Chapter 635 Returning to the City

After the movie discussion ended, Kōyū and Ai continued playing the game.

Clearing the levels isn't the point; having fun is.

During the game, the two would occasionally try to trick each other when they weren't looking.

Those who trick others will laugh it off, while those who get tricked won't get angry. They'll just pretend to be angry and complain a few times, saying something like, "You'll see next time."

Both of them had happy smiles on their faces, and the atmosphere was very pleasant.

After playing games for a while, Conan pushed open the door to the recreation room and called out, "Hey, time to go back. Of course, if you want to stay here, I have no objection."

Ignoring Conan's sarcastic remarks, Kōyū stood up, put the controller away, and waved the game cartridge at Conan: "Is it because you're not good at games that you've developed a phobia of places like this?"

"You're overthinking it." Conan looked slightly embarrassed, as if he had been exposed. "Anyway, you two hurry up. Your uncle and the others are already packing their things and are just waiting for you two."

After leaving those words, Conan turned and left without looking back.

After moving to a spot where the two couldn't see him, Conan breathed a sigh of relief: "Luckily, my acting was pretty good. That guy probably didn't notice me... um... probably not."

If Guangyou were here, he would definitely complain. I don't know what makes this guy so sure that his acting skills are so good. Is it just because he has an actress mother?

However, Kouyu wasn't there. He was putting the game cartridge back in its place, turning off the game console, and disconnecting the power. After doing all that, he said to Ai, "Let's go."

Ai nodded and replied, "Mm."

...

At the entrance of Tamagawa's house, Uncle Mori shook hands with Tamagawa Joji and said, "Mr. Tamagawa, thank you so much for your help yesterday."

"No need to be so polite." Tamagawa Joji smiled. "It's my honor to meet Mr. Mori. It's not a trouble at all. Anyway, there's usually no one else here except my wife and me. I should thank Mr. Mori for making this place a bit more lively."

"Not at all," Uncle Mori said with a smile to Tamagawa Joji. "Then we'll take our leave."

"Okay." Tamagawa Joji seemed to remember something and quickly said, "Mr. Mori, how about I drive you back?"

"There's no need to trouble Mr. Tamagawa." Uncle Mori refused Tamagawa Joji without even thinking. "We've already bothered Mr. Tamagawa for a long time, how could we trouble him again?"

Upon hearing this, Tamagawa Joji smiled and said, "Mr. Mori, you don't need to be so polite."

“I appreciate the thought, but there’s no need to take it.” Uncle Mori waved his hand and said, “We can walk to the station ourselves. We just finished breakfast, so we can treat it as an after-meal walk.”

After saying this, Tamagawa Joji didn't insist any further: "Alright then."

Just then, a gentle-sounding voice suddenly rang out: "Darling, the wine is ready."

The group looked up and saw that the Yamato Nadeshiko, also known as Mrs. Tamagawa, was carrying a bag and walking towards them.

Upon hearing this, Tamagawa Joji remembered that he had promised Uncle Mori yesterday to bring him some wine. He took the bag of wine and handed it to Uncle Mori, saying, "Mr. Mori, this wine is what I promised you yesterday."

"this..."

Seeing that Uncle Mori seemed a little hesitant, Tamagawa Joji put away his smile, stuffed the bag directly into Uncle Mori's arms, and said, "This wine is quite cheap, Mr. Mori, you don't need to be polite at all."

"Well... alright." Uncle Mori has absolutely no resistance to alcohol, especially good alcohol, and with Tamagawa Joji being so enthusiastic, refusing him feels like he's not giving him face.

After careful consideration, he decided to accept it: "Then thank you, Mr. Tamagawa."

Seeing that his gift had been accepted, Tamagawa Joji finally put on a smile again.

Then Uncle Mori bowed slightly to Tamagawa Joji as a way of thanking him for his care the day before. "Mr. Tamagawa, we'll take our leave now."

After exchanging pleasantries and accepting the drinks, Uncle Mori felt there was no need to stay any longer, so he prepared to take the group back to Tokyo.

I heard there's a rebroadcast of last night's variety show this afternoon, I don't know if I'll be able to catch it.

"Then I wish Mr. Mori a safe journey." Tamagawa Joji called out to the departing figures with a smile, "If you have time, you are welcome to come and visit anytime.

From a distance, Uncle Mori's voice rang out: "Okay, thank you, Mr. Tamagawa."

Watching the group disappear from his sight, Tamagawa Castle Chief slowly wiped the smile from his face, stood with his hands behind his back, and asked, "Is there something wrong with those two kids? Were they playing a game or...?"

Mrs. Tamagawa, still with that gentle expression, replied, "Yes, those two children were indeed playing a game. I watched them for a long time, and they seemed to be having a lot of fun. There was nothing unusual about it."

"Could it be that the information from that official was incorrect?"

Upon hearing this, Tamagawa Joji narrowed his eyes, a sense of doubt creeping into his heart. After a moment of silence, he muttered to himself, "That old man told me to keep an eye on that child. Why is that?"

"I think that child is quite normal. I really don't understand what those people are thinking."

After racking his brains without finding a solution, Tamagawa Joji shook his head. He decided to stop thinking about it: "Forget it, I'll just report to the old man, and then I can finally take a proper vacation... Hmm... Awesome..."

With that, Tamagawa Joji turned around and leisurely walked towards the house.

Halfway there, Tamagawa Joji suddenly remembered something, turned around and said to his wife, who was walking behind him, "When we have a vacation, I'll take you to Hokkaido for a trip. It's been a long time since we've gone out to play."

Mrs. Yu Chuan smiled and nodded: "Okay."

...

At this moment, Guangyou had already arrived at the station. He didn't have the ability to see and hear things from afar, nor did he have Saiki's superpowers, and he hadn't installed any listening devices anywhere, so naturally he didn't know about the mysterious conversation between the two.

It's still early. If we don't get delayed on the way, we'll get back to Tokyo just in time for lunch.

The movie is being re-released in the afternoon, so they should be able to catch the first screening of the re-release.

Today's plan is quite simple: first, take the car back to Tokyo, then take Ai to have lunch, then take her shopping, and finally take her to see the movie when it starts.

This arrangement can be summed up in two words: perfect!

"Kuangyou, what are you thinking about?" Ai's voice suddenly rang out, tinged with amusement. "Are you thinking about that thing?"

"This..." Kōyū glanced at Ai and said with a serious expression, "No, absolutely not, how could I possibly think about that?"

"So, you think that's not good?" Ai glanced at Kousuke, a sly glint in her eyes, her playful tone becoming even more pronounced. "Since you've put it that way, then let's just forget about it."

Upon hearing this, Guangyou blurted out, "No!"
