Chapter 590 Fried Rice

Time flew by and it was already the next day. After dinner last night, Guangyou took a short rest and then went to take a shower. He then lay in bed and exchanged text messages with Xiao Ai for a while.

Their chat ended at 9:30. It wasn't that Guangyou didn't want to continue, but Ai saw that it was getting late, so she quickly ended the topic in a few words and then urged Guangyou to go to bed early.

Those who go to bed early naturally wake up early. On this day, Guangyou was the first one up in the agency. After getting up and washing up, he prepared breakfast for the others in the agency.

To kill time, after finishing his breakfast, Kōyū sat in the living room and picked up the book "Edogawa Ranpo Collection" that Conan had been reading the day before, and began to read it with great interest.

He read for an hour straight, and Guangyou himself didn't even realize when he had become so engrossed in the detective novel. The almost pathological psychology of some of the characters made it impossible for him to put the book down.

Ranpo's cases vividly and realistically depict the bestiality of human beings. Although they transcend reality, they are not detached from it, making them highly immersive.

Suddenly, Conan appeared next to Kōyū and said to him, "Hey, wake up, it's getting late, time to go to school."

"Huh? Oh, I see. Don't rush me, there's still almost an hour left."

Guangyou, who was suddenly called out, hadn't yet come out of the story in the book. After catching his breath for a while, he glanced at the time, then calmly got up, stretched, and leisurely walked back to his room to pick up his schoolbag.

"Let's go." Before leaving, Kōyū didn't forget to take the novel he was reading halfway through. He waved the book at Conan and said, "Lend me this book for a day."

"Okay, okay, but you have to hurry, Xiaolan is already waiting downstairs."

"Hurry, hurry, all you do is rush us! We're already leaving, aren't we? Besides, there's still an hour left, what's the rush?"

...

On the other side, Ai had already climbed out of her warm bed and prepared the fried rice that Guangyou would eat today. At this moment, she was neither looking at magazines nor cookbooks, but just nestled on the sofa with her eyes closed, just like a sleeping cat.

"Ding-dong~"

As soon as the doorbell rang, Ai opened her eyes, quickly got up, slung her backpack over her shoulder, grabbed her insulated bag, and went out the door.

As soon as she opened the door, Ai saw the figure that had quietly appeared in her dream last night. A smile involuntarily appeared on her lips, but she quickly suppressed it.

Outside the gate, Guangyou was smiling and waving at her, saying, "Good morning."

As they walked out the door, Ai nodded to him and said, "Good morning to you too."

The two walked side by side toward the school, chatting about things they hadn't finished discussing the night before.

As for Conan and Ran, they didn't stop in front of Professor Agasa's door at all, seemingly deliberately giving the two some space.

...

Near Teitan Elementary School

From a distance, Kōyū saw a figure looking around at the entrance of Teitan Elementary School, and asked Conan beside him, "Is that Tetsuya Kuroki?"

"Probably, he probably wants to know if your uncle accepted the request yesterday, right?" Conan wasn't sure because of the distance and the fact that he couldn't see the face clearly.

After getting closer, Kōyū confirmed that the person was indeed Tetsuya Kuroki. The latter also saw Kōyū and his group and waved to them, as if beckoning them to come over.

"How about it?"

Just as Conan said, he really wanted to ask about the request, and Mitsuyu answered truthfully: "I've accepted the request, but I can't guarantee whether I can find out anything."

Hearing this, Kuroki Tetsuya said with a sigh of relief, "It's good that he can take it on. I've heard of the nickname 'Sleeping Kogoro' before. I believe he can find out the reason for my parents' cold war."

Seeing how happy he was, Kōyū didn't want to dampen his spirits. After greeting him, he led Ai into the teaching building.

Accepting a case doesn't guarantee success. After all, couples don't usually publicize their arguments, and a private investigator wouldn't do something as foolish as asking the client directly.

Besides, even if you ask, they won't tell you.

...

"Madam, I've heard that you've betrayed your husband. Is that true?"

"roll."

...

A person with a good temper would probably just say a few words and let it go, like in the conversation above.

But if you encounter someone with a bad temper, then you can only leave it to fate. Whether you stay in bed at home for a few days or spend time in the ICU, no one can say for sure.

However, the situation with Uncle Mori was no longer his concern, and whether Tetsuya Kuroki would be disappointed after collapsing was also irrelevant to him; he had done all he could.

Compared to his affairs, Kōyū was more concerned about the insulated bag that Ai was carrying, or more precisely, what was inside the insulated bag.

Thinking about the egg fried rice that Ai made for lunch, Kōyū couldn't help but chuckle, which made Ai roll her eyes at him.

...

On the playground of Teitan Elementary School, a familiar scene was playing out again. Conan, as the striker, skillfully dribbled past one person after another, and with a powerful shot, he sent the soccer ball into the goal.

On the other side, under a thick tree next to the court, Kōyū and Ayā were leaning against the trunk reading books.

"Kuangyou." Ai stopped flipping through her book, looked up at Kuangyou beside her, and asked, "What did you think of the fried rice for lunch?"

This was her first time making fried rice. To prepare, she even researched online and wrote down some tips that might make the fried rice taste better.
