Chapter 62 Oscar and Keizo Masuo

"Wow! A policewoman, so cool!" Ayumi exclaimed.

After introducing herself, Miwako still didn't know why the group of children in front of her were there. She asked Takagi and learned that they were there to take statements from the Blue Castle incident. She looked somewhat surprised: "Are they the children who performed so well in that case?"

Takagi nodded: "Because the criminal from that incident has already explained what happened, but the criminal said he didn't recognize the mercenaries in the castle, so Inspector Megure asked them to tell us the details of what happened this time."

Seemingly remembering something, Ayumi said with admiration, "Ah! I remember now! You're the policewoman who responded to the arena incident last time, right? Wow, you're so cool!"

Miwako chuckled softly: "So you were the little brats who were wandering around the arena that time? I remember you."

"How could we call that just wandering around? We were seriously assisting in solving the case!"

Mitsuhiko said, squinting his eyes.

Genta looked very unhappy: "How is this wandering around? We, the Junior Detective Club, are here to uphold justice! Isn't this wrong?"

Upon hearing this, Miwako walked up to Genta, bent down, and said earnestly, "Perhaps you helped with the Arena case and the Blue Castle case, but upholding justice isn't something you can just talk about and brag about! It needs to be kept in your heart, and taking action is the best way, you understand?"

The three members of the detective team blushed slightly and nodded.

Kōyū, standing beside him, also strongly agreed. Although the three of them wanted to fight crime, their children's bodies limited what they could do. Take the case of Natsume Soseki, for example. If it weren't for Kōyū, and if things had gone according to the original story, then a stubborn kid like Genta would have been dead long ago without Conan's help.

"By the way, Officer Sato, didn't you go to the scene of that 200 million yen robbery with Inspector Megure to assist in the investigation? What happened? Did something go wrong?" Takagi asked, looking at Miwako who had suddenly returned.

Miwako nodded: "Yes, that's why I came back. The bank manager who was robbed yesterday said he had something very important to discuss, and he called me yesterday to ask me to meet him here today. He said he and his wife would come together at 2 o'clock."

"That's a bit strange. The lady in charge called me the same way yesterday, saying she'd come over by herself at 5 pm." Takagi asked, stroking her chin in confusion.

“The person in charge mentioned this, saying that they were afraid the criminals would harm his wife, so they wanted to come together before dawn,” Miwako explained.

"By the way, did Yumi from the Transportation Department say anything to you? I was drinking with her yesterday, and she said a lot, but I don't know what she said."

Takagi's previously serious face immediately turned flustered, and he scratched his head, "Wh-what? I didn't say anything!"

As he said this, a faint blush appeared on Takagi's bronze face.

But Kwang-woo noticed, and he dramatically clutched his chest: "Ah! My heart is going to jump out of my chest! I really didn't say anything yesterday!"

"Officer Sato."

Takagi was still lost in his own world when the sudden sound made him shudder. He gasped for breath, clutching his chest, feeling somewhat embarrassed.

"I've brought the person in charge of Dongdu Bank over!"

After Miwako thanked him, the police officer left.

The bank manager, Keizo Masuo, could be described in a jingle as follows upon entering the room: he sighed, glanced at his watch, and his expression was not good.

Keizo Masuo muttered to himself, "I finally made it."

Watching Masuo Keizo looking around and talking, Kōyū thought to himself: Even though he's ugly.

Keizo Masuo glanced at his watch again and asked, "Could I borrow the phone here?"

“Of course,” Takagi replied.

Picking up the phone, after dialing, Keizo Masuo asked, "Where are you now? I'm at the police station now."

After hearing the response from the other end, Masuo Keizo handed the microphone to Takagi.

"Madam, you're still at home? Is something the matter?"

"But weren't you supposed to come here with your husband at 2 o'clock today?"

"Never heard of it?"

As soon as he said that, Keizo Masuo snatched the microphone from Takagi's hand. In the process, Takagi's hand touched the hands-free button on the landline.

Unfortunately, right after the speakerphone button was pressed, a terrified scream came through the microphone.

The people who heard the screams sensed something was wrong.

After Takagi asked a few times, he received no response.

Miwako quickly said, "Officer Takagi, please have the search team on standby. I'll drive the car to the entrance!"

After saying that, he turned and went out the door.

While the three members of the Detective Boys were still discussing what the Search Team was, Conan followed them out, as did Mitsuyu.

Mitsuhiko, who had just finished discussing things, turned to look at Conan, only to find that Conan was gone. Upon closer inspection, he discovered that Mitsuyu was also missing.

"Will my wife be alright?" Keizo Masuo asked, looking slightly worried, as he sat in the car.

Miwako first comforted Masuo Keizo, and then asked if anything strange had happened nearby.

Masuo Keizo thought for a moment: "Oh, right, my wife told me yesterday that there was a suspicious man loitering around our house."

Looking at Keizo Masuo, Kouyu said in a low voice, "I think Keizo Masuo should go into acting. The Oscars need him."
