A dozen minutes later…
It's almost 8 o'clock now, it's getting late, and Ai is getting ready to leave.
Kōyū took a folding umbrella from his drawer and handed it to Ai, saying, "It's raining outside, take my umbrella and go."
Taking the umbrella, Ai nodded: "Okay."
Guangyou instructed, "It might be a bit cold tonight, so remember to cover yourself well with the blankets and don't catch a cold."
Ai: "Okay."
Like a mother hen, Kōyū kept nagging Ai: "Remember to go to class properly tomorrow."
"Okay, okay, you're so long-winded."
Ai pouted, her words full of disdain, but inside she felt like she had eaten a sweet date.
Guangyou smiled helplessly: "Alright, alright, I won't nag anymore."
"Then I'm leaving. You get some rest."
Ai gave Kousuke a deep look, then turned and left.
Watching Ai walk towards the door, Kōyū couldn't help but say again, "Take care on your journey, and send me a text message when you get back."
"knew."
Ai's voice drifted into the room from outside the door, and then she gently closed the door.
After she left, Guangyou was left alone in the room.
Guangyou sat on the edge of the bed, looked around the empty room, and muttered to himself, "I'm actually not used to being alone. People really do change."
He used to prefer being alone, whether on missions or in his daily life. If someone was around him, even someone he knew, he would still feel somewhat uncomfortable.
It's less accurate to say he's become more sociable and more accurate to say he simply wants to interact with people he likes or is familiar with.
Who cares?
Guangyou shook these strange thoughts out of his mind, propped himself up with his hands, and walked to the window to look outside.
After waiting for a while, a figure holding an umbrella came into his view.
The figure stopped under the streetlight, turned around, and lifted the umbrella to reveal a delicate little face.
Upon seeing Ai, Kousuke smiled and waved, but due to his physical condition, the wave was not very large.
Ai, standing under the streetlight, also saw Kousuke waving at her from the window.
A faint, spring-like smile instantly bloomed on her face, and she also stretched out her hand and waved at him with a very small gesture.
The two stared at each other from a distance for a while, and then Guangyou left the window first, bringing the curtain down.
If he didn't leave, Kōyū felt he could stare at Ai-chan until dawn.
Seeing the figure by the window disappear, Ai stopped smiling, turned around, and walked away into the distance.
If you look closely, you can see that her steps are lighter, and if you get closer, you can hear her humming a tune.
Raindrops fell on the green leaves, the curb, and Xiao Ai's umbrella, making a crisp "pitter-patter" sound.
These sounds blended seamlessly with the tune Xiao Ai hummed, not jarringly, but rather harmoniously.
Actually, she had wanted to say what Guangyou said earlier a long time ago, but Guangyou was uncooperative and deliberately acted cheeky.
So she joked around a bit, and as a result, Guangyou stopped. At that moment, she really wanted to give Guangyou anesthesia and then dissect him to see his anatomy.
When she said those words, Ai didn't realize what she was saying at all; she was just following her heart and saying what was on her mind.
She only realized what was happening when she saw Guangyou's delighted expression after she finished speaking.
But it really makes me feel relieved to say it out loud.
Ai didn't feel that pressure in her heart anymore; it was as if all her troubles had been resolved.
Although she knew that some of her troubles remained unresolved, she still felt refreshed and happy.
"Ai, you're back? How's Kousuke doing?"
Suddenly, a slightly aged but childlike voice rang out, startling Ai out of her reverie.
It was only then that Ai realized she had unknowingly returned home.
"He's doing well; he just needs a few days of rest."
After answering the question, Ai closed her umbrella and headed straight for the basement. "I'm going to rest now. Doctor, please take care of yourself. Don't wait until you've lost all your hair before you regret it."
"Okay, hehe."
Professor Agasa scratched his sparse hair and gave an awkward laugh.
Seeing that the basement door was completely closed, Dr. Agasa raised an eyebrow, hurriedly ran to a cabinet, took out a pizza, devoured it in a few bites, and then wiped his mouth with a tissue.
"Just indulge for a day or two, there's no rush to lose weight. After all, you won't have the energy to lose weight if you're not full."
…
Ai Haibara hadn't noticed Professor Agasa's strange behavior at all. After returning to the basement, she put down her umbrella and took out her phone to let Kousuke know she was safe: "I'm back in my room."
Get some rest.
The message came back quickly, as if Guangyou had been holding his phone waiting for her message the whole time.
Ai leaned against her teddy bear, holding her phone. After hesitating for a moment, she deleted the original message and retyped: "Get some rest early tonight, don't stay up too late, it's not good for your recovery."
Guangyou replied: "Okay, I'm going to sleep right away."
"Um."
After replying to Kōyū, Ai sent a text message to someone else.
"Sister, I also said to him today..."
…
It's getting late, and Guangyou is getting ready to wash up and go to bed.
The aches and pains in my body were unbearable, but I could still walk by holding onto the wall.
Upon opening the door, Kōyū saw Conan sitting in the living room reading a book.
Hearing the door open, Conan turned to look at Kōyū, then turned back to his book and said earnestly, "There are still people in the agency, you two need to be careful too."
