Chapter 603 A Letter to Tetsuya Kuroki

"Kuyou, Ai, good morning."

"Good morning, Ayumi."

After sitting back down in his seat, Kōyū glanced at Ayumi and the other two. Because of what happened yesterday, the three of them weren't chatting together, but were sitting in their seats, lost in thought.

Last night, all three of them had the same dream, in which the same tragedy happened in their families. As a result, this morning, none of them felt well.

Guangyou was unaware of what was going on with the others and didn't care, because he figured that if he gave Ayumi and the other two a few more days, things would return to normal.

At that moment, Kōyū took an envelope out of his bag and threw it into his desk drawer. The envelope contained the commission money from Tetsuo Kuroki.

Uncle Mori had originally said he would mail the letter today, but this morning he asked Kōsuke to do it, which saved him the trouble of getting money.

He's about to start class, so there's definitely no time. He'll go and return the money to Kuroki Tetsuya during the lunch break.

"Ring ring~"

The familiar bell rang, and Ms. Kobayashi walked into the classroom with her textbooks. Then the students in the classroom said, "Quiet down, get ready for class."

...

The morning passed quickly. Right after lunch, Guangyou took the envelope and headed to the classroom of Class 3-B.

When they arrived at the classroom, Guangyou glanced inside and noticed that one of the seats was empty, standing out from the surroundings.

Without much thought, he knew that the chair must belong to Kuroki Tetsuya, which meant that Kuroki Tetsuya hadn't come to class today, and he would have to find another way to repay the money.

"Excuse me, who are you looking for?"

The sudden sound interrupted Guangyou's thoughts. He looked up and saw a female teacher standing in front of him.

“I’m here to see Tetsuya Kuroki,” Kouyu explained. “He didn’t come today, did he?”

The female teacher nodded and said, "Yes, he didn't come today. He said he had something to do at home."

"Okay, thank you, teacher."

After thanking him, Guangyou turned and left.

Yesterday's incident was indeed a big blow to Kuroki Tetsuya, and Kouyu could understand. Putting himself in his shoes, if something like that happened to him, he wouldn't be able to go to school like a normal person the next day.

As soon as she returned to the classroom and sat down in her seat, Ai asked, "How is it? He shouldn't be here, right?"

"Yeah, I took the day off." Guangyou stuffed the envelope back into his bag and asked, "I'm planning to go to his house this afternoon to return the money to him. Are you coming?"

Upon hearing this, Ai pretended to think for a moment before replying, "Since I'm free this afternoon, I'll go with you."

After receiving a response, Guangyou tore a blank page from his notebook and began to write.

This was written for Tetsuya Kuroki, filled with encouraging words and inspirational quotes. Last night, my negative emotions were at their peak, and as an outsider, it wasn't appropriate for me to comfort him.

After a night and a whole day, Mitsuyu believed that Tetsuya Kuroki's emotions should have stabilized somewhat and that he should be able to listen to what he was told.

No matter what, he was just an innocent child, and quite filial at that. He originally wanted to help his parents reconcile, but then this unexpected disaster struck, and his mental state collapsed.

He suddenly woke up from a dream in the middle of the night last night and couldn't fall back asleep for a while, so he just kept thinking wildly.

He suddenly remembered what Ai had said to him back then, and upon further reflection, he realized that Kuroki Tetsuya's experience was five or six parts similar to Ai's.

The difference is that Ai has an older sister, while Tetsuya Kuroki has nothing but the house designed by his father. Over time, Tetsuya Kuroki might become even more gloomy.

That's why Kōyū had the idea to write a letter to Tetsuya Kuroki yesterday.

I wrote this letter in the hope that he can get out of the shadows. This kid actually has a good personality. Guangyou doesn't want to see him become a self-pitying person all day because of this, and he doesn't want to see him take his own life because he can't think straight.

...

"Ring ring~"

The moment the school bell rang, the classroom doorway was nearly broken by the students.

"Let's go, Ai." Kouyu slung his backpack over his shoulder and said goodbye to Conan. "Ai and I have something to do, so you can go ahead."

"Even if you two are fine, I'll still go first." Conan rolled his eyes at Kouyu and complained, "Every time, you two just disappear while we're walking, it's no different from me leaving first."

However, Kousuke didn't hear his complaints because he and Ai had already left the classroom.

Following their memories from last night, Kōyū and Ai arrived at the Kuroki residence in just over ten minutes.

At this moment, the gate of the Kuroki family's house was tightly closed, and a gust of wind blew by, rustling the leaves.

A waterfall flows over the artificial hill in the corner of the courtyard.

It was as peaceful as if we had just arrived yesterday. If you didn't know the truth, you probably wouldn't guess that a murder had happened here.

There was a mailbox at the door, but Guangyou didn't intend to put the letter in it.

After all, where would someone who has experienced a major setback find the time to check their mailbox?

He planned to deliver the letter directly to Tetsuya Kuroki.

"Ai, wait for me at the door for a moment, I'm going to deliver a message."

"Um."

After greeting Ai, Kōyū pushed open the gate and walked into the yard.

The front door of the Kuroki family's house wasn't locked, so it seems that Kuroki Tetsuya hasn't come downstairs since he went up last night.

"Enter through the main gate... or take the unconventional route?"

"Forget it, I'll just go through the front door. After all, I'm not a thief..."

As he said this, Guangyou took out lock-picking tools from his backpack, squatted down, and began working on the keyhole.

These old-fashioned locks are quite easy to open; Guangyou unlocked them in just a few dozen seconds.

The house was quiet, and everything was the same as yesterday, except for the bathroom, which was temporarily sealed off.

"Let's go upstairs and check on the child."

With that in mind, Guangyou tiptoed upstairs to the second floor.

Arriving at Tetsuya Kuroki's bedroom, Kōyū gently pressed his ear against the door, listening to the sounds inside.

"Swish...swish..."

"Is he looking at photo albums?" Guangyou shook his head helplessly and muttered to himself, "This child is really a mess... I hope you can cheer up after reading my letter."

Then, Kōyū tossed the envelope under the door without waiting for Kuroki Tetsuya's reaction. After delivering the letter, he left the house in the same manner.

"Ai, let's go. I saw a bubble tea shop nearby yesterday, and it looked pretty good."

"Go home, this stuff isn't very healthy."

"All right."

"Who sent this?" Kuroki Tetsuya picked up the envelope from the ground, wiped his reddened eyes with his sleeve, glanced at the door, and asked in confusion, "Was someone here just now?"

Looking at the words on it, Kuroki Tetsuya was somewhat surprised: "This is for me?"

Upon opening the envelope, he saw several ten-thousand-yuan bills. The moment he saw the money, he knew who had sent the letter.

"It must be that boy..." Kuroki Tetsuya saw the letter in the envelope, hesitated for a moment, and then opened it to take a look.

A few minutes later, Kuroki Tetsuya finished reading the entire letter and said softly, "Thank you..."
