"Delicious!"
Guangyou swallowed a mouthful of warm soup and let out a contented sigh.
After a full day of rest, the soreness in my muscles has decreased significantly, and the pain is bearable as long as I don't lift heavy objects.
"I'll do it, you rest for a while."
Just as he reached out to take the bowl from Ai's hand, Ai pulled her hand back and said, "All you need to do now is open your mouth and drink the soup."
Guangyou withdrew his hand, which was halfway outstretched, and nodded with a smile: "Okay, I'll listen to you for the next few days."
"Try these ribs."
Ai scooped up the few spare ribs from the small bowl. The soup was at the perfect temperature; it would get cold if she blew on it any longer. So she put the spoon directly to Kouyu's lips and said, "I didn't add any salt. I don't know if it will be too bland."
"Everything you make is delicious, and not adding salt is better for your health."
The ribs have been simmered for a long time and are now very tender. The flavor of the soup has completely permeated every corner of the meat, and the hidden juices burst out with a gentle bite.
In his spare time, Guangyou used to watch food shows where the hosts would often describe food as melting in your mouth. Now, he was about to say the same thing.
These ribs melt in your mouth...
Okay, it's not that exaggerated, but it's not far off. It would be fine even for elderly people who have lost all their teeth. They don't need to chew it much to ensure nutrient absorption while swallowing it.
The winter melon in the soup was so tender it melted in your mouth; if it weren't for its unique sweetness, Guangyou wouldn't even have noticed its presence.
Overall, it was very light. Just as Ai said, she didn't add salt to this soup. There was only a hint of meat flavor and the natural sweetness of the ingredients.
For Guangyou, who prefers salty food, this soup was indeed too bland.
However, given his current condition, eating something light will help him recover.
Adding no salt will allow the pork rib soup to better provide its health benefits and calcium-rich properties.
"How about it?"
Ai knows that Kousuke prefers salty food, so she's a little unsure.
"It's delicious, soft, tender, and flavorful."
After swallowing the food in his mouth, Kwang-yu gave this evaluation.
Ai calmed down a lot and continued to feed Guangyou soup, saying, "I thought you wouldn't be able to accept it."
Kōyū drank the soup, looked at Ai seriously, and said, "I can accept anything you make."
"Then I'll make you some ghost peppers later, if you can't finish them..."
Ai squinted and chuckled mischievously, "Then you were lying to me."
"Hey, that's not very nice of you. Are ghost peppers even edible?"
Kwang-woo can handle a little spice, but ghost peppers…
Forget it, he still wants to live.
"Hehe, I'm just teasing you. I'll go get you some more."
Xiao Ai chuckled softly, then picked up the empty bowl and leisurely left the room.
Looking at his retreating figure, and savoring the lingering sweetness in his mouth, Guangyou felt incredibly satisfied.
This kind of satisfaction isn't about whether it's pleasurable or not.
It really is that kind of...
That kind of rare...satisfaction.
After a while, Ai came back with the soup.
The soup was still steaming, clearly Ai was simmering it slowly over a low flame.
"By the way, the compensation terms over there have been agreed upon."
While drinking the soup, Guangyou and Xiao Ai got down to business.
Ai glanced at Kōyū and asked, "Did they agree to apologize?"
Guangyou smiled and nodded, saying, "Not only did he agree, but he also gave a large sum of compensation."
Ai simply responded with an "Mmm".
And then that was it.
Swallowing the soup in his mouth, Guangyou asked curiously, "Don't you want to know how much they gave you?"
Ai Haibara chimed in, "How much?"
"The compensation has been increased to eleven million, and the same goes for you, which means the two of us together will have a total of twenty-two million."
Guangyou had already figured it out in his mind: once he got the money, he could add a sausage to his instant noodles, and occasionally splurge on a tea egg.
Sigh, the lives of the rich are so simple and unpretentious, even a bit boring.
"Quite a lot."
Ai's response was calm and indifferent, showing no emotional fluctuation on the surface.
"We'll go buy all those bags you looked at before," Guangyou said with a smile, sipping his soup.
Ai shook her head, her expression still as calm as water: "No need, I'll just keep the money, I might need it later."
"It's okay, a few bags won't cost much."
As the saying goes, money is a bastard; if you lose it, you can earn it back.
Guangyou felt there was nothing to save up; he could earn back the money for the bag in no time.
Besides, it's for Ai Haibara, so there's nothing to feel bad about.
Just one word: Buy!
I said, no need!
The air seemed to freeze at that moment, and the smile on Guangyou's face gradually disappeared.
"Feel sorry…"
Realizing that her emotions had fluctuated, Ai quickly apologized, then put the bowl on the cabinet, got up and left the room.
"What's wrong with her? Did I say something wrong?"
Guangyou looked out the door, his face full of worry.
"Let's go take a look."
Guangyou supported himself with his hands, enduring the waves of soreness in his muscles, and slowly got out of bed.
As he walked out the door, leaning against the wall, Kōyū immediately spotted Ai leaning against the wall next to him.
She was looking down at the floor, seemingly lost in thought.
"What's wrong?"
Hearing the voice, Ai didn't answer, but instead helped Kyou and asked, "Why did you come out? Go inside and rest."
