guangyou.
So now all Guangyou needs to do is lie quietly in the hospital room and wait for Uncle Mori to come and pick him up.
After sending Guangyou back to his ward, the nurse, out of concern, gave him a few more words of advice.
"You've overdrawn your energy. Go back and eat something nourishing, otherwise you might develop health problems later."
"Don't move around too much these next few days, just stay in bed and rest."
"Don't stay up late at night, go to bed early, it's better for the child's development."
…
The nurse looked at Guangyou seriously and said, "Did you hear that?"
Guangyou nodded without the slightest impatience and replied, "Yes, I heard you."
It's a good thing to have someone care about you. Guangyou doesn't find it annoying; he just feels warm inside.
"Alright, I'm leaving now. You get some rest."
After showing her concern, the nurse turned and left the ward.
"She really cares about you."
Sitting in the chair with her arms crossed, Ai watched the nurse's departing figure and said sarcastically.
Guangyou chuckled, wrinkled his nose and sniffed, saying, "Why does the air smell like aged vinegar?"
Who are you saying is jealous?
Ai picked up the porridge she had just bought from the bedside table and handed it to Kōyū, saying irritably, "It's getting cold, eat it quickly."
"ah…"
Guangyou didn't reach out to take the bowl of porridge, but instead opened his mouth as if to say, "You feed me."
"Why don't you let your nurse feed you?"
