Chapter 56 The Detestable Phone Call

"What? A bomb has been planted on the loop line!"

"Yes, the police station just notified us."

If you hear that there is a bomb on the loop line, whether it is true or false, you must take it very seriously. There are at least dozens or even hundreds of innocent lives on a train. This is not a game!

"I understand. I'll stop all trains immediately and conduct an inspection!"

The operations manager said sternly, "No, the train absolutely cannot stop! The prisoner said that if the train's speed is less than 60 kilometers per hour after 4 o'clock, it will explode!"

The train conductor glanced at his watch, his face breaking out in a cold sweat: "It'll be 4 o'clock in just 3 minutes!"

The operations manager slammed his fist on the table: "Get all trains moving at 60 km/h immediately! No, get all trains moving at 70 km/h!"

All the train drivers were on tenterhooks after receiving the order, fearing that their trains would explode. A train explosion was a minor matter, but a person exploding would be much more distressing.

The passengers on the train were a bit confused by the announcement that the train wouldn't stop at the station. Luckily, it was rush hour; if it were rush hour, many people would probably be cursing.

In the hospital

Uncle Mori pondered for a moment, then looked up confidently and said, "I understand, Inspector Megure. The prisoner's 'XX of X' refers to either under the seat or on the wire mesh. He must have planted the five bombs there!"

"So, it could also be under the car body?"

"That's true." Uncle Mori looked a little dejected.

Thinking of the three members of the Detective Boys who had just left, Professor Agasa said, "If I remember correctly, Ayumi and the others need to take the Loop Train to get home."

Upon hearing this, Conan quickly took out the Detective Boys' armband: "Ayumi, can you hear me? Where are you right now?"

Ayumi heard Conan's voice and exclaimed excitedly, "On the loop line!"

Recalling the train's announcement earlier, Genta asked, "Conan, what's going on? They mentioned something about suspicious items."

Mitsuhiko, standing next to him, whispered, "Is it something that starts with the word 'bomb'?"

Conan hesitated for a moment, then decided not to tell Ayumi and the others the truth: "That's not true. I just came to ask where you are now. I'm a little worried about the three of you going back alone without an adult."

However, there's always the risk of having a bad teammate. No sooner had Conan finished speaking than Inspector Megure's voice came through the armband: "So, that bomb might not necessarily be on the Loop Line train."

Conan cursed under his breath, "Oh no!" and quickly shut down the microphone on his armband.

But it was too late; the words had already reached Ayumi and the other two through the armband.

Ayumi's large eyes instantly welled up with tears: "Then aren't we all doomed?"

Conan's expression was very serious: "No way! I definitely won't let you die!"

Although Genta has some issues, he's still very loyal: "How can we leave everything to Conan alone? Let's help out! This is the time for the Junior Detective League to step in!"

Ayumi and Mitsuhiko exchanged a glance, then nodded and said, "Let's go!"

Conan, who was on the other end, heard it all clearly: "Please! Don't get excited!"

However, Conan's words had no effect, as the three members of the Detective Boys had already cut off communication.

The fact that all trains were not stopping at stations, a situation with such a significant impact, naturally attracted the attention of the media.

Trains kept passing by without stopping at stations, causing a large number of people to gather on the platforms. Some people couldn't wait and simply walked away.

Those outside want to get in, and those inside want to get out—that's the reality right now.

The police did not disclose the true situation to the media, but simply used the excuse of an emergency to gloss over the matter.

If the bomb thing gets out, a rampage is definitely in order.

Before I could even tell anyone, some hot-tempered guys were already thinking of jumping out of the window. I don't know what those guys think they are. At that speed, they'd be seriously injured if they didn't die. Luckily, the train conductor managed to stop them.

At this moment, Ran and Sonoko are enjoying afternoon tea at a restaurant.

Praise is indispensable in life. A bad word can make the atmosphere awkward, while a good word can make the atmosphere lively.

After Sonoko complimented Ran, a happy smile spread across Ran's face: "Shinichi and I are also lucky in red this month!"

Xiaolan has talked about her lucky color many times, basically telling everyone she meets. Every time she talks about it, she still feels a little shy and happy.

Sonoko grinned mischievously: "Speaking of which, Shinichi and I haven't seen each other in ages. Let's go see him together!"

Hearing this, Xiaolan was a little flustered and quickly said, "But the movie we're going to see isn't very good, why would we want to see him? He's actually quite boring!"

If I said this out loud, probably no one would believe it. Even if you don't know Shinichi Kudo, just seeing the panic and blush on Xiaolan's face, anyone with high emotional intelligence could understand the gist of it.

Sonoko obviously didn't really want to see Shinichi, and Shinichi wasn't her type: "I was just kidding. Who wants to be a third wheel? You take everything people say seriously. No wonder people like to tease you."

Xiaolan didn't know what to say, so she just complained.

Sonoko was a little surprised: "I didn't expect your dad to agree to let you go to a midnight movie."

Ran's blush hadn't faded yet: "My dad is against it, but I don't care! I bet he's discussing what to eat tonight with Conan and Mitsuyu!"
