Chapter 570 Newspaper

After leaving the agency, Conan slowly walked towards school with his backpack on.

Time is tight, but there's still time. You can run, but there's no need.

A few minutes before the bell rang, Conan walked into the classroom of Class 1-B at Teitan Elementary School.

Inside the classroom, the students huddled together chatting. Unlike in high school, the boys and girls weren't separated as much, and it was common to see girls chatting with boys.

They mostly talked about Kamen Rider or other cartoons, which Conan found quite childish.

Fortunately, he has gotten used to this situation, and he can occasionally say a word or two when asked by others. He doesn't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing.

Back in his seat, Conan put down his bag, took out the Sherlock Holmes book he hadn't finished reading, and continued flipping through it.

He hadn't even been reading for a few minutes when a sweet, childlike voice suddenly rang in his ear: "Conan, good morning!"

Conan stopped flipping through the book, looked up, and greeted the cute little girl beside him: "Good morning, Ayumi."

"What's so good about Conan?"

"That's right!"

Genta and Mitsuhiko, who were standing to the side, saw the broad smile on Ayumi's face and couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy in their words.

Conan revealed his crescent-shaped eyes, his lips twitching slightly. "Heh...kids these days are really something else."

Ayumi straightened up, looked around, and asked, "By the way, didn't Kousuke come today?"

"He was injured and is resting in bed now."

Conan glanced at his watch, and seeing that class was about to start, he closed his book and took out his textbook.

As if remembering something, he looked around and asked in confusion, "Why didn't so-and-so come today?"

Did you take leave to take care of Guangyou?

"Ring ring~"

When the school bell rang, the elementary school students who had been chatting together quickly returned to their seats.

As the school bell rang, Kobayashi Sumiko walked into the classroom with her textbooks tucked in. On her way to the podium, she glanced at the still somewhat noisy classroom and said, "Alright, quiet down. If you want to talk, wait until after class."

In an instant, only the sound of her footsteps remained in the classroom.

Sumiko Kobayashi nodded in satisfaction, opened her textbook, and prepared to begin the lesson: "Today, we will..."

At this moment, the sound of the classroom door being pushed open interrupted her train of thought.

"Rare."

Conan saw the person standing outside the door and a playful smile appeared on his face.

"Haibara-kun, please come in first. Don't be late next time."

Teachers tend to be more lenient with students who have good grades and are easy to manage.

Since class had just started and the lateness wasn't long, Kobayashi Sumiko didn't intend to pursue the matter and waved for Ai to come in from outside the door.

"Thank you, teacher."

Xiao Ai nodded and responded, then walked back to her seat, put down her bag, and took out her textbook.

Seeing Ai return to her seat, Sumiko Kobayashi continued the lesson: "Today, we'll be talking about..."

...

The morning classes have ended in the blink of an eye, and it's time for a pleasant lunch.

At least for Genta, this was the happiest thing during his school years.

At lunchtime, the members of the Junior Detective Club naturally gathered at one table.

"I didn't expect you to be late."

Conan took a bite of rice, looked at Ai sitting diagonally across from him with amusement, and teased, "I thought you didn't come because you went to take care of Mitsuyu."

"What? I can't be late?"

Ai, eating the bento she made that morning, replied without looking up, "I went there this morning, but he was sleeping."

There was one more thing she didn't say: "Guangyou wouldn't let her skip class to take care of him."

It's just elementary school knowledge; missing a day or two of learning it won't have any impact. But Guangyou just doesn't want her to take time off to take care of him.

"Conan, you said earlier that Kousuke was injured. Is it serious?"

Sitting next to Conan, Ayumi remembered what he had said before class and quickly asked him a question with concern.

Conan turned to look at Ayumi and replied, "He's fine, he just needs to rest for a few days."

"That's good. By the way, let's go visit Guangyou together this afternoon!"

Ayumi looked at Mitsuhiko and Genta, seemingly seeking their opinions.

Genta swallowed the food in his mouth, patted his chest, and said, "As the leader of the Junior Detective Club, I definitely have to go and visit my subordinates."

"In that case, I'll go too."

Seeing that his two good friends had gone, Mitsuhiko naturally agreed.

Seeing that everyone had agreed, Ayumi smiled faintly and said, "Then it's settled. We'll go visit Mitsuyu together after school this afternoon."

Now that the decision had been made, the topic was settled. The three of them ate and chatted, just like any other students, discussing the Kamen Rider storyline from the previous night.

After lunch, it was nap time, and the three little ones still chatted together.

Mitsuhiko asked Ayumi and Yuta, "By the way, do you know about the Ferris wheel explosion that happened a couple of days ago?"

"I know, it's been all over the news on TV and in the newspapers these past few days, it's really scary!"

Ayumi's expression changed slightly as she said, "My parents were going to take me to the amusement park that day, but my dad suddenly had something to do, so we didn't go."

Mitsuhiko held up two fingers, making the number two, and said, "This incident almost killed people. Two children, about our age, were trapped on the Ferris wheel, and one of them even fell off. Fortunately, Kaito Kid intervened and saved the child."

As he spoke, he took a newspaper out of his bag and pointed to a picture on the page.
