Chapter 580 Enjoying the Rain

"You're such a smooth talker."

Ai simply spat out a word and didn't say anything else. Just like before, she obediently lay on Kyou's chest, her jewel-like eyes already closed, with only her eyelashes trembling slightly.

"Not everyone deserves my sarcasm."

Guangyou doesn't think his sharp tongue is a bad thing; he's not a playboy who can be sarcastic to everyone he meets.

He was just joking around with his own people to add some fun.

After finishing their banter, the two fell silent.

Kōyū looked down at Ai, just like that morning at the hospital, she was lying on his chest with her eyes closed, as if taking a nap.

And that was indeed the case; after a busy afternoon, Ai was quite tired.

This is different from sitting in front of a computer to do research, where you only need to sit still and use your brain to think.

In the afternoon, she was really busy, racking her brains to make this soup.

Since she had promised Guangyou that she would stay with him for a while, she might as well close her eyes and rest in his warm embrace.

After a short while, Guangyou felt the pain in his chest gradually subside. Now, apart from his legs being pressed down, he felt better and no longer felt sore if he didn't move.

As mentioned before, before Ai left, it was estimated that there were only the two of them in this room, and Kousuke seized this rare opportunity to close his eyes and rest.

He originally wanted to close his eyes and take a nap, but Guangyou found that he couldn't fall asleep. It wasn't because of the warm and soft body in his arms, but because he had slept for too long today.

He had spent most of the day sleeping, and now that night was approaching, it was time to sleep, but he couldn't fall asleep.

It's better if I can't sleep. If I just fall asleep like this and wake up to find myself lying in bed and Ai has gone home, wouldn't that be a waste of this rare opportunity?

The room was very quiet, and Guangyou's hearing was put to great use. He could hear Ai's steady breathing, Ran tidying up the room outside the door, and the intermittent sound of rain outside.

After a while, Guangyou heard the sound of rain outside gradually stabilize, indicating that it had started to drizzle.

This is the first rain in a while, and it wasn't heavy, which was just enough to moisten the green plants that hadn't been touched by moisture for a long time.

The once clear sky was now covered with dark clouds, and raindrops the size of peas pounded against the leaves of trees and the rooftops of buildings, carrying the sound outwards.

The shattering of raindrops stirred ripples in Guangyou's heart...

"If only things could stay this peaceful forever."

Guangyou breathed a sigh of relief and brought up this age-old question.

Dreams are beautiful, but reality is cruel. If it were that easy to calm down, he would have left this place with Ai long ago.

In a place like Beika Town with such a high crime rate, no one would want to stay here.

Oh, I forgot, Conan probably has a special fondness for Beika Town, since it's where his detective skills can be fully utilized.

Who knows? If Conan went to other places, his innate death god-like nature might turn those places into a second Beika Town.

If that's the case, then things will get interesting.

"Um.."

A soft moan broke the silence of the room, bringing Guangyou, who was lost in thought, back to reality.

"Awake? Why not sleep a little longer?"

As soon as he said those words, Guangyou felt a sense of familiarity. Upon closer reflection, he realized that he had said the same thing that morning.

How long did I sleep?

Ai blinked her still sleepy eyes, raised her head slightly to look at Kōyū, and said, "I just wanted to rest for a bit, but I ended up falling asleep."

Guangyou gave a gentle smile and said, "It's alright, it's good to sleep a little longer. You've worked hard this afternoon."

"What's so hard about it? I just made a pot of soup."

Ai heard this sentence after she regained some of her senses.

Is it hard work?

She felt that what she did in the afternoon was not hard work at all.

In comparison, Guangyou had a much harder time.

Not to mention anything else, the time I was setting up those dolls a while ago, they saved her again just a couple of days ago.

In Ai's heart, Kōyū had a much harder life than her.

"Alright, I'll go get you some soup. I wonder how that pot of soup is doing now." Xiao Ai yawned, then got up to leave.

"Um."

This time, Kōyū didn't stop her. He just pursed his lips and responded, then watched Ai walk out of the room.

After Ai left, Kōyū couldn't hold back any longer. Ignoring the soreness in his arm muscles, he quickly propped himself up and sat up from the bed.

When he fell down, half of his leg was off the bed. After being pressed down for a while, the blood circulation in his legs was restricted, causing both legs to start to go numb.

"Wow, this feeling is so irresistible."

Guangyou sat on the edge of the bed, gritted his teeth, and swung his legs a couple of times to promote blood circulation in his legs.

Not long after, Ai returned to her room with the soup.

As soon as she entered the room, Ai saw Kōyū sitting on the bed swinging his legs and asked, "What's wrong?"

"It's nothing, my legs are just a little numb."

Guangyou waved his hand to indicate that he was fine, and stopped shaking his leg after noticing that the abnormality in his leg had almost disappeared.

Ai nodded without asking any further questions, sat down next to Kōyū, and picked up a spoon to feed him soup.

The bowl wasn't big; besides the soup, there were only a few pieces of pork ribs inside. Even if he drank it slowly, it only took him four or five minutes.

"When are you leaving?" Guangyou asked, glancing at the time after finishing his soup.

It's past 7 p.m. now, which isn't early anymore. In a little while, I can wash up and go to bed.
